Following Oman’s is commitment to implement the international standard on automatic exchange of financial account information (AEOI) by 2020 the Secretariat of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes (Global Forum) delivered a technical workshop for financial institutions and government agencies in Muscat on 12 June 2019. The workshop led by Mr. Hakim Hamadi and Mr. Sivasankaran Pattanam Singaram, Tax Policy Advisors, was attended by more than 100 participants from government and the financial services sector.
Authoritarian leaders can’t implement their control plans without assistance from others. The same rule applies to Donald Trump and his MAGA movement. His most public-facing “helper” in his effort to bypass our Constitution is his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. She promotes Trump’s agenda and spreads his lies to the media every week. Leavitt is his most valuable tool.
What motivates someone to conspire to overthrow a 250-year-old democracy? For some, like Trump, who grew up in a household where personal ambitions were prioritized over the common good, everything centers around him, and he has no hesitation in stating so. I’m not qualified to psychoanalyze him. But it doesn’t take a psychiatrist to see that power and control are his main rewards. For others like Steve Bannon and the Heritage Foundation’s president and author of the controversial Project 2025, Kevin Roberts, it’s about remaking this country to combat threats they see from what they call the “radical left.” Then there’s Stephen Miller, who believes empathy is a weakness. He’s simply evil. Each person involved in this game uses others to achieve their aims, and all of them share many of the same traits.
So, what drives Karoline Leavitt to spread Trump’s lies? First, let’s examine the role of the press secretary across different administrations. Their job is to promote the president’s narrative, and that narrative often takes precedence over accuracy. It’s about putting a positive spin on publicly available facts and protecting the president from political damage. Most importantly, it’s about discrediting any criticism. In Trump’s world, criticism isn’t seen as a factual challenge; instead, it’s viewed as an attack from the President’s enemies. Loyalty is crucial.
By repeating Trump’s talking points verbatim and treating them as moral mandates, Leavitt shows her loyalty. She doesn’t think she’s lying. Her personal style favors populist nationalism, anti-establishment views, and a confrontational stance toward the mainstream media. In her first briefing as Press Secretary, she said, “We know for a fact there have been lies that have been pushed by many legacy media outlets in this country about this president, about his family, and we will not accept that. We will call you out when we feel that your reporting is wrong or there is misinformation about this White House. I will hold myself to the truth, and I expect everyone in this room to do the same.” As we’ve learned over the past decade, MAGA’s truth is a matter of personal opinion.
When Trump told Bloomberg Reporter Catherine Lucey to be “quiet, quiet, piggy” after she asked him about the Epstein files, Leavitt stood at her podium and declared matter-of-factly, "Look, the president is very frank & honest with everyone in this room," she said. "You've all seen it yourselves. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons the American people reelected this president, because of his frankness." Only someone who truly believes in Donald Trump’s mission could make a statement like that.
This is why Karoline Leavitt is Donald Trump’s most beloved cheerleader.

Lessons learned:
-Permanent black markers are great for obscuring markings (such as SS numbers).
-Colored markers, crayons, and pencils are bad for obscuring markings.
-Highlighter markings are easily obscured by most writing implements.
-To make a secret letter, write with a mechanical pencil or a black permanent marker, then cover the text with lots of black pen markings. The message can be decoded with an infrared still or video camera (such as a Sony Handycam with NightShot).

UNICEF Guinea country office in collaboration with UNICEF WCARO regional office and UNICEF New York headquarters, conducted a field mission in October 2022 to review the status of the effective implementation of primary health care and the Child Friendly Communities (CFC) initiative in Nzérékoré region, Guinea.
The administrative region of Nzérékoré, located in the southeast of Guinea, 954 km from the capital Conakry, includes 6 health districts and has an estimated total population of approximately 2 million inhabitants. The epidemiological profile of this region is characterized by outbreaks of epidemics, including cases of measles, Ebola virus disease, Lassa hemorrhagic fever, and Marburg. Over the past two decades, the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene in Guinea has been committed to making maternal, newborn, and child health a priority. However, insufficient progress has been made based on the results of the DHS from 1999 to 2018. There has been a slight decrease in neonatal mortality rates from 48 to 32 per 1,000 live births, infant and child mortality from 177 per 1,000 to 111 deaths per 1,000 live births, and infant mortality from 98 deaths to 67 per 1,000 in 2018. Only 27% of children under 5 years of age sleep under Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs). 55% of children under 5 with diarrhea received treatment with Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) and only 22% with ORS-Zinc. Only 83% of children with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) received treatment or counseling and 30% on the same day. Only 24% of children aged 12-23 months received all vaccinations with persistent measles outbreaks. Low rate of exclusive breastfeeding 33%. High prevalence of stunting at 30%, 9% are emaciated or acutely malnourished and 16% are underweight. Low level of sanitation, 52% of households have an improved sanitation facility. The Ministry of Health's main strategy for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is based on primary health care. In 2018, UNICEF in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene (MSHP) operationalized this new policy in 40 communes known as convergence communes with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MATD).

Every year, 12,000 women in Pakistan die of birth complications. The Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Services Component, implemented by MCHIP/Jhpiego, aims at preventing maternal, newborn, and child deaths by ensuring skilled birth attendance (SBA) through a total market approach, empowered community, timely referral of obstetric and neonatal complications to an emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC) facility, and improved access to child care.
Lack of electricity in remote areas is a major issue that often leads to obstetric complications and newborn deaths. Refrigerated storage is vital for the effectiveness of life saving drugs and vaccines. Ice boxes are used in remot areas of this purpose but it is an ineffective method especially when easy availability of ice is a problem. To overcome these issues, Lodhie Foundation in association with Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program/JHPIEGO, extended its Kavalcare program and provided a Solar Powered System to a remote clinic located at village Haji Usman Jhakro near Makli, District Thatta. System provides sufficient power to operate a small refrigerator, a fan and 3 lamps 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It was designed, manufactured and installed by Shaan Technologies private Limited Karachi. After installation of Solar System in August 2014, this small remote clinic is serving a community of 10,000 plus persons who lives in village Haji Usman and surrounding areas. On an average 10 patients visits this clinic each day. Clinic also provides up to 15 birth attendance and new born care in a month.

