Nighttime falls on Stacksteads
It rained quite heavy last night, I stood under the pergola to take this shot.
The light from our security lights / cams, and the dark night combo worked nicely n my favour.

After much rain in Bern there were a few opportunities for getting reflection images. This one is of the Parliament Building I believe taken from a site street opposite. It was a Sunday so the streets were fairly quiet.

My first walk out trying to shack off the shackles of Covid in the peace and quiet of the frozen Langley Park. All the film crews have departed and very few people about even dog walkers were tucked up in bed under the duvet.
So my two hours were rewarded with this tree in frost whitening the smaller branches.
Yes I did take one proper camera but this image was hand grab shot with my iPhone shot in RAW and it worked a treat.
Processed in Lightroom Classic and conversion to B & W in NIK Collection Silver EFEX Pro 2 of course.

We had a great meal and 70th birthday party for my brother in law at the hotel yesterday, and a lovely English breakfast this morning.
Me and Tracey were married here in 2004; and some of our wedding photos were taken in front of the stained glass window!

It didnât rain as Iâd expected it to.

Walking home from the Daresbury Laboratory open Day, along the Bridgwater Canal towpath I paused, to the north was a lovely field of corn (but not for long) with Fiddlers Ferry power station in the distance awaiting its demolition. To the south and across the canal we find another field once used for farming being carved up for houses. Soon there will be no green fields left in this area.

My wife and our niece, Emily, have been planting some outdoor flowers in planters.
Emily had some homework from nursery which involved planting, and then having photographs taken for her story book.
For this week it was planting, last week was being around pets⌠of course this was achieved easily with Patches.
At home.

The Pollard oak
Being Pollarded throughout its life probably helped it live for so long.
This tree was around for the gunpowder plot!
Reputed to be the oldest tree in Burnley.

En route to the Yorkshire Dales stopped off at Skipton which is a lovely location. Interesting shops, excellent coffee and tea shops and a canal network gluing it all together.
This was a panorama shot (iPhone 13 Pro Max) processed in LightRoom Classic then converted to B & W using NIK Collection Efex Pro 2, wet rocks setting with some adjustments.
Or Black beauty
He came running over to see us, but weâd no food for him, weâd just been feeding the sheep with our niece, Emily.
He seemed quite frisky, and his back legs were kicking out sometimes as he ran.
He belongs to some neighbours who also live on our lane, around 300 yards from us.
Theyâre 100% horse people. I donât know his name or anything.

What a difference 24 years make! The top pic was snapped in 1999, and the latter shot yesterday in 2023! Almost a quarter century since this iconic ball park (the former Tiger Stadium) has been razed. The stadium was then recently closed a few months after its final game on September 27, 1999. After a decade of being dormant, the stadium was razed in late 2008. The original diamond still remains and serves as a Little League Stadium for PAL (Police Athletic League) along with apartment and townhouses and various new businesses along with some of the old ones that still remain in Corktown (named after County Cork, Ireland). The top picture was shot with a Kodak KB 35mm (1999) and the bottom image was shot with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. For years now, Iâve been meaning to do a before and after collage, and needless to say âmission accomplishedâ!
