Tuesday 6th September 2016, at 4pm GMT, sees the release of my new mini print Shore Line. Released in an edition of only 100, the print features a miniature street installation created in Honolulu for POW! WOW! Hawaii urban art festival earlier this year.
The mini print is being released online through Andipa gallery and continues my exploration of natural environments within urban settings, the theme of my last solo show Miniaturesque.
Printed at 1:1 scale to the original installation, Shore Line is guaranteed to evoke those magical days of summer (stuck inside a sweltering car, in a traffic jam).
Shore Line is available Tuesday 6th September, at 4pm GMT.

RUGBY (Durant Motors) (1924 - 1931)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seen here when brand new in January 1977 on the side forecourt of St Albans Garage is AEC Reliance / Plaxton PPH 434R, RS4 of London Country / Green Line. The vehicle was one of the first batch of new Green Line coaches aimed to renew and update the image of local coach services that at that time were often being operated by 25 year old RF's or newer, but extremely spartan, Leyland Nationals.
PPH 434R later worked for Colletts of West Bromwich, surviving into the early 2000's with Grand Prix Coaches of Brough, Cumbria.

Cross River Rail works in Brisbane have seen an extended closure of some key lines, include access to the southside freight terminals. So, a temporary container loading pad has been opened near the end of the Pinkenba branch, resulting in freight trains on the line for the first time in many years. Without a direct link from the North Coast line, trains are operated in push-pull mode.
One result is a view like this taken at Doomben, with the Aurizon train on the left having loaded and waiting to follow a suburban train, while the Pacific National train on the right is waiting to head down to the loading pad. 13 January 2024.

The Aon and Prudential Ii buildings behind Illinois Center buildings.
This was a homecoming of sorts: my first visit to the club in twenty years. I was Old Republic International’s first outside investor-relations counsel, working with top management for six years. The company is headquartered in the building. We held several meetings in the club’s private dining room, discussing communications and strategies for quarterly earnings announcements and conference calls and scripts for investor meetings. A.C. Zucaro, Old Republic’s CEO then and now, is one of the best company leaders in my experience and a true gentleman.
Perched atop the Old Republic Building at 307 N. Michigan Ave., the Sky-Line Club is one of the oldest private membership facilities in the city. Nearly 100 years ago, an old ale house from the Sussex region of southern England was carefully dismantled and shipped to Chicago. It was then carefully reconstructed here on the top floor of one of Chicago's early office towers. Paintings and furnishings from the original pub grace the interior today. The intimate space recently underwent renovation and also features an open-air terrace with fabulous 360-degree views.

3265 rolls through Marrickville with a heritage train bound for Sydney Terminal.
With the impending suspension of the Bankstown Line in south-western Sydney for metro conversion, over the weekend of 14/15 Sept 2024, Transport Heritage NSW arranged a series of heritage train rides.
One such train was hauled by 3265 running "The Bankstown Circle" (a previous common stopping pattern for Bankstown services) heading out from Sydney via Strathfield and returning via Sefton Park Junctions and Bankstown.
The other train was heritage electric set F1 offering shuttles between Sydney Terminal and Bankstown, with some extending to Villawood whilst the final trip of the day ran the full circle in the opposite direction to 3265's train.