Queen's College Oxford
The Queen's College (on the right of the photograph) was founded in 1341 by Robert de Eglesfield in honour of Queen Philippa of Hainaut (wife of King Edward III of England). The college is distinguished by its predominantly neoclassical architecture, which includes buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor.
In 2015, the college had an endowment of £265 million, making it the fifth wealthiest college (after St. John's, Christ Church, All Souls and Merton).
In April 2012, as part of the celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, a series of commemorative stamps were released featuring A-Z pictures of famous British landmarks. The Queen's College's front quad was used on the Q stamp, alongside other landmarks such as the Angel of the North on A and the Old Bailey on O.
The most famous feast of the College is the Boar's Head Gaudy, which originally was the Christmas Dinner for members of the College who were unable to return home over the Christmas break between terms, but is now a feast for old members of the College on the Saturday before Christmas.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee
Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee OM KBE FRS RDI FRSA DFBCS FREng was born on the 8th. June 1955. Also known as TimBL, he is an English computer scientist, best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web, the HTML markup language, the URL system, and HTTP.
He is a professorial research fellow at the University of Oxford, and a professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Berners-Lee proposed an information management system on the 12th. March 1989, and implemented the first successful communication between a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) client and server via the Internet in mid-November.
He devised and implemented the first Web browser and Web server, and helped foster the Web's subsequent explosive development. He is the founder and director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which oversees the continued development of the Web.
Tim co-founded (with Rosemary Leith) the World Wide Web Foundation. In April 2009, he was elected as Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences.
Berners-Lee is a senior researcher and holder of the 3Com founder's chair at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). He is a director of the Web Science Research Initiative (WSRI), and a member of the advisory board of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence.
In 2011, he was named as a member of the board of trustees of the Ford Foundation. He is a founder and president of the Open Data Institute, and is currently an advisor at social network MeWe.
In 2004, Berners-Lee was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his pioneering work. He received the 2016 Turing Award:
"... for inventing the World Wide Web, the first
web browser, and the fundamental protocols
and algorithms allowing the Web to scale".
He was named in Time magazine's list of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th. century, and has received many other accolades for his invention.

Tim Berners-Lee was born in London, the son of mathematicians and computer scientists Mary Lee Woods (1924–2017) and Conway Berners-Lee (1921–2019). His parents were both from Birmingham, and worked on the Ferranti Mark 1, the first commercially-built computer.
He has three younger siblings; his brother, Mike, is a professor of ecology and climate change management.
Berners-Lee attended Sheen Mount Primary School, then attended Emanuel School (a direct grant grammar school at the time) from 1969 to 1973. A keen trainspotter as a child, he learnt about electronics from tinkering with a model railway.
From 1973 to 1976, he studied at The Queen's College, Oxford, where he received a first-class BA in physics. While there, he made a computer out of an old television set he had purchased from a repair shop.

After graduation, Berners-Lee worked as an engineer at the telecommunications company Plessey in Poole, Dorset.
In 1978, he joined D. G. Nash in Ferndown, Dorset, where he helped create typesetting software for printers.
Berners-Lee worked as an independent contractor at CERN from June to December 1980. While in Geneva, he proposed a project based on the concept of hypertext, to facilitate sharing and updating information among researchers.
To demonstrate it, he built a prototype system named ENQUIRE.
After leaving CERN in late 1980, Tim went to work at John Poole's Image Computer Systems Ltd. in Bournemouth, Dorset, where he ran the company's technical side for three years.
The project he worked on was a "real-time remote procedure call" which gave him experience in computer networking. In 1984, he returned to CERN as a fellow.
In 1989, CERN was the largest Internet node in Europe, and Berners-Lee saw an opportunity to join hypertext with the Internet:
"I just had to take the hypertext idea and
connect it to the TCP and DNS ideas and—
ta-da!—the World Wide Web."
Tim also recalled:
"Creating the web was really an act of desperation,
because the situation without it was very difficult
when I was working at CERN later.
Most of the technology involved in the web, like the
hypertext, like the Internet, multifont text objects,
had all been designed already.
I just had to put them together. It was a step of
generalising, going to a higher level of abstraction,
thinking about all the documentation systems out
there as being possibly part of a larger imaginary
documentation system."
Berners-Lee wrote his proposal in March 1989 and, in 1990, redistributed it. It was accepted by his manager, Mike Sendall, who called his proposals:
"Vague, but exciting."
Robert Cailliau had independently proposed a project to develop a hypertext system at CERN, and joined Berners-Lee as a partner in his efforts to get the web off the ground. They used similar ideas to those underlying the ENQUIRE system to create the World Wide Web, for which Berners-Lee designed and built the first web browser.
Tim's software also functioned as an editor (called WorldWideWeb, running on the NeXTSTEP operating system), and the first Web server, CERN HTTPd (short for Hypertext Transfer Protocol daemon).
Berners-Lee published the first web site, which described the project itself, on the 20th. December 1990; it was available to the Internet from the CERN network.
The site provided an explanation of what the World Wide Web was, and how people could use a browser and set up a web server, as well as how to get started with your own website.
On the 6th. August 1991, Berners-Lee first posted, on Usenet, a public invitation for collaboration with the WorldWideWeb project.
In a list of 80 cultural moments that shaped the world, chosen by a panel of 25 eminent scientists, academics, writers and world leaders, the invention of the World Wide Web was ranked number one, with the entry stating:
"The fastest growing communications medium
of all time, the Internet has changed the shape
of modern life forever. We can connect with
each other instantly, all over the world."
In 1994, Berners-Lee founded the W3C at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It comprised various companies that were willing to create standards and recommendations to improve the quality of the Web.
Berners-Lee made his idea available freely, with no patent and no royalties due. The World Wide Web Consortium decided that its standards should be based on royalty-free technology, so that they easily could be adopted by anyone.
In 2001, Berners-Lee became a patron of the East Dorset Heritage Trust, having previously lived in Colehill in Wimborne, East Dorset. In December 2004, he accepted a chair in computer science at the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton, Hampshire, to work on the Semantic Web.
In a Times article in October 2009, Berners-Lee admitted that the initial pair of slashes ("//") in a web address were "unnecessary". He told the newspaper that he easily could have designed web addresses without the slashes. In his lighthearted apology he said:
"There you go, it seemed like
a good idea at the time."

