Lothian Buses continue to operate a range of services across our City to keep our key workers moving.
Lothian 1019 on Drum Brae South operating key route 21 to Royal Infirmary H. 16th April 2020.
"Attention all personnel. Security breach detected. System lockdown activated. Please contact your nearest system advisor for assistance." - "I need that door to open right now, Corporal."
Pretty much a follow up to this scene. Again inspired by Dead Space 2, even though I went for a different kind of atmosphere this time. In fact it seems reasonably closer to the daylight version of the first scene. In other news, I once again obey my tradition to finish the year with some sort of indoor scene.
Had a fancy for millionaires shortbread, but we don't have most of the ingredients. So - this is lockdown shortbread - no butter, no caster sugar, but still, fresh from the oven it is delicious.

As of today, an ankle monitoring bracelet
has been introduced into my simple life !
From lockdown, to mild meandering ...;)
A few days back there was an issue
with a palm-oil-tree. Tree won, I lost.
Now at the time the issue was just brushed
off by yours truly. No# 1 wife was not happy !
Long story short -- I was wrong, first time ever ;)
The Scratch, well, try as I might it did get infected.
So, no# 1 took away the computer & scooter/sidecar.
Nurse stuck a big needle in my butt, Dr gave me pills.
Next check-in is Sunday the 18th around noon-o'clock.
No Big Deal, the scratch is drying-up and itchy.
Yesterday the Nikkor 35 1.8 lens was used to
document some treasures. The knife on the
far right is a Swiss Army Knife, The Officer.
I've carried that one sense the 1970's......
Weather > More rain and then way more rain !
Will we be over in the mud cobra field soon ?
That call is up to no# 1 wife. She was really
furious with my backwoods medical act.
I'll do the best I can to get over there.
It will take a few days to play catchup ;-)

"Head in the clouds
Or under the weather
Havin' your fun
With two weeks in the sun
And the rest is December
But something's appearin'
It's blurrin' your vision
And it's cuttin' a shape
Like a hot razor blade
With a deadly precision
Now you're caught in a game
You don't know how to play....."
As lockdown begins to ease with the amount of case decreasing hopefully for ever. The buses are slowly becoming more frequent. However, the routes are still all over the place and are all operating out of central with more of the modern buses taking the brunt of the work. So, here we see 1075 on a service 33 to Wester Hailes seen here at Atholl Crescent. Hopefully, in the next few weeks all the routes will be back to normal and the vintage fleet will be put into regular service which will be awesome.
Made in Lockdown.
An art exhibition looking back at our experience of lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, with a focus on the creativity that came to the fore.
The exhibition is supported by a Near Neighbours Partner Grant, under the Covid Relief Funding called ‘Surge’.
Nubya Garcia by Colin Chapman
Nubya is a a London based tenor saxophone player who released her first album during lockdown (2020) when she was unable to tour and promote it. It received critical acclaim and a 2021 Mercury prize nomination.
Nubya was the most listened to album by the artist during lockdown in which he found a great inspiration and hope.
The colour and energy in the painting reflects the passion she puts into every performance.
The album can be listened to on
YouTube.

So day 3 of the U K official lockdown and as I sit in my toilet paper tent with my anti alian hat made out of baked nean tins , and my pyjamas with the logo written on it my other set have scooby doo on em I am wafted back to happier times when I could use the toilet at will and not have to learn karate to beat a 87 year old woman to the last tin of beans . and as we practice social distancing now more than ever I do wonder about Siamese twins that must be confusing as hell when they here rules like stand 2 meters apart , saying " yea I wish " again perspective for every agrophobic and introvert this must be like them pointing at us and saying naaaaaah see this is what my life feels like smug bastards
stay safe and be well love to world
a full meal breakfast of hotdog and eggs with my special mayo sauce. the bread is pan de sal and ever so important breakfast drink, cafe americano
There was me trying to take an early morning shot of an empty street and I didn't notice one man and his dog!
With little traffic in site, team Allellys heading west on the A63 at Welton with an ABB transformer for a wind farm substation at Cottingham.
A view of Rhyl Arriva Depot during the nationwide lockdown. Several vehicles are temporarily sidelined due to frequencies being cut for all but essential travel. (Taken during daily exercise).
Lothian Buses continue to operate a critical service across the City and Lothians.
Just to be clear to people these photos posted here recently are taken during my daily one hour walk and are not hunted for.
Here we have 561 heading up Drum Brae Drive at the end of Route 1 heading up the hill to Clermiston Terminus. 18th April 2020.
Australia......
3rd wave of COVID Infection centred on SYDNEY has forced more than half the population of nearly 26 million people into LOCKDOWN
and pushed the 13th worlds largest economy to the brink of recession.
With another 825 confirmed COVID cases today
21st August 2021
First day of new and tougher government restrictions on movement saw me on an 04.40 start.
My allocated vehicle was newly reliveried 27750 which had already been brought from its lane for a 15 minute deep clean prior to my first use defect check.
Too much time on my hands today due to lockdown so I tried a little Photoshopping using a method which is very much en vogue- not quite as I visualised it but hey ho! :)
Tried a bit of low down wild flower photography with my iPhone. I used the portrait mode which artificially blurs the background, even providing a bit of bokeh, I think it works quite well.
Not sure what this looks like on a computer as it’s all been done on the phone, from the actual photograph to a bit of processing.
Hope everyone as had reasonably good weekend despite the lockdown.
The granite steps descending from Park Circus are now being used for some serious training. With the gyms locked because of the pandemic, people are making good use of the outdoor opportunities the city can provide, despite the problems of weather, and that with real steps it is necessary to return down to the bottom before pounding up them again. Weights and exercise mats have now become commonplace in the parks of the city. Well done, guys; it puts my 10 km daily walks in the shade.
