Well it's been a near perfect summer in downtown Spokane, WA. We left the Charger under cover most of the summer of 2017 and instead we chose to hit the streets on bike and foot. We rented a 700 square foot loft apartment above some retail space and had a blast. It has been amazing re-discovering a city I have lived in for more than 40 years. This is a shot of the city's core near the Spokane falls (the second largest urban waterfall in the US).
We are returning to our home in the country on the 31st of October but we will never forget our "Summer in the City!".

39 Vestry Condos in lower Manhattan on Vestry St.There's a video link below giving you some idea of what an loft apartment looks like inside of a former warehouse.Vestry St is in the Tribeca historic district.Tribeca is known for having old storage warehouses and cobblestone streets,as well as being one of the wealthiest places to live in the US with many celebrities and famous people living there.The warehouse was built in the 1880s in the German Rundbogenstil or "round-arched style"because the arched windows resembled eyebrows.The Puck building is a Rundbogenstil structure.The red brick building was owned by a William Menck,who with his brother Charles,were in the storage business.The green area is where the loading dock used to be.Telling from the white curtains I think there's a condo apartment in there now according to an article I read.The How I Met Your Mother creator Craig Thomas and his wife live in the building.I worked once at a building in the area that sorta looks like this,only a little more vertical called the Tribeca Film Center about ten years ago. www.nbcnewyork.com/blogs/open-house/OHNYC-1280-B-SQFT-39-...

This is the biggest Diorama I've constructed! I'm not %100 happy with it yet! It still needs a few finishing touches!

I have always admired loft style apartments, so I decided to build one. To build the brick wall was a fun task. I barely had enough dark red stuff for that, had to use even jumper plates and slopes to get it done.
The painting is a printed picture of my great idol, Michael Jackson. I think you guess what I listened while bulding this. ;)
I've missed decorating!
To get back in the swing of things I'm working on a little project and here is a little sneak peek at the kitchen so far.
Last weekend, we stayed in a very artistically decorated loft apartment in Victoria through Air B&B. We felt like we were staying in a natural history gallery/museum and this was my favourite of their plentiful art pieces. This (as I see it) was a stunning driftwood horse's head and my personal favourite among everything. If it were mine, it would have pride of place in my home. Alas, it was low on the hallway wall and easy to miss until you came out of the downstairs bathroom. And, oddly enough, when I showed my husband this photo, he said he hadn't once thought of it as a horse's head. I guess it's the ol' pareidolia in me kicking in again. So, since I don't own it personally (although I would REALLY love to), and they didn't give it the honour I personally feel it deserves, I decided to capture it for myself through a photo, albeit simply an iPhone snap, and process it to make my own version and to fit/enhance the beauty of just what I saw in that driftwood. Happy Sliders Sunday. Incidentally, to give you a sense of scale, it probably weights 35lbs and is close to 3 feet wide by 2.25 feet at its longest vertically.

The Webster dictionary defines minimalism as follows: A style or technique that is characterized by extreme sparseness and simplicity. For this theme you must create a photo with a “keep it simple” mentality. How you approach this theme is entirely up to you, but keep ornamental additions to a minimum. Think negative space photography or sparsely decorated rooms. Think simplistic fashion with a classic sheath dress, flawless ponytail, and pearl stud earrings. Show us that your doll(s) knows that sometimes less is more.

I like to think of this as the entrance space to Jordan's loft apartment. Walking through will take you into her living room which has walls of glass on two sides and views out over the city. Her apartment will be a penthouse with floor to ceiling walls of glass in almost every room. Her bedroom will connect to the most awesome walk-in closet that your most extravagant dreams have ever imagined and lead through to the ultimate in bathroom luxury. Jordan likes the best things in life.

This is a shot of a street in downtown Toronto. I took this from a moving car. I processed the image to remove details in the sky and to increase contrast to highlight details in the street with a blue, back and white colour palette. I am not sure why I kept this image. I think that the image shows me how much my view of the city has changed over the years. When I was sixteen, I wanted to to live in a loft apartment in the center of the city so that I could walk down Yonge Street or Queen Street West while acting important any time I wanted to, and now I all I do is complain about the traffic and the cost of parking when I drive into downtown. I suppose that I am different now than when I was sixteen and so is the city; however, I still feel connected to Toronto. As much as I or others may complain about it, Toronto is much more than cars, pollution, and crowds on the subway. I hope you like the image despite the obvious wide-angle lens distortion.
For Five Years I have thought that I did not have any Images Of Harrods Department store Within My Neglected Images Of London... I had in error thought that Harrods was located across the street from Parliament or Right In The Middle Of Piccalilli... so I could not spot the Store in any of the neglected Images... So how surprised that My Infamous Photo Acumen Actually did document the existence of Harrods five years ago (maybe it has been since gone out of business or made into a warehouse or a loft apartment complex)... But, whatever it is today, Harrods (I Think) had the World famous reputation of being the World's Greatest "Everything 99 (US) Cents Store and Refurbished Goods Discount Outlet." I understand that they later raised the Everything Price to $2.50 (US Dollars) but that might have been affordable for Mysterious Market Goods... Harrods had (I may be wrong on this) 16 World Class Michelin Rated 10 Star Gourmet Restaurants on Site that Offered Nothing On The Menu Except for Andy Capp Fries Bagged Potato Snacks... Had I eaten there, I would have enjoyed that Menu! (My Apologies to All, Especially Harrods If There Is any sort of silly misinformation in this bogus caption)
As long as nobody has told me "enough of the damned loft pix!" here is another. The OTR on the wall stands for Over the Rhine which is the neighborhood in Cincinnati where the building stands. It was settled in the 1800s by Germans and thus the name.

"Next week?" asked Maria. She was pissed.
Maria was Phillip's number one model, up until they broke up and she made a mess of his New York loft apartment. She tore down all his photos off the walls, threw a few chairs out the window and left his fishes to dry out, but Phillip came home just in time to put them back in water, where they survived. And even after all of that, he still manages to be professional at work, although he wishes he could push her in that shopping cart down the road into on coming traffic.