In June 2009, then-British prime minister Gordon Brown announced that Berners-Lee would work with the UK government in order to help make data more open and accessible on the Web, building on the work of the Power of Information Task Force.
Berners-Lee and Professor Nigel Shadbolt are the two key figures behind data.gov.uk, a UK government project to open up almost all data acquired for official purposes for free re-use.
Commenting on the opening up of Ordnance Survey data in April 2010, Berners-Lee said:
"The changes signal a wider cultural change
in government, based on an assumption that
information should be in the public domain
unless there is a good reason not to — not
the other way around."
He went on to say:
"Greater openness, accountability and
transparency in Government will give
people greater choice and make it
easier for individuals to get more
directly involved in issues that matter
to them."
In November 2009, Berners-Lee launched the World Wide Web Foundation (WWWF) in order to campaign:
"To advance the Web to empower humanity
by launching transformative programs that
build local capacity to leverage the Web as
a medium for positive change".
Berners-Lee is one of the pioneer voices in favour of net neutrality, and has expressed the view that:
"ISPs should supply connectivity with no strings
attached, and should neither control nor monitor
the browsing activities of customers without their
expressed consent."
Tim advocates the idea that net neutrality is a kind of human network right:
"Threats to the Internet, such as companies
or governments that interfere with or snoop
on Internet traffic, compromise basic human
network rights."
As of May 2012, Tim is president of the Open Data Institute, which he co-founded with Nigel Shadbolt in 2012.
The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) was launched in October 2013, and Berners-Lee is leading the coalition of public and private organisations that includes Google, Facebook, Intel and Microsoft.
The A4AI seeks to make Internet access more affordable, so that access is broadened in the developing world, where only 31% of people are online. Berners-Lee is working with those aiming to decrease Internet access prices so that they fall below the UN Broadband Commission's worldwide target of 5% of monthly income.
Berners-Lee holds the founders chair in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he heads the Decentralized Information Group and is leading Solid, a joint project with the Qatar Computing Research Institute that aims to radically change the way Web applications work today, resulting in true data ownership as well as improved privacy.
In October 2016, he joined the Department of Computer Science at Oxford University as a professorial research fellow, and as a fellow of Christ Church, one of the Oxford colleges.
From the mid-2010's Berners-Lee initially remained neutral on the emerging Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) proposal with its controversial digital rights management (DRM) implications.
In March 2017 he felt he had to take a position which was to support the EME proposal. He reasoned EME's virtues whilst noting DRM was inevitable. As W3C director, he went on to approve the finalised specification in July 2017.
Tim's stance was opposed by some, including Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the anti-DRM campaign, Defective by Design, and the Free Software Foundation. Varied concerns raised included being not supportive of the Internet's open philosophy against commercial interests, and risks of users being forced to use a particular web browser to view specific DRM content.
The EFF raised a formal appeal which did not succeed, and the EME specification became a formal W3C recommendation in September 2017.
On the 30th. September 2018, Berners-Lee announced his new open-source startup Inrupt to fuel a commercial ecosystem around the Solid project, which aims to give users more control over their personal data and lets them choose where the data goes, who's allowed to see certain elements and which apps are allowed to see that data.
In November 2019 at the Internet Governance Forum in Berlin Berners-Lee and the WWWF launched Contract for the Web, a campaign initiative to persuade governments, companies and citizens to commit to nine principles to stop "misuse", with the warning that:
"Ff we don't act now – and act together –
to prevent the web being misused by
those who want to exploit, divide and
undermine, we are at risk of squandering
its potential for good."

Tim Berners-Lee's entry in Time magazine's list of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th century (March 1999) reads as follows:
"He wove the World Wide Web and created a mass
medium for the 21st century. The World Wide Web
is Berners-Lee's alone. He designed it. He loosed it
on the world. And he more than anyone else has
fought to keep it open, nonproprietary and free."
Berners-Lee has received many awards and honours. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2004 New Year Honours:
"For services to the global development
of the Internet."
On the 13th. June 2007, he was appointed to the Order of Merit (OM), an order restricted to 24 living members, plus any honorary members. Bestowing membership of the Order of Merit is within the personal purview of the Sovereign, and does not require recommendation by ministers or the Prime Minister.
Tim was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2001. He was also elected as a member of the American Philosophical Society in 2004 and the National Academy of Engineering in 2007.
He has been conferred honorary degrees from a number of universities around the world, including Manchester (his parents worked on the Manchester Mark 1 in the 1940's), Harvard and Yale.
In 2012, Berners-Lee was among the British cultural icons selected by artist Sir Peter Blake to appear in a new version of his most famous artwork – the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover – to celebrate the British cultural figures of his life that he most admires to mark his 80th. birthday.
In 2013, he was awarded the inaugural Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. On the 4th. April 2017, Tim received the 2016 Association for Computing Machinery's Turing Award for his invention of the World Wide Web, the first web browser, and their fundamental protocols and algorithms.

Berners-Lee married Nancy Carlson, an American computer programmer, in 1990. She was also working in Switzerland at the World Health Organization. They had two children and divorced in 2011.
In 2014, he married Rosemary Leith at the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace in London. Leith is a Canadian Internet and banking entrepreneur, and a founding director of Berners-Lee's World Wide Web Foundation. The couple also collaborate on venture capital to support artificial intelligence companies.
Berners-Lee was raised as an Anglican, but he turned away from religion in his youth. After he became a parent, he became a Unitarian Universalist (UU). When asked whether he believes in God, he stated:
"Not in the sense of most people, I'm
atheist and Unitarian Universalist."
The web's source code was auctioned by Sotheby's in London in 2021, as a non-fungible token (NFT) by TimBL. Selling for US$5,434,500, it was reported the proceeds would be used to fund initiatives by TimBL and Leith.

