I was hoping for a nice sunrise as a reward for getting up at 4:00 am. I had to find a place within an hour drive from Idaho Falls. I wasn't sure which direction all of the action would be happening in and where the clouds would be so I needed some place that I could shoot in many different directions. And I love reflections so somewhere with water. Decisions, decisions! I got in the car and had about 2 blocks before I had to turn and commit. And the decision is (was) ...Camas National Wildlife Refuge north of Idaho Falls.

As I enjoyed the fresh air, sounds of the abundant wildlife, and the beautiful sunrise I was reminded of Galen Rowell's famous quote,

"You only get one sunrise and one sunset a day, and you only get so many days on the planet. A good photographer does the math and doesn't waste either."

And I was glad I made the decision to get up early and come to this place.

I love reflections and always manage to find a nice reflecting pool at low tide, my penultimate image before I shoot away to the city of Bath and points West for a few days.

There are moments when autumn's colors are almost surreal. Off the charts. They pop with fantasy-like colors and intensity. This was a beautiful autumn season, and we got some really intense colors. This is one of my favorite images I got this autumn, as I love reflections, quiet rivers, and little buildings nested among the foliage. I got all of that in this shot, and the blanket of leaves in the foreground is pretty fantastic, too. Is there any photographer who does not make a selfie these days? Or should we say are there any people who did not make a selfie these days?

When I saw this installation at Vancouver Mural Festival, I could not help making a selfie too. I am always tempted to do self portrait when I see a reflective surface. I love reflection so much.

Oh anyway are you able to see me in the reflection?

Happy hazy Sunday!

Week#123 - Before & After - I love reflections. This was taken at McLaren's Falls in Tauranga awhile back while shooting fall/autumn photos and I have used the resulting photo in another recent challenge. I obviously turned the photo upside down first then I worked in PSE15 using the b&w newspaper treatment and posterized it to enhance it in order to create an illusion, which is always such fun for me. I do like to simply create, when I have the time!!

As I'm travelling to Sussex today, I thought I'd put a couple of shots of a recent night down the coast! This was a high tide reflection shot, of the salt marsh area where the river Ogmore reaches the sea. It always fills with water on a spring tide. I love reflections! Roll river roll , is a beautiful song by Ricard Hawley, and is perfect!

It’s fascinating how much interesting information & places our world has to offer ♥️

"WIARTON, Ont. - Canada's foremost furry forecaster, Wiarton Willie, saw his shadow this morning as he emerged from his den.

According to tradition, Willie's glimpsing of his shadow means there will be another six weeks of winter. Not seen his shadow would have meant an early spring."

boohoo!

I love reflections and this Tricolored Heron's is no exception. The bird was foraging and I waited for the ripples to disappear before snapping the image.

Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk in Worcester

I'm not going to ask you to give me a kiss. Nor that you ask me for forgiveness when I think that you have done something wrong or that you have been mistaken. Nor will I ask you to hug me when I need you most, or invite me to dinner on our anniversary day. I will not ask you to travel the world, to live new experiences, much less to ask you to give me your hand when we are in the middle of a city. I'm not going to ask you to tell me how beautiful I am, even if it's a lie, or write me anything nice. Neither will I ask you to call me to tell me how it was during the day, or to tell me that you miss me. I will not ask you to thank me for everything I do for you, nor to worry for me when my spirits are on the ground, and of course, I will not ask you to support me in my decisions. I'm not going to ask you to listen to me when I have a thousand stories to tell you. I'm not going to ask you to do anything, not even stay by my side forever. Because if I have to ask you, I do not want it anymore. "

i love reflections of architecture.

I love reflections, here walkers on the trail around Sprague Lake crossing a rustic wood bridge

My enduring memory of our visit to Ullswater will be the wonderful sunset on our first night. I love reflections and the conditions were just perfect. We plan to stay at Keswick on our next visit to the Lake District and I hope we're blessed like this again! The whole trip lifted my spirits, it was food for the soul.

Talk about reflecting your surroundings, lol! This actually was a highly polished black car with pin stripes that took on the colors of everything around it. Grass, other cars, umbrellas, lawn chairs, the works.. Personally, to me car shows are all about reflections. I love the oldest rust buckets, the first 'flivers' and pre-1960 models. I love reflections in chrome - bumpers, hubcaps, windows, anything reflective. This day was the first I devoted exclusively to using my 35mm lens. I think it worked well enough I'll do it again.

When my dog finds something good he

Will grab it with his teeth and won't let go.

And so am I when I feel something good.

I want to hold it strong and not let go.

I will hold it by all means – even with my teeth.

But sometime what we want to keep

Does not have a form. Its elusive.

And yet – I find it much better trying to hold to

Something good, as elusive as will be,

Then to try and fix a broken thing.

To close the concept: what's best than waiting the rising of the summer stars with the right one? That's fine, but remember: starry nights do not show their best at sea level.

Good for love, but not to let your deepest astral thoughts arise :)

I posted an image like this before...but at different times the reflection would be clearer and I think this was about the calmest this water was while I was here...I love reflections!

Have a wonderful day all...one more day off...they sure go fast! :P

Swinging Bridge is a popular destination in Yosemite Valley for swimming while having a great frontal view of Yosemite Falls. The land in the area resembles that of a beach.

I made a promise to myself that I would not photograph this Scottish icon - however it just begs for it every time I drive past, and I love reflections. I've now got an ever growing collection of images of this castle. Well worth the small entrance fee to look around the interior.

Comments and critiques most welcome.
