Astonishing clouds !

The iPhone is not dead and can still get pleasing images whatever the weather.

The Queen Victoria pub

We ate our evening meal here on Friday evening. We took my brother in law and niece too.

The pub is the building forward in the photo. The Premier Inn is to the left.

At Towneley park

The wooden posts in the foreground are the edges of a carpark that’s seldom used, usually just when there’s a wedding on at Towneley hall.

Mesh is laid underneath the grass to prevent cars getting stuck in wet weather.

I used HDR in Snapseed on this photo.

Flowers sent to my wife

She’s been unwell with Flu for a few days (we both had the PCR test for Covid and tested negative).

These beautiful flowers were delivered this morning, and were from a family friend.

Hope they brighten everyone’s day up, as they have with ours.

A PRAYER IN SPRING

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;

And give us not to think so far away

As the uncertain harvest; keep us here

All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,

Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;

And make us happy in the happy bees,

The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird

That suddenly above the bees is heard,

The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,

And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,

The which it is reserved for God above

To sanctify to what far ends He will,

But which it only needs that we fulfil.

A one second exposure did the trick for Cauldron Falls. The flow was not much in June 2022 compared with Feb 2022 when we had two storms.

settings shutter 1 second, ISO 50, f/1.8 main camera on back.

The Towneley park music pavilion

Unfortunately the music pavilion is no longer there… it was quite a natural amphitheatre too. The pavilion was built in 1928 and sadly burned down in the 1960’s.

We never even knew about it until last weekend. Our normal path was closed, due to a collapsed bridge. We took a different route and meandered round until we came to these steps, and discovered the former music pavilion.

Explore #24 on December 14, 2021

An evening view of The Independent, the tallest residential skyscraper in the United States west of the Mississippi River as of December 2021. At a height of 690 ft (210 m), it is the tallest building in Austin, surpassing the 683 ft (208 m) tall Austonian, another residential skyscraper. Completed in 2019, the 58-story Independent has been nicknamed the Jenga Tower, and the Tetris Tower.

Austin is the capital of the State of Texas, as well as the seat of Travis County. With a population of just under one million residents, Austin is the 11th largest city in the United States. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Area, now with a population of 2.3M, is the fastest growing large metropolitan area in the country having added more than 579,000 residents since 2010.

In the style of the famous Route 66 - Pano using iPhone 13 Pro Max, standing in the middle of the road while Gazza was looking out for any traffic. But this was the best position to do this image. It is north of Grasmere in the Lake District.

The weather in the Yorkshire Dales was not so good so the photo planning included an option to go to Ambleside, look in a few sports and outdoor clothing shops and then do a short route round some points of interest. Needless to say is was a long day out !!

30 seconds on iPhone App called ReeHeld, phone attached to a monopod and leaning against the railings to the River Thames.

It was quite windy which helped with the clouds racing by.

The bridge is Eton Bridge in Windsor Berkshire.

Marsh Wiggle floating at pavement level on the high tide at Blakeney. Puddle photography in the extreme !

This is also the location for an excellent service called Poppy - a ferry for disabled people, it has a ramp that lowers at one end of the boat so wheelchairs can easily get aboard the boat.( See the sign on the large post)

Image info:- iPhone 13 Pro Max resting on the water's edge as the tide slowly rising inch by inch.

Taken at 6:02 am in the morning of 6th July 2024 using iPhone 13 Pro Max. The golden sunrise was sublime, shot taken from our balcony window, the place you could while away hours at the ever changing scenery and light, also weather as the sky was constantly changing.

As you can see still pockets of snow up at the higher levels, this mountain is 2,600 metres ( higher than the Niederhorn which is opposite).

My most explored pic from 2023.

Before it got busy a panorama view of the impressive Hampton Court Palace. It was the location for the Concours of Elegance 2024 event.

As stated from a previous post that was recently explored, it’s been almost four decades since I’ve last visited Toronto. And obviously much has changed since then. It felt good to once again visit the CN Tower, as well as spend some time on Spadina Street where the current Chinatown is currently located. Last time I went it was on York St (yep, I’ve been gone that long). But seeing Toronto from above brought back some serious memories for me, I was deathly afraid of this the first time I was at CN, and now I embrace it!

On a dry stone wall

At Bacup cemetery, the light and shade played nicely together with the shadows of the branches of nearby trees.