Q1: What kind of a place is Lo-Sheng Sanatorium?
In 1927, the General Governor of Taiwan started to build Losheng Sanatorium for the quarantine and treatment of leprosy patients. With the force of sanitary police and the medical officers, the general investigation, quarantine, and imprisonment of the leprosy patients were conducted thoroughly in the period from1934 till the end of colonial governance of Japan. As a result, Losheng Sanatorium became the institution of compulsory quarantine as well as life-long imprisonment for the leprosy patients. Now, we consider Losheng Sanatorium as the epitome of the hundred-year sanitary history in Taiwan. It is the only historical mark that can testify the epidemic prevention history of Taiwan, and it is also the best place for us to do the introspection of the human rights of the patients.
Q2: What is the Hansen's disease?
Leprosy, also called the Hansen's disease，is a chronic bacterial disease infecting the skin and nerves in the hands and feet and, in some cases, the respiratory system. In 1873, a Norwegian doctor, Hansen, discovered the pathogenesis of this disease, hence the name Hansen's disease. Leprosy virus is hard to cultivate even in the lab, so the contagiousness is extremely weak. Almost everyone (90% of the human beings) has the natural immunity against leprosy virus. Human is the main infection source of the Hansen's disease, and the upper respiratory tract is the major route of infection. The latent period is spans from three to five years, but could be as long as 40 years. The Hansen's disease is easier to spread in the environment with poor public sanitation facilities. Currently, the good sanitary condition in Taiwan ensures that the Hansen's disease almost has no contagiousness, and there is also effective cure for the disease.
Q3 Why was there a compulsory quarantine policy in the past?
At the beginning of the 20th century, because of the improvement in sanitary condition, the Hansen's disease was almost extinct in Europe and America. However, the Japanese government desired to imitate the militarism of German government, so when they faced the large amount of the domestic leprosy patients, they regarded those patients as "the national humiliation", and began to draw up "the prevention law of Leprosy "in 1907. They planned to isolate the leprosy patients from the society, trying to create the illusion in which the Hansen's disease was extinct.

