It was a. strange day yesterday, moody with occasional bursts of sunlight. I don't know why but I felt it was a day to do something with leaves. A quick wander through the woods checking the kaleidoscope of leaves at my feet and I had a pocketful of jewels. I decided to go with the sycamore, as they were bigger and hopefully easier. I always love reflections so dropped down to the river and looked for a relatively calm stretch, not easy after last night's rain. As always the leaves evolved and took me into different directions. I wanted to do a. circle, but ended up with this beautiful eye or kiss, both beautiful symbols in these times where I really miss eye contact and a. kiss with loved ones. The First Leaves of Autumn is by The Fureys and Davey Arthur. I also found out yesterday that my twin daughters have tested positive for Covid. I had a zoom meeting with them and luckily they were in good spirits with only mild symptoms.

Taken the same evening but before this years Bonfire Festival in Hastings, Hastings beach front fun fair is wonderfully reflected in the dead calm of the adjacent boating lake. The little aeroplane atop of the tall girder of one of the rides is a fine replica of a DC3!
I love reflections and I think this is one of the best I've ever photographed as I went out with just my little compact to see what I could photograph. And on the morning we left, the Mrs convinced me to ride the rollercoaster with her. I know it's not the biggest or scariest in the world and even though I'm getting too old for such things I didn't want to disappoint! I was quite pleased we went around just the once...
I just love reflections and this stretch of the Esk, with a slow flow, suits them. "The Balcony" at Grosmont, is favoured by local anglers.
I love reflections on the water. This one is from the golden hour just after dawn at Reelfoot lake a couple of weeks ago.
I love reflections! This one was taken from the boat launch area in Fairmont, WV. I usually treat these water images in the regular orientation. But in post processing I decided to try it this way. Let me know what you think!

When I saw this installation at Vancouver Mural Festival, I could not help making a selfie too. I am always tempted to do self portrait when I see a reflective surface. I love reflection so much.

Week#123 - Before & After - I love reflections. This was taken at McLaren's Falls in Tauranga awhile back while shooting fall/autumn photos and I have used the resulting photo in another recent challenge. I obviously turned the photo upside down first then I worked in PSE15 using the b&w newspaper treatment and posterized it to enhance it in order to create an illusion, which is always such fun for me. I do like to simply create, when I have the time!!
SHANGRILLA HEAVEN ON EARTH:
This place is owned and developed by an army officer. The concept of Shangrilla belongs to a famous Chinese novel "HEAVEN ON EARTH" . the story is that a plane crashed in a very beautiful place. All the passengers died except for one. The Only survivor thought that he was dead and was in Heaven.... he realized that he is alive after a long time when he was rescued by a rescue team.
As I'm travelling to Sussex today, I thought I'd put a couple of shots of a recent night down the coast! This was a high tide reflection shot, of the salt marsh area where the river Ogmore reaches the sea. It always fills with water on a spring tide. I love reflections! Roll river roll , is a beautiful song by Ricard Hawley, and is perfect!

Talk about reflecting your surroundings, lol! This actually was a highly polished black car with pin stripes that took on the colors of everything around it. Grass, other cars, umbrellas, lawn chairs, the works.. Personally, to me car shows are all about reflections. I love the oldest rust buckets, the first 'flivers' and pre-1960 models. I love reflections in chrome - bumpers, hubcaps, windows, anything reflective. This day was the first I devoted exclusively to using my 35mm lens. I think it worked well enough I'll do it again.
