WSOR 4003 4008 and 4079 leads the T-002 as it sits tied down awaiting a night run to Chicago at Zenda, WI.

66136 leads 6D72 , the 11:32 Hull Dairycotes - Rylstone Quarry, empty Tarmac hoppers along the Swinden branch on 12 March 2009. The train is about to pass over the Manually Operated Level Crossing with gates at Rylstone.

Not sure what the post was for, looks like it the sort of post that held an illuminated sign; warning of the crossing rather than a signal. I visited the branch recently and – although overgrown - the post was still there in 2024.

MNCR 217 leads a afternoon commuter train along the Hudson. While most people think of Penn Central as having black diesels, that wasn't the case in the NYC commuter zone. As part of a 1970 rehabilitation program by the then new MTA; this catching blue and yellow paint scheme was applied to PC's FL9 fleet. The paint scheme carried over to Conrail and MNCR 201 wears that scheme.

Late night boredom leads to me messing about with strobes and taking pictures of myself looking stupid ..... what of it?!

On Boxing Day i was roped in to shooting a family group shot for my grandmother in law, first shot was 10 people and the second about 19!! It was outside, i forgot my umbrella clamp so had to make do with a small softbox and a second light on the background .... managed to get a reasonable enough shot for the set up, but i told myself i need to practice ALOT this year!

Anyway, this is the first time for 2011 and it hasn't started well! Arms in the way blocking light to the face and casting difficult shadows etc etc .... Anyhow, onwards and upwards!

Oh and get to the gym chubby chin!!

Strobist: YN-460 approx 1/4 power through softbox high and slightly to the left, Canon EZ 540 camera left behind me to nuke the background. Both triggered with RF 602's. Also had a reflector camera right to fill some shadows though it didn't have much effect with my arms in the way!

The top insurance agents have discovered a system that brings auto insurance leads into their agency every day. It’s not in the phone book or telemarketing. They have discovered world of internet marketing at least in some form.

What are your choices for Auto Insurance Leads?

Many insurance agents still get their auto insurance leads the old school way, by beating the streets, weekly network groups, phone books, telemarketing, mailings, etc. This is a lot of hard time consuming work. These methods require you to do all the work to get leads. This has to be done every month to keep leads coming in. You have to remember 2 things. Insurance agents are salespeople and advisors. Second, a lot of people are searching for auto insurance every day. So to be successful and make your job easier, you need to understand how internet marketing can give you several choices to get get you auto insurance leads month after month.

Remember you need 4-5 lead sources that work together in a system.

Internet leads: With internet leads, people are actually searching online and complete a quote form to get a quote. This come is 2 forms. The first is that you buy these internet leads form a lead company. This is easy because you do absolutely nothing, except pay for the lead and compete against other agents. The 2nd option is to have a website, drive people to your website, to fill out a quote form. These are free leads and you are not competing against anyone else, but takes some work to get your site optimized and get traffic to your site. This usually takes about 2 months.

Auto Insurance LeadsMy favorite way to get Auto Insurance Leads is with facebook ads. With Facebook ads, you are not competing with anyone else on the lead, and you don’t need to optimize your website to be on the 1st [page of Google. All you need is a facebbok page with a quote form. This is easy to do.

You don’t need to hire people to do this for you at thousands of dollars. AutoPilot-InsuranceMarketing has made a system that shows you exactly how to do this.

This peatlands walk leads to a bothy screening of the film Layerscape, created collaboratively by Laura Harrington with Sarah Bouttell, Debbie Bower and sound artist Lee Patterson. Layerscape is a slow, immersive journey filmed over a year and inspired by the decomposition and layering of vegetation over thousands of years. The film explores vast and different peatlands from the uplands and blanket bogs of Allendale and Killhope to the ancient border mires in Kielder forest, observing the shifting and passing of time and viewing the power of nature to heal itself in multiple ways. Developed in collaboration with The North Pennines AONB Partnership.

Biography

Laura Harrington is an artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her most recent project was in partnership with VARC (Visual Arts in Rural Communities) and North Pennines AONB Partnership that looks at the landscape of peatlands in Northumberland. She is also currently researching a collaborative project with Kaffe Matthews, to make an opera from the sonification of Atlantic salmon data from their journeys up and down the river Tyne. Other recent work includes CURRENT with artist Jamie Allen, a lighting intervention for 20 beach huts along the promenade in Blyth that respond to the wind. In March 2010 Laura completed an artist residency with the Environment Agency North East, developing a number of different projects for Northumberland.

IRT Subway 191st Street Tunnel in Washington Heights. This tunnel brings me memories of my high school days. It is about 1/2 mile long and creepy as hell. At the time I took this picture there was a good flow of people passing through it, so it wasn't too bad. The graffiti was pretty mediocre, it reminded me of a middle school bathroom, with gossip and insults. Overall the tunnel is still impressive, especially because it leads to the deepest station in the NYC subway system: 191st Street on the (1) line (almost 100 feet below the street).