In order to justify its compulsory quarantine policy, the Japanese government exaggerated the contagiousness of the Hansen's disease, and propagandized it to the society with force. They educated people that leprosy was extremely horrible, and used the police force and the spy system to "arrest" the patients and put them in hospitalization. This discriminating experience of being arrested in front of their families, friends, neighbors as well as the ingrained infamy of this policy prevented the Hansen's patients from going back to the society even after the compulsory quarantine policy was relieved. It was a tragedy for those patients to have homes they dared not return to.
Q5 Why is Taiwanese government tearing down the Losheng Sanatorium？
In 1994, Taipei City's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System has planned to build a depot on the site where now the Sanatorium is. Chen Jing-Chuan, (陳京川) the ex-director of Losheng was opposed to this decision, and did three surveys among the patients to see what they thought and needed, shortly before he got demoted and reprimanded. Ever since then, the patients had no access to the MRT construction plans and its related discussions.
Q6 Why is it a mistake to build the depot on the Losheng site？
The MRT depot was originally planned to be built on the mountains behind Fu-Jen Catholic University(輔仁大學), but the plan was changed by local politicians. This is wrong for the following reasons:
1. Waste of money: 3/5 of the depot site needs to be built on flatland; therefore $90 million (USD) will be spent on flatting and improving the soil.
2. Disaster for the environment: What comes after flatting the mountains is a ten-story-tall retaining wall, which destroys the natural environment.
3. Safety concern: the future depot will be situated upon earth faults.
4. Ravaged historical site: the Losheng Sanatorium is an important cultural asset for people in East Asia. The depot construction will turn all this treasure into dust.
5. Ordeal for patients: the patients are forced to leave the place they spent their lives, suffering mentally and physically from the displacement.
6. Autocratic decision-making: the MRT Department never inquired the needs of Losheng patients--the 'residents' of the site—which is a violation of fundamental human rights.
Q7 Why should the Losheng Sanatorium be a World Heritage?
1. The Losheng Sanatorium has witnessed the inhumane treatment (such as discrimination and compulsory quarantine) the leprosy patients had undergone through 70 years of governmental oppression. It is a live showcase of Taiwan's colonial past, history of public health and suppressed human rights.
2. The Losheng Sanatorium is one among the few leprosy sanatoriums left. Its architecture has a mixture of Japanese and Gothic style, along with houses and Buddhist shrines built by the patients. The Sanatorium retains its painfully organised structure as an embodiment of its colonial past.
3. The Losheng Sanatorium has met many requirements for World Heritage. One UNESCO committee member who visited Losheng has commented that the Sanatorium is qualified at a World Heritage site. He mentioned one World Heritage site, the Robben Island, where Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, to exemplify the value of human rights.
4. The international trend of cultural assets conservation emphasizes an 'organic' perspective of preserving, which means not only the architecture is preserved, but also its relationship established by people who lived in it. The Losheng Sanatorium is embedded with history and lifelong memory of the patients, therefore partial preservation would tarnish the integrity of its value. Moreover, the Losheng Sanatorium is a reminder of inhumane quarantine and mistaken political measures for the world to see. Forced displacement is nothing less than another persecution for human rights.
Q8 How does the Taiwanese government plan to settle the patients?
In 2002, the new housing projects was initiated, but instead of 'houses' which were earlier promised to the patients, the new director gave them two tall buildings with modern hospital facilities. It became clear that the new administration team intended to run a hospital business and make money. The patients had no choice but to be removed to another place designed for quarantine.
The skyscraper-ish hospital buildings were designed mainly for housing short-term patients; therefore it has inadequate space for residents to move around freely. Moreover, the hospital management team forbids the patients from bringing with them personal belongings, from cooking, and from coming over to the front building—a discriminative policy.
Q9 How are leprosy patients treated in other countries?
In 2001, the Japanese government formally apologised to the maltreated leprosy patients, and devised reimbursement laws to give them the justice and honor they long missed. Take the example of National Sanatorium Nagashima Aiseien (日本長島愛生園): it retains its old architecture and natural environment for educational purposes; the patients live in well-organised houses; intercom facilities were implemented in the sanatorium for patients who have lost their sight. Every patient has nearly two nurses to take good care of them.
Q10 How come we did not speak out in the initial stages of planning? Why stand out now?
In fact, the depot plan has received severe critiques through the decade, from scholars and social groups alike. In 1994, the Taiwanese Bureau of Health has decided the project would brutally disrupt the patients' lives, or even pose life threatens. In the same year, the Losheng residents started their perpetual war against the violence.
Long before the depot construction was initiated, Loshen's ex-director and history professionals have demanded a large-scale inspection of Losheng's position as a historical site. The scholars appealed to the MRT Department that they should spare the Losheng Sanatorium, while they unanimously agreed the entire site should be preserved. However, the officials were rough enough to terminate the process of inspection, and decided the Sanatorium should be torn down entirely.
It was not until 2004, when Prof. John K.C. Liu (劉可強教授) came up with a symbiosis plan, and when the Concil of Cultural Affairs (文建會) has deemed the Sanatorium a historical spot, that the MRT Department was pressured to rethink the possibilities of preservation.
We sincerely appeal to the governmental officials that they should take the problems seriously. People have eyes to see and ears to listen; we will not be fooled or threatened for life.
Q11. Will MRT Shin-Jhong line not able to function if Losheng sanatorium is not torn down?
A11: Liu, Ko-Chiang, a professor in the Graduate Institute of Building and Planning in National Taiwan University (NTU), has long proposed a "Concurrent Construction Program of Losheng Sanatorium and MRT" in December, 2004. This plan not only proposes to preserve the whole area in Losheng, but let the MRT function well. It achieves the four-win situation for the historical site, the MRT, the patients in Losheng, and the HuiLong community. Also, this plan has been evaluated by the Taipei MRT bureau as "technically applicable". However, after the resignation of the whole Cabinet, no more committees were to be hold, the government commissioner in charge of this plan denied it with an official document without any negotiation, and the concurrent construction program has been put aside ever since.
In 2006, the 90% reserve plan proposed by the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA, 文建會) was evaluate as applicable by Mott MacDonald Group. (欣陸工程顧問公司) However, the Executive Yuan turn down this proposal from CCA without any explanation in less than one month.
If we reserve Losheng sanatorium, it will not necessarily be the obstacle which hinders the MRT service. What we are upset about is the governmental monopoly of technical resources and legal rights behind the curtain, and they blame the Losheng patients for delaying the MRT. If the government keeps ignoring its flawed policy, sweeping things under the rug, and putting off its own political duty, the government will wipe out the entire historical Losheng sanatorium. Such unwise arrogance from our government only damages the rights of patients in Losheng and every citizen.
Q12. According to the Department of Rapid Transit System, Taipei (DORTS, Taipei, 台北捷運局), curved rail in the 90% plan will cause derailment, is it true?
A12: The altered curvature in 90% plan has no connection with the commuters. What the 90% plan affects is the allocation of the workshop; more specifically, the plan only changes the curvature of rails which vacant carriages may go in and out. Unless the DORTS intends to make carriages enter the workshop with a high speed, or they want some passengers to participate parties held in the workshop occasionally; otherwise security is not the issue in this plan. In fact, this is exactly why the government does not want to discuss the 90% plan openly. Besides, when Frank Chang-ting Hsieh (謝長廷) was the minister of Executive Yuan, the 90% was evaluated as an applicable plan.
Q13. According to the media and Department of Rapid Transit System, Taipei (DORTS, Taipei, 台北捷運局), the 90% preservation plan will delay the construction of MRT for two to three years and result in a two to three hundred billion NTD (approx. 760 million USD) increase in budget, is that true?
A13. In the press release issued by the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA, 文建會) in Jan. 23, 2007, it was mentioned: "according to recent news, some local representatives and organizations in Taipei City and Taipei County claimed that the 90% Losheng preservation plan proposed by CCA will severely delay the MRT construction. Hereby CCA reiterates that the 90% preservation plan, evaluated by Hsin-Lu cooperation, will lengthen the construction period for about four months, and appends a three billion budget to it. It is not true to say the MRT construction will be delayed for two to three years."
Q14. The Losheng sanatorium has its own value to be preserved, and the human rights of the patients are also important; but what about the rights of other citizens?
A14. The Department of Rapid Transit System, Taipei (DORTS, Taipei, 台北捷運局) constantly uses phrases such as "Significant National Construction", "Asserting the Public Interests", and "One Million People's Rights of Using MRT", all of which portray the Losheng sanatorium as a troublemaker consisting of a tiny group of people, who aim at obstructing the construction of MRT. Such tactics downplay the issue of Losheng, simplifying the problem here as "the majority matters." However, we are surprised that our ruling party, who has been proud of its concern about human rights, should say such things.
If we acknowledge that the Losheng sanatorium is an important asset that not only belongs to people in Taiwan, but also to all other countries where quarantine on Hanson disease was ever imposed. The Losheng sanatorium, therefore, becomes heirloom for the entire humanity. If the Taiwanese government is willing to change its attitude and positively promote human rights, then Losheng sanatorium can not only provide another greenbelt for the citizens, but also help transform the HuiLong community into an emblem of human rights.
History repeats itself. If today we turn a deaf ear to the plights of Losheng patients, tomorrow we might ourselves experience governmental violence. In democratic countries, such as Japan, the society would usually wait till all-round plans are devised, so that the disadvantaged minority could be attended of their needs. Likewise, we urge the government in Taiwan to be responsible enough to handle the Losheng dispute with due respect to culture, history, and human rights; not only those of the patients, but also of us people.

