Rubbing shoulders with the upmarket premium boutiques in the grounds of the Phuket FantaSea in Phuket, Thailand is this sprinkling of gondolas, offering low end goods, though still at inflated prices. These gondolas were selling bags, backpacks. stuffed plush figures, toys and such like, with one of them even selling Christmas decorations. The atmosphere in the piazza surrounding the Phuket FantaSea is pretty vibrant and colourful, a good precursor indeed to the simply fabulous and brilliant main Fantasy of a Kingdom show, about which I have mentioned earlier in this album. February 2010: Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga were announced as the new spokeswomen for the MAC Viva Glam campaign. As spokespeople, both Lauper and Gaga have designed signature lipstick colors (Gaga's is an icy, bubblegum pink; Lauper's is a warm, striking red). All proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund.

Times Square is a major intersection in Manhattan, a borough of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. The Times Square area consists of the blocks between Sixth and Eighth Avenues from east to west, and West 40th and West 53rd Streets from south to north, making up the western part of the commercial area of Midtown Manhattan.
Times Square, nicknamed "The Crossroads of the World," has achieved the status of an iconic world landmark and has become a symbol of New York City. Times Square is principally defined by its spectaculars, animated, digital advertisements.
Outside of the Dotonbori food street in Osaka, Japan is this canal . The bridge over the canal is famous in its own right. This scene reminded me vaguely of the Global Village, a sprawling shopping event put out during the annual Dubai Shopping Festival- they usually create a scene like this along both sides of a canal. This picture is taken looking down the Dotonbori canal beside the Glico running man sign which is visible to the left. Detailed notes about the running man LED sign and the Namba- Dotonbori district of Osaka I am in (when this picture was taken) appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). Apliu Street has a huge flea market containing electronics, electrical components, and related items. A shopper can find both new and used merchandise in the area. Apliu Street is well known for geek shopping.

Phuket FantaSea is all about razzle, dazzle and razzmatazz and the many neon displays right at the entrance bear testimony to this. The 'Fantasy of a Kingdom' show we will see in the theatre is nothing short of superlative, and is full of colour, dazzle, exotic costumes and showmanship, with colourful props, pyrotechnics (yes, indoors) and the use of several animals, including no less than six large elephants in one part of the show. Sadly photography is strictly prohibited inside the auditorium and this restriction is strictly enforced, with them making you check in even your cellphone as you enter the venue. The do look after it and keep it in a safe and give you a token for it, but having your expensive iPhone sitting in a locker somewhere while you are distracted by a stage show is something that makes you cringe. Another selfie of me on the Dotonbori food street in Osaka, Japan. Once the prime theatre district of the city, diminishing interest in traditional performing arts saw the area go into decline. The final nail in the coffin was extensive bombing during WW-II. Mercufully, Dotonbori rose from the ashes in a completely new avatar- that of a prime foodie destination and is a must see in Osaka. Historically a merchant city, Osaka has also been known as the nation's kitchen (tenka no daidokoro) and served as a center for the rice trade during the Edo period. I was fascinated by this top ten list, filled with things I would never buy. Particularly #3: Oxygen Bar. Actually I don't believe that. It's NJ, not CA, and aren't oxygen bars very 90s?
