We have made a joint decision to got into lockdown here.
This household that is.
So, here we go:
Day one:
P: "Great to have you here, at home. Let´s do some great makeup things with you!"
Me: "Ummm...okay."
P: "Facemasks! Good for your skin, nourishing, healthy, good stuff, you know!"
Me: "Ooohkay. Go ahead then."
P: "You...look...very....
Me:"What?"
P: "Errmmhh..scary. Who are you now, really?"
Me: "Dunno. Feel sticky and ugly, sorta?"
P: "Good for you. But no. You look scary. Really scary."

Far end of the Grassmarket where it meets the steeply curving Victoria Street, which comes out across from the National Library of Scotland at the top end.
Victoria Street and the Grassmarket are normally very busy, locals coming and going from work or university, lots of tourists taking photos and visiting the many bars. So odd not to have people in this scene that I have walked a thousand times.
It is also a great place to admire the way geology and architecture have blended in Edinburgh's Old Town - you can see the different levels of streets and buildings going up that road, as it slopes down the steep volcanic ridge off the Royal Mile. Ground level for some of these buildings is top floor level for others!

Lockdown has taken enough of my time. In the train to Amsterdam and 30 minutes later I’m wandering through a deserted town. I will show you some places, one every day if possible.

NZ, Hamilton, St Andrews - 20 April 2020 - during level 4 NZ lockdown people used to display teddy bears and toys in the windows and on the fences to cheer up the kids in the neigborhhood. Despite the empty streets, this was a touching message of humanity.
Well, Friday we go back into lockdown because of Covid. This should last until the beginning of December. Le Sélect will be closed. I am very sad. But, this is needed and President Macron did the right thing. But, I'm sad. Like during the last lockdown, more self-portraits to come...
In England, Hairdressers can officially reopen on July 4, together with pubs, bars and cinemas. Also, the two metre rule is being cut in half to one metre ‘plus'. I usually have a hair cut/trim every 6 weeks but I have not had a ‘professional’ trim since February.
At home, I have been cutting my fringe with kitchen scissors and 'hacking' away at my partner’s hair which now resembles a 1970’s ‘mullet’.
Having work ‘team meetings’ via Zoom has been interesting, seeing the changes in my colleagues, some look remarkably well and positively glamorous. I confess I am not in that camp as I could actually be an 'extra' from the film ‘Village of the Damned’ with at least 50 shades of grey!
taken a week or so ago while on one of many lockdown walks. Its really rather strange doing the walks now because unlike before I no longer see anyone. Rather nice really.
I took a photo here a week or so before this one and the crop in the field was more than a few shoots.
Might go back again this week and see how it looks now.
So here is a something a bit more quirky from me. The current lockdown is having a prefound effect on everyone right now and a part of my life that is effected now is the ability to head out and capture a sunrise or sunset which in the grand scheme of things is nothing. So I am turning my hand to capturing different things and this is my garden gnome standing on the lawn which I took using Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens. So stay safe everyone things will hopefully get back to normal soon.