Losheng Sanatorium(Traditional Chinese: 樂生療養院; pinyin: lèshēng liáoyǎngyuàn) is a hospital for lepers, which is located in Sinjhuang, Taipei County. During 1930s, this hospital was the only public sanatorium for leprosy patients in Taiwan and also the first leprosy hospital in Taiwan.
Losheng, named Rakusei Sanatorium for Lepers of Governor-General of Taiwan (臺灣總督府癩病療養樂生院, Taiwan Sōtokufu Raibyō Rakuseiin?) originally, was built in 1929 during Japanese colonial period and served as an isolation hospital for leprosy patients at that time. The Japanese government forced leprosy patients to live in this hospital. The first 5 buildings can offer more than 100 patients.
In 2001, due to the construction of Taipei Rapid Transit System, the authorities planed of Xinzhuang (Sijhuang) Line to transform Losheng to a community hospital, thus put an end to its dedicated hospitalization and care for leprosy patients. Many students, urban planners and NGO tried to protect this sanatorium from that time.

Updates, Saturday Dec 1st, Pro-Morsi protesters gathered in Nahdit Misr square in front of Cairo Uni to support the constitutional declaration issued by President Mohamed Morsi, and to demand for the implementation of Islamic Sharia law. Protesters came in MB and Salafi buses from different cities in Egypt. On the other hand, Tahrir sit-in continues continues with the demand of toppling the same constitutional declaration.
Friday Nov 30th, floods of protesters marched today in different cities all over Egypt and in Cairo towards Tahrir square where the sit-in continues. For the second week protesters demand the toppling of the constitutional declaration and dissolving the constitutional assembly. Chants reverberated in the streets of Egypt against President Mohamed Morsi, Mohamed Badee and the Muslim Brotherhood. Revolutionaries were joined by the so-called "Sofa Party" who have recently started protesting against the MB's dictatorship. Along with Egyptians from all walks of life, marched popular faces from both political and artistic backgrounds. By sunset Tahrir Square was filled with demonstrators, they were joined by Mohamed El Baradei and Hamdeen Sabahy who gave speeches in the square.
Thursday Nov 29th, hundreds of protesters continue their sit-in in Cairo's Tahrir square until toppling the new constitutional declaration issued by President Mohamed Morsy. On the other hand, US Embassy was shut due to the ongoing clashes in Simon Bolivar st., where CSF built two concrete blocks to stop clashes.

1) Previously the machines had AC Clutch and AC Induction motor i.e. 400 Watt to 500 watt consumption per hour. Now, I have used DC motor 50 watt to 100 watt consumption per hours
.
2) The size of DC motor now is which is much smaller than the AC motor used previously. The size of the table has also been reduced accordingly.
3) The battery of 70 Ampere 12 volt can be charged with single solar panel of 75 Watt and this can work for 10 hours where there is no electricity/ rural areas.
4) In cities, AC to DC converter would be used to run the motor.
5) The DC motor can work on small invertors also.
Overall, the idea of operating industrial sewing machines on DC motors is very beneficial and this project would be helping many lives in future
I am a 51 years old business man working in the field of Industrial Sewing Machines since 1977, i.e. when my age was just 14 years. After passing my 8th class, I started operating Button Hole and Button Stitch machines. That time the cost of making one button hole and putting one button was 2 paisa each. The more button holes and buttons were stitched, the more money I would make. This was my only source of earning bread and butter, but at times I would end up earning nothing in the day because of electricity failures and operational dysfunctions in the machines for which there were hardly any repairers around at that time as the machines were not made in India . After making lot of efforts, I was able to understand and fix some of the common problems myself that occurred in the machines. This helped me to great extend as I was no longer dependent on getting the machines repaired from outside or buying new machines. But the problem of electricity failures persisted. However, there was no solution to this that time. I moved on in life and my business, gradually got into sale and servicing of all kinds of Industrial Sewing machines and progressed.
But I wished if I could still do something that could help people like me at large who are till date struggling great deal and ending up compromising on their bread and butter because these high-load industrial machines like Button Hole, Button Stitcher, Overlock, Bartake, Feedoarm, Double-needle, Zig-zag, Belt machine, Elastic inserting machine, Snap button machine etc. do not work without electricity. Each machine consumes about 400 Watt of electricity per hour. Using these industrial sewing machines on present day generators, invertors and solar plants is possible, but that requires huge investment, set-up and space. Consequently, the profit becomes small. So this was not a welcoming and exciting idea.
I was constantly thinking of some other way by which these high-load industrial sewing machines could perform on low-load/ less energy and should be portable so that it could be used anywhere, no matter that place is connected with regular power source or not.
The whole idea was to make these industrial sewing machines available, accessible and operational in the most under developed areas and also save energy. For discussions, understanding and research on this proposal, I visited companies in abroad during 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007 but they suggested that the power consumption can be reduced to 50% but this was not enough, as this meant that each machine would still consume 200 watt per hour. I aimed to reduce the power consumption by 80% so I continued making efforts. After lots of research and experiments, I have finally been able to achieve success. Now all such high-load industrial sewing machines could be operated only at the consumption of 75 Watt per hour.

Every year, 12,000 women in Pakistan die of birth complications. The Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Services Component, implemented by MCHIP/Jhpiego, aims at preventing maternal, newborn, and child deaths by ensuring skilled birth attendance (SBA) through a total market approach, empowered community, timely referral of obstetric and neonatal complications to an emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC) facility, and improved access to child care.
Lack of electricity in remote areas is a major issue that often leads to obstetric complications and newborn deaths. Refrigerated storage is vital for the effectiveness of life saving drugs and vaccines. Ice boxes are used in remot areas of this purpose but it is an ineffective method especially when easy availability of ice is a problem. To overcome these issues, Lodhie Foundation in association with Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program/JHPIEGO, extended its Kavalcare program and provided a Solar Powered System to a remote clinic located at village Haji Usman Jhakro near Makli, District Thatta. System provides sufficient power to operate a small refrigerator, a fan and 3 lamps 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It was designed, manufactured and installed by Shaan Technologies private Limited Karachi. After installation of Solar System in August 2014, this small remote clinic is serving a community of 10,000 plus persons who lives in village Haji Usman and surrounding areas. On an average 10 patients visits this clinic each day. Clinic also provides up to 15 birth attendance and new born care in a month.

