Macro Mondays - Line Symmetry
#Flickr Friday - Forced Perspective
This hoverfly looks like he is flying a mission over hostile territory. In reality, he was flying over the rocks around my lavender looking for female hoverflies on the lavender. I will save those pictures for another group. HMM

I`s only a fire lighter and not a real gun :-)
The 4 bokeh circles are the fake plastic bullets,
You basically could cut the photo vertically through the middle and get the motif mirrored.
HMM to all :-)
I photoshopped all the crap out of the the original dragonfly photo (see below) so that you could really see the symmetry of the wings. There are a few minor variances but mostly the wings are mirror images of each other. It is truly phenomenal.
HMM.
Possibly the nicest bubble wrap I've come cross - I received it with a delivery some time ago. I thought it would work for this weeks Macro Mondays theme 'Line Symmetry'.
Dandelion are always nice to photograph. Even the ones that are not perfect. This bald one is photographed from above to make it looks semetrical.
Backlit leaf. Loved the assignment. Made me really look at the lines on leaves and the amazing imperfect perfection of each leaf.

The adult moth of this species has grey-brown wings with large areas of transparency. The bases of the forewings are white. The head and thorax are white with black dots. The legs and abdomen are red. The moth has a wingspan of about 5 cms.
The moth has an amazing "frothing" defence mechanism, shared by other moths of the genus Amerila. When disturbed, it exudes a frothy yellow fluid from glands beside the eyes, and makes a sizzling noise.
The species is found in :
Northern Territory,
Queensland, and
New South Wales,
Australia
This little snippet of Columbine leaf has multiple lines of symmetry. The main stem has symmetrically placed secondary leaflets and on each of the little sections, the leaf sections are symmetrically arranged. Look carefully at the individual leaflets. There is near symmetry along each of the central veins! Ain't Nature marvellous!!! HMM

Macro of a Waterford crystal water glass. It was hard to get a symmetric shot of this because of the glass's curve, but I finally succeeded. Couldn't decide between the lovely color (on my photostream) and the B&W version (here), but the patterns are clearer in B&W - so are the two knome-like faces that appear out of the shadows.

This week's Macro Mondays effort, on the theme of “Line Symmetry” brings us a cricket ball, in celebration of England stuffing the Aussies 5-0 in the ODI's. HMM y'all!
This is a segment of a plastic kitchen utensil which allows you to finely cut lettuce, cabbage and onions to name a few items it can be used for. The red effect is caused by adding water and food colouring below in the chopping bowl. Hopefully, you like my abstract take on this weeks Macro Monday theme of Line Symmetry HMM
