A recirculating brook leads to a pond with a tall fountain at its center. The water tumbles from a stream into an upper pond, cascades over a wide lip of stone at the pond's edge, and falls into channels that run beneath our feet to a lower pond. The moving, sparkling water, impressive stonework, and the garden itself -- as well as the Central Gardens beyond -- are all visual treats.

A water fountain in the upper pond acts as a centralized focal point to see and listen. The fountain is cleverly located off-center to create gentle waves that pass over a stone veneer weir dam at a forty-five degree angle and flow through a series of parallel channels into the lower pond. The walkway between the ponds beckons visitors to view and touch the flowing water."

16 November 2018, San José de León, Mutatá, Antioquia, Colombia: Sociologist Ana EloÃsa Gómez leads a workshop on forgiveness and reconciliation. Following the 2016 peace treaty between FARC and the Colombian government, a group of ex-combatant families have purchased and now cultivate 36 hectares of land in the territory of San José de León, municipality of Mutatá in Antioquia, Colombia. A group of 27 families first purchased the lot of land in San José de León, moving in from nearby Córdoba to settle alongside the 50-or-so families of farmers already living in the area. Today, 50 ex-combatant families live in the emerging community, which hosts a small restaurant, various committees for community organization and development, and which cultivates the land through agriculture, poultry and fish farming. Though the community has come a long way, many challenges remain on the way towards peace and reconciliation. The two-year-old community, which does not yet have a name of its own, is located in the territory of San José de León in Urabá, northwest Colombia, a strategically important corridor for trade into Central America, with resulting drug trafficking and arms trade still keeping armed groups active in the area. Many ex-combatants face trauma and insecurity, and a lack of fulfilment by the Colombian government in transition of land ownership to FARC members makes the situation delicate. Through the project De la Guerra a la Paz (‘From War to Peace’), the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia accompanies three communities in the Antioquia region, offering support both to ex-combatants and to the communities they now live alongside, as they reintegrate into society. Supporting a total of more than 300 families, the project seeks to alleviate the risk of re-victimization, or relapse into violent conflict.

S 317 leads the train on its return arrival to Dungog after the whole train was turned via a triangle.
They are working a special train to Dungog 250 kms north of Sydney NSW on 13 February 2010 to launch the restored NSW loco 4204.
The three GM locomotives were from 3 different railways. 4204 ( leading) is one of the first six NSW diesel electric passenger diesel locomotives built in 1955-1956. There were earlier shunting and mixed traffic diesel locomotives but these were the first GM locomotives.
NSWGR 4204 has just been restored to operation by the preservation group Lachlan Valley Railway and it leads the train painted in its NSWGR livery.
The second locomotive is the oldest operating main line diesel electric locomotive in Australia GM 10 a 1500 HP A1A-A1A GM in 1service in June 1952 for Commonwealth Railways which operated a 1100 mile route between South Australia and Western Australia much of this running through desert and across the infamous Nullarbor Plain which had very poor water supplies for steam locomotives.
The third locomotive is the youngest of the very similar trio: Victorian Railways S class 317 which entered service in 1961. The two trailing locomotives are owned by Southern Shorthaul Railroad and are used in " hook and pull" commercial services.

The loco is in the base blue colour of GNER, with the white stripe of National Express East Coast and then the branding of East Coast, a subsidiary of Directly Operated Railways (formed by the DfT) that held the franchise from November 2009 to the Virgin takeover in 2015.

UP 4303, an EMD SD70M, leads an eastbound storage coal hopper train from the Illinois Railway Museum to West Chicago on the UP Belvidere Subdivision. This is quite a rare site for two reasons. One to see a UP Coal with an EMD leader, and two to see a coal train on the Belvidere Subdivision. As the normal traffic is autoracks going to Chrysler in Belvidere.
The Sound of Thunder is BEARS club (British European American Racing) motorcycles premier event in New Zealand. Held at Mike Pero Motorsport Park (Ruapuna Racetrack) near Christchurch since the early 80's it is still attracting good entries. This year the event was fortunate to run both days after a change in Covid levels after the first day. These photos are from the Saturday which was well run, stayed on programme but still felt laid back with no serious incidents. Please enjoy the photos.