Efectivamente, cumple esa función con el fin de que la cadena logística sea más rápida y segura.
El citado centro de control, con ayuda de un sistema de cámaras de videovigilancia, ubicadas en las vías de acceso terrestre al puerto del Callao, efectúa un monitoreo diario del flujo de vehículos que se dirigen a las instalaciones portuarias de APM Terminals y DP World para dejar o retirar carga.
Julio Cruz, encargado del citado centro de control, explicó que, gracias al trabajo que realizan, la delincuencia ha disminuido en un 20% en la zona.
“Teniendo en cuenta que a diario ingresan como mínimo tres mil camiones al puerto del Callao, se requería con carácter de urgencia que exista un control y monitoreo de la zona en las vías y en el mar. Antes, era un caos, había mucho desorden vehicular, robos y extorsiones a los camineros. Hoy, el panorama es diferente y ello ayuda a dinamizar la economía”, sostuvo.
Se monitorea la prestación de los servicios portuarios a nivel terrestre y marítimo, centralizando, procesando y analizando cualquier información que pueda afectar al Sistema Portuario Nacional en el marco del Código Internacional para la Protección de los Buques y de Instalaciones Portuarias.
Para realizar un trabajo articulado, este centro se encuentra instalado en el Comité de Inteligencia Portuaria, conformado por la Dirección Nacional Antidrogas (Dirandro), la Dirección de Investigación Criminal (Dirincri), la Dirección Contra el Terrorismo (Dircote) y la Dirección de Policía Fiscal (Dirpolfis), así como el Programa Global de Control de Contenedores, quienes se encargan del perfilamiento de contenedores de exportación para identificar casos de narcotráfico y contrabando.

Cabe anotar que, en junio pasado, con el fin de brindar seguridad a las instalaciones portuarias, a las vías y a las unidades de transporte de carga, el MTC y la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP) firmaron un convenio para la prestación del servicio policial en los alrededores de los terminales chalacos.
Los transportistas de carga que acceden al puerto del Callao requerían contar con una mayor protección policial para reducir los actos delictivos en la zona y mantener la fluidez del ingreso y salida en el puerto a fin de entregar sus cargas a tiempo. Para ellos se dispuso el resguardo de 42 efectivos policiales, quienes se distribuyen en tres turnos las 24 horas del día y se ubican en puntos estratégicos.

Agahi to implement the Nokia-UNESCO Mobile Learning initiative to deliver quality education to teachers
Nokia Pakistan and UNESCO collaborate to launch Mobile Learning for Teacher’s in Pakistan using Nokia Education Delivery App to facilitate teacher training via mobile phones
Nokia Pakistan and UNESCO Islamabad launched the project “Mobile Learning Project for Teacher’s Professional Development” today as formal collaboration in the presence of senior government officials, Nokia representatives and UNESCO representatives. As part of this program, UNESCO and Nokia are joining hands, where Nokia is providing its mobile phones and its application “Nokia Education Delivery (NED) for UNESCO’s project on ‘use of ICT for professional development of public school teachers’ in remote areas.
Since 2011 NED has turned into an open source solution to improve livelihoods, and in order to support such mobile learning innovations to be filled with life in Pakistan, The project will be implemented by AGAHI, a UNESCO partner and a non-profit foundation working in the area of communication and media policy design.
Nokia developed NED to allow using a mobile phone to access and download videos and other educational materials from a constantly updated education library. Operating in hundreds of schools and having reached millions of students in the Philippines, Tanzania, Chile and Colombia, Nokia Education Delivery has been shown to improve study results and increase retention among students.
This collaboration is part of the agreement signed last year between UNESCO and Nokia at international level to promote the use of mobile technologies to further the objectives of “Education for All”. As part of this agreement Nokia is developing applications and new Mobile technologies offering access to information and enrich learning environments at global level.
In Pakistan, through the project “Mobile Learning for Teachers” Nokia’s Education Delivery application will help UNESCO to enable the delivery of high- quality educational materials to teachers who lack training and resources though mobile phones giving an opportunity to teachers to train themselves on the same level as professionally competent teachers.
Speaking about the project, UNESCO Director, Kozue Kai Nagata said, “In 21st century Public- private partnerships are enjoying growing attention and support as a new and sustainable modality for development. We are confident to collaborate with Nokia to provide us with the best platform to train public school teachers. Nokia Education Delivery is fit to match our need of delivering quality training to a large number of public school teachers across Pakistan through the project named “Mobile Learning for Teachers”
Amir Jahangir, President AGAHI and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, shared his views on the launch that “Pakistan is a knowledge starved country, where universal education has its own challenges. To meet the target of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) on education, Pakistan needs to address its education challenges through innovation and technology which can reach to a larger population with cost effective solutions”.
Speaking about the launch of NED program, Ulrike Vott Nokia Sustainability Manager for Middle East said, “Nokia Education Delivery facilitates education in a fun and interactive way. In addition to the NED software, Nokia offers program implementation support for the benefit of Pakistan’s education landscape.” The Nokia Education Delivery software system has two modules. The first module is installed on a Nokia mobile phone and contains a browse able catalog of educational videos. The second module is installed on the computer of the education administrator. It manages the organization’s mobile video library, so that videos can be added, deleted and updated. It also provides information on the usage of different videos.”
This unique pilot project for Pakistan has been initiated by UNESCO and AGAHI aims at using Mobile phones as medium for training teachers, where the teachers in remote areas will be equipped with devices, SIMs, a software solution and high quality educational content. The course for training and capacity building will be developed into video files and will be transmitted step by step according to curriculum on the phones provided to teachers. Over the course of the training period, teachers will be tested via SMS on regular basis and as an incentive, those who will score highest in tests will receive free mobile top ups. At the end of the course, test scores of all teachers will be aggregated and the passing teachers will be awarded certificate in the final workshop.

This is another one of those artifacts where I wanted to grab anyone around me and shake them while pointing frantically at this. I cannot believe this has come down to us from nearly 4,000 years ago. Artifacts like this make me feel so close to the humanity of the people from the era. Again, I feel as if the artist this belonged to had only gone away for a break and would be back at any moment to pick back up his work.

