So here is a something a bit more quirky from me. The current lockdown is having a prefound effect on everyone right now and a part of my life that is effected now is the ability to head out and capture a sunrise or sunset which in the grand scheme of things is nothing. So I am turning my hand to capturing different things and this is my garden gnome standing on the lawn which I took using Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens. So stay safe everyone things will hopefully get back to normal soon.

During the current lockdown in Melbourne, one of the four reasons for leaving home is for exercise, with a maximum of one other person. I met this couple resting at the end of my street after having crossed a busy road and walking several hundred metres. They were originally from Moscow and had been living in Melbourne for the past ten years. Their only daughter, a psychologist and their grand children were living in Singapore and the couple hadn't seen them for two years due to COVID. The husband couldn't speak English and the wife was happy to converse and answer my questions. They were living in government assisted accommodation. I asked if I could take their photograph, which the wife agreed to however the husband looked at his wife, mumbled to her and proceeded to get up and move away, she followed. Afterwards I thought, being from Russia, the husband would have been suspicious of a stranger taking a photograph of them. There was a sadness in their eyes and I wondered how they had managed during four lockdowns over the past 12 months, on their own.

As the population gets Stockholm syndrome from a year of lockdown there is still time for love albeit unsocially distanced
lockdown, shelter in place, stay at home, work from home, distance learning, essential services, curfew-- all phrases we are now becoming familiar with and using to "flatten the curve" and not allow the Covid-19 pandemic to overwhelm our hospitals and medical people, for whom we are so very grateful!! it appears that 21 states and the district of columbia are in some form of the shelter in place, as of 3/24

It's Sliders Sunday again,
my favorite day of the week
to PLAY . . .
Started with one post and padlock at our local beach,
and was amazed at all the images which popped up,
especially the straw cat in the middle,
guarding the locks!
Have a good week, everyone. Hope things will open up again soon. There's nothing more refreshing than visiting the beach for some salt air to clear our minds!
