Another selfie of me on the Dotonbori food street in Osaka, Japan. Once the prime theatre district of the city, diminishing interest in traditional performing arts saw the area go into decline. The final nail in the coffin was extensive bombing during WW-II. Mercufully, Dotonbori rose from the ashes in a completely new avatar- that of a prime foodie destination and is a must see in Osaka. Historically a merchant city, Osaka has also been known as the nation's kitchen (tenka no daidokoro) and served as a center for the rice trade during the Edo period. I was fascinated by this top ten list, filled with things I would never buy. Particularly #3: Oxygen Bar. Actually I don't believe that. It's NJ, not CA, and aren't oxygen bars very 90s?

This is a DMX controlled drumkit project I built for myself. All of my drums have a border of RGB lights which have a DMX signal converter to create a dynamic light show as it's being played.

My next port of call in Phuket was the Phuket FantaSea- a Las Vegas style theatrical show that portrays the customs, traditions and beliefs of the Thai people. With a cast of hundreds on stage, beautiful stage designs and special effects, this entertaining and spectacular show is something one should not miss when one visits Phuket. We will get there in a moment, but on the ride there by the van the tour company sent to pick me up (hotel pick up and drop are generally included), I spotted this near empty indoor night market at the end of Patong. This is the Sai Kor Night Square, Patong. I could not find any reference or notes to it on the internet, and looking at how empty it is, it's not a very popular place as well, so let's leave it at that. (Phuket, Thailand, Oct/ Nov. 2019)

The next few pictures are scenes from inside and outside several of the facilities on the piazza outside the main theatre of the Phuket FantaSea in Phuket, Thailand. This is yet another of those upmarket boutiques on the property. My favourite colour is white, and I simply loved the plain vanilla white decor- a true touch of class indeed made up simply of two things- the colour white and several elephant figures all around.
