President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo leads the government's social justice and services to the poor caravan during an Easter Sunday activity (March 23) at the Skating Rink in Burnham Park, Baguio City where she personally distributed basic goods and services to the poor residents of the country's Summer Capital. The basic commodities awarded by the President to the poor include the Certificate to operate Tindahan Natin, assorted vegetable seeds, TESDA scholarships training for work vouchers, Botika Natin Certificates, Libreng Tawag sa Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the medical dental mission.

This sidewalk leads past a fast-changing area of steam vents (fumaroles), mudpots, and boiling springs. A rotten-egg smell permeates the air, affirming the presence of hydrogen sulfide gas - a forerunner in the formation of sulfur. A deep within the Earth, a network of pockets of partially molten rock forms the active Lassen magmatic system. Heat generated from the magma warms groundwater to a boil. The water bubbles and steams upward through cracks and appears at Sulphur Works and other hydrothermal areas found within the park.

I never thought that this after work encounter would be the last 80 that I would see before the entire fleet was retired and then sold.

This is the Walsingham Abbey Grounds in Little Walsingham.

The Grounds contains the ruins of the original Priory, founded c. 1153 by Augustinian Canons, including the magnificent East Window, the Refectory, Crypt and Holy Wells. A place of pilgrimage for nearly all the kings and queens of England from Henry III in 1226 up to and including Henry VIII in 1511, visitors can discover the site of the original Holy House, excavated in 1961, and the legend of the Knight's Gate in the northern wall.

The central door leads to the main patio which is surrounded by Baroque arches. The main patio in the central part of the building had arches around it supported by tall, thick Baroque columns. Through this patio was access to the Audience Hall, the tax collection room, the consulate, the office of mining regulation, the General Treasury, the Royal Chapel and the Throne Room.

UP 4303, an EMD SD70M, leads an eastbound storage coal hopper train from the Illinois Railway Museum to West Chicago on the UP Belvidere Subdivision. This is quite a rare site for two reasons. One to see a UP Coal with an EMD leader, and two to see a coal train on the Belvidere Subdivision. As the normal traffic is autoracks going to Chrysler in Belvidere.
The Sound of Thunder is BEARS club (British European American Racing) motorcycles premier event in New Zealand. Held at Mike Pero Motorsport Park (Ruapuna Racetrack) near Christchurch since the early 80's it is still attracting good entries. This year the event was fortunate to run both days after a change in Covid levels after the first day. These photos are from the Saturday which was well run, stayed on programme but still felt laid back with no serious incidents. Please enjoy the photos.

The Tudor Pull is a ceremonial event for Thames Watermen's Cutters which is organised each year by the Thames Traditional Rowing Association (TTRA).The cutters escort the Thames Royal Shallop 'Jubilant' rowed by members of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen, from Hampton Court Palace to the Tower of London to deliver a 'Stela' to the Governor of the Tower for safekeeping.
The 'Stela' is a piece of medieval water pipe made from a hollowed tree trunk which stands on a base of timber from the old Richmond Lock and which bears the coat of arms of the Waterman's Company.
The 'Stela' is handed over to the custody of her Majesty's Bargemasters at King Henry's Royal Palace at Hampton Court to be carried by river to the Tower of London accompanied by His Gracious Majesty King Henry VIII and his Queen in the vanguard of the Royal Procession on board the Royal Shallop 'Jubilant'.
The cutters are rigged with full ceremonial canopies and flags and rowed with four oars by fully-liveried crews. In keeping with the traditions of the Watermen's Cutters, passengers are carried.
