It took quite awhile driving around on back roads to find the little white Galpin church. I don't think it is abandoned, but I do think it is very seldom used. The little church is at the end of a very desolate country road near the Fort Peck lake and dam. I assume that when the dam was being built in the 1940s this church was formed. They certainly couldn't have put it in a more beautiful location!

Tom Ingram leads the chasing pack into Luffield Corner to start another lap of what would be a perfect weekend for the young driver. He would win both races of the weekend with fastest laps in both races. Later in the year he would become the 2010 champion.

S 317 leads the train on its return arrival to Dungog after the whole train was turned via a triangle.
They are working a special train to Dungog 250 kms north of Sydney NSW on 13 February 2010 to launch the restored NSW loco 4204.
The three GM locomotives were from 3 different railways. 4204 ( leading) is one of the first six NSW diesel electric passenger diesel locomotives built in 1955-1956. There were earlier shunting and mixed traffic diesel locomotives but these were the first GM locomotives.
NSWGR 4204 has just been restored to operation by the preservation group Lachlan Valley Railway and it leads the train painted in its NSWGR livery.
The second locomotive is the oldest operating main line diesel electric locomotive in Australia GM 10 a 1500 HP A1A-A1A GM in 1service in June 1952 for Commonwealth Railways which operated a 1100 mile route between South Australia and Western Australia much of this running through desert and across the infamous Nullarbor Plain which had very poor water supplies for steam locomotives.
The third locomotive is the youngest of the very similar trio: Victorian Railways S class 317 which entered service in 1961. The two trailing locomotives are owned by Southern Shorthaul Railroad and are used in " hook and pull" commercial services.
LSLO Pool 47 810 (D1924) leads 47 805 (D1935) south through Huntingdon, working 1Z47, on October 17th 2024.
47 810 was built by Brush as D1924, entering service in December 1965. She was renumbered 47 247 in December 1973, 47 655 in September 1986, and finally to 47 810, in February 1989. She is currently owned by Locomotive Services Limited.
47 805 was built by Brush as D1935, entering service in March 1966. She was renumbered 47 257 in June 1974, 47 650 in July 1986, and finally to 47 805, in August 1989. She is also currently owned by Locomotive Services Limited.

The Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA) has been awarded the United Nations 2018 Momentum for Change Award for its outstanding contribution to addressing climate change. The fund will receive the award in the category of Financing For Climate Friendly Investment. Every year, the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat, which leads the Momentum for Change awards, celebrates initiatives that are advancing climate resilience and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The fund was awarded for being one of the most innovative, scalable, and practical examples of addressing climate change. The award recognises successful financial innovations for adaptation and climate mitigation. It aims to highlight climate activities promoting low-carbon growth and highly resilient communities through the use of innovative financing mechanisms.
