Too much time on my hands today due to lockdown so I tried a little Photoshopping using a method which is very much en vogue- not quite as I visualised it but hey ho! :)
Humor is known as an excellent coping mechanism.
Stanford researcher Andrea Samson and psychology Professor James Gross ran an experiment where subjects were asked to improvise jokes. They found that people who made any kind of quip benefited, reporting both increases in positive emotions and decreases in negative emotions.
"If you are able to teach people to be more playful, to look at the absurdities of life as humorous, you see some increase in wellbeing," said Samson.
(It seems absurd to me that acedamics have taken so long to realise that modern society is self delusional madness. I mean just watch any TV advert and think about what it's actually saying).
As we British are wont to do, making light of the situation is the first port of call defence mechanism, to soothe collective anxiety. So whether that's quasi-philosophical coronavirus quotes or full-on coronavirus jokes, here is a sample of what's out there, to give you a little light relief.
Well I had planned to put several humourous Coronavirus jokes here, but after searching the internet for about an hour all I have found are several (much repeated and coppied) Jokes in bad taste.
it's odd we British normally have a fairly dark and sometimes "gallows" sense of humour, but it seems to be missing at the moment.

So day 3 of the U K official lockdown and as I sit in my toilet paper tent with my anti alian hat made out of baked nean tins , and my pyjamas with the logo written on it my other set have scooby doo on em I am wafted back to happier times when I could use the toilet at will and not have to learn karate to beat a 87 year old woman to the last tin of beans . and as we practice social distancing now more than ever I do wonder about Siamese twins that must be confusing as hell when they here rules like stand 2 meters apart , saying " yea I wish " again perspective for every agrophobic and introvert this must be like them pointing at us and saying naaaaaah see this is what my life feels like smug bastards

From lockdown, to mild meandering ...;)
A few days back there was an issue
with a palm-oil-tree. Tree won, I lost.
Now at the time the issue was just brushed
off by yours truly. No# 1 wife was not happy !
Long story short -- I was wrong, first time ever ;)
The Scratch, well, try as I might it did get infected.
So, no# 1 took away the computer & scooter/sidecar.
Nurse stuck a big needle in my butt, Dr gave me pills.
Next check-in is Sunday the 18th around noon-o'clock.
No Big Deal, the scratch is drying-up and itchy.
Yesterday the Nikkor 35 1.8 lens was used to
document some treasures. The knife on the
far right is a Swiss Army Knife, The Officer.
I've carried that one sense the 1970's......

Dear Prime Minister.
I understand your call for a second lockdown, I really do, and I understand that you too have been caught out recently by the same track and trace system that your cronies/colleagues have backed and you are now self isolating ....
well, good luck with that, but just to let you know that I'm getting out into the countryside and resorting to squeezing old puffballs to release their spores and capturing the moment on camera. I spent some time attempting to get the timing right between what my left hand was doing and my right ... and yes, this is to support my mental health during the pandemic.

This lockdown malarkey has got me drawing again, done from an old squirrel photo and given the white pencil on black paper treatment... It's surprising what happens when you have time on your hands!
As lockdown begins to ease with the amount of case decreasing hopefully for ever. The buses are slowly becoming more frequent. However, the routes are still all over the place and are all operating out of central with more of the modern buses taking the brunt of the work. So, here we see 1075 on a service 33 to Wester Hailes seen here at Atholl Crescent. Hopefully, in the next few weeks all the routes will be back to normal and the vintage fleet will be put into regular service which will be awesome.

This is near Weir Wood Reservoir, Sussex. It was our first short drive out for the permitted exercise since the UK lockdown began on 23rd March.

Tried a bit of low down wild flower photography with my iPhone. I used the portrait mode which artificially blurs the background, even providing a bit of bokeh, I think it works quite well.
Not sure what this looks like on a computer as it’s all been done on the phone, from the actual photograph to a bit of processing.
Hope everyone as had reasonably good weekend despite the lockdown.

Lothian Buses continue to operate a critical service across the City and Lothians.
Just to be clear to people these photos posted here recently are taken during my daily one hour walk and are not hunted for.
Here we have 561 heading up Drum Brae Drive at the end of Route 1 heading up the hill to Clermiston Terminus. 18th April 2020.

This photo marks mass direct action of a different nature that took place 154 years ago. In 1866, Lord Brownlow of Ashridge decided the rights of local people no longer applied to him and he fenced off over 400 acres of common land with no gates or access points. It cut off all paths and bridleways, depriving residents of their long-held grazing and wood-collection rights. The iron fence ran along the left hand side of this meadow.
Two liberal reformers reacted by organising a special train to bring in 120 tough Irish navvies from the East End of London who, under cover of darkness, dismantled two miles of the iron fence. The action caused a public sensation...and an inevitable law suit, which eventually ruled in favour of the reformers. It was a landmark legal decision. The sunny weather over last three days has brought out busy buses for the first time since we went back into lockdown. Most under pressure has been the 15 service which was running bus full on Friday and Saturday. It’s single deckers again today so may well end up similar late afternoon.
The hydrogen StreetDecks would probably be ideal buses for the 15 on sunny weekends particularly with eleven sitting in the depot today with just the 19 double deck. Also saw a 17 running full yesterday too much to the 727 benefit. Would be a positive image for First to have the StreetDecks rolling along the beach front promoting the cleaner air emissions these vehicles boast.