Apparently in a new younger generation there are those who harbor resentment towards our nations history, for English colonialism, and even for the Monarchy ? And therefore after a highly successful lengthy run of 87 consecutive years in a row, the highly anticipated, very popular, family oriented, inclusive and diverse, multi village Queen Annapolisa and Apple Blossom Princess Pageant along with the prestigious Royal Coronation crowning ceremonies held in Wolfville have all been terminated forever by this current board of Directors ?

Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival 2023 - ABF Board of Directors have announced they are making drastic new changes in format and making more devastating cut-backs to the annual People's Festival ? Recent concerns over ceremony, symbolism, monarchy and past colonialism, along with the ongoing inclusion and diversity issue relative to the Queen Annapolisa contest, as well as the current Trudeau Liberal political environment in Canada, may have all influenced a new generation of ABF Officials to radically update the historic Queen Annapolisa and Apple Blossom Princess pageants in order to bring the Valley up to modern standards that they believe more relevant to current times ? And so it seems that Directors must have held an extremely private 'think tank' and without consideration, consultation, or bothering to invite or gain approval from long time participating Valley communities, Officials must have decided that rather than trouble themselves any further with the issue, why not just take the easy way out and simply get rid of this history ? And so it seems that a decision must have been made, in a very private way, to enforce the life ending final solution ? And so, as of 2023 the iconic 87 year old Apple Blossom Princess contest and pageant is to be shut down and terminated forever ? This act has been carried out without public input, inclusion, involvement, attendance or approval, and now one of the longest running, popular, highly anticipated, inclusive and diverse family events to ever benefit the Valley is over ?
This cold act of finality will end the 88 year reign of her royal Heinous Queen Annapolisa and it will terminate all further participation of the 7 to 10 Apple Blossom Princess contestants and child attendants representing 7 to 10 local Valley communities ? It also ends appearances by the beautiful hand crafted award winning Princess floats that are the focal highlight of Grand Street Parade and will signal the end of the ultra glamorous Queen and Ladies-in-waiting Crowning ceremonies gala that is held and televised each year from Acadia University in Wolfville ? This will end the popular community Princess Tea events, the Royal Party visitations to local Schools, hospitals and old folks homes that were so welcome and appreciated by Students, Seniors, shut-ins and the disabled ? And this means the end of Royal Party appearances at the Kentville Children's Parade, the Memorial Park Friday night open air Rock concert and fireworks, and Royal party attendances at many other events held annually throughout the Valley and Province ?
It appears now that current ABF Officials led by President Logan Morse along with Kentville town rep Lindsey Young not only interrupted the Pageant in 2022 when they temporarily postponed it, but have now in 2023 moved to terminate the prestigious event forever explaining that their decision was made to improve, include, modernize and evolve the fampus pageant ? This final act of termination ends almost 90 years of royal pageantry and also leaves a huge gap in the Festival itself ? It also negatively affects the nearby Valley communities who participate and always enter contestants in the Pageant ? The end of this important multiple community event and the taking away of the better half and Star of the Apple Blossom Festival brings forth the question of what replacement is planned, and what are local towns and villages that always play a major role in both the Queen and Princess competition suppose to do now ? And what about Valley youth and childhood dreams of one day becoming a child attendant or an Apple Blossom Princess or even a Queen ?
You have to marvel at the level of disrespect shown by these new generation Officials who have appointed themselves as the ones that will end the Pageant and then think that Valley residents are stupid enough to believe that by cancelling and taking away a long running 90 year old event they have in some perverted way of thinking moved the Valley forward or improved and modernized anything ? It seems far more likely that they have taken a giant leap backwards and robbed the Valley people of a much beloved, multi community, inclusive and live local family production that has always been the most anticipated highlight of the year for the past almost 90 consecutive years ?
Why current ABF Management, who claim to be stewards in charge and responsible for the promotion and presentation of this event, appear unable to perform their duties or to perform the job they're paid to do and do what their predecessors have always done so well each and every year for the past 87 years, often in far more trying circumstances and in far less prosperous times, is difficult to comprehend ? And you have to wonder, Whatever happened to the # 1 rule in business that says that if you can't do your job because of your inexperience, immaturity, inability, personal bias, laziness, or just plain stupidity, then,, YOU'RE ALL FIRED ! (and a Class action recovery suit may be forthcoming ?)
An Identity Crisis ;
Can an identity crisis be looming in the town of Kentville ?
As a cultural genocide continues in Kentville, the Mayor's downtown business back yard is brought up to a never before seen pristine condition ?
A proud and neighborly salt of the earth working class community with generous hard working friendly citizens and a rich historic Railroad, agriculture, food and farming background is losing many of its longtime local traditions, themes and trademarks while elected Town officials, many of them new arrivals just stand still, watch and might even enable ? After having always been identified as the main Provincial railroad center ever since the old Dominion Rail days dating back to 1869, the town has since lost all passenger and freight train rail service in and out including a modern passenger Dayliner service that traveled back and forth to Halifax every day ? And after the railway shut down it seemed they couldn't clear out the brand new train station, dig up tracks and demolish the old roundhouse fast enough ? And so now, in what seems to be a cruel mockery, the only visible signs left in Kentville from past glory years of what had been the largest, most important and active railroad center west of Halifax is now just an aged weather beaten hand painted mural etched on the fading paint of one of the downtown business buildings ?
Sadly, the end of the railway wasn't to be the only loss of a major transportation link to be absorbed by the people of Kentville ? The Town was suddenly left even more isolated from the outside World when Kings County Council ordered the long time Airport to get out for no sane or rational reason when they had done nothing wrong and had no where else to go ? And so a fully operational well known and well established municipal airport, as well as a popular Canadian sky diving facility, and an internationally known long time pilot training licensing academy, and many private aircraft owned by local owners, and numerous other well established aviation businesses were gone and only to be replaced with an empty dirt field full of weeds ? The Council's cruel eviction has also left our young Camp Aldershot Air Cadets without a base of operations, and so the next generation of Kentville youth will now have to grow up without their long standing aviation training and education facility thanks to Warden Brothers and her cohorts ?
And so it had seemed that a Warden who lives in another town Kingston and a duly elected group of officials who don't even live in the area were all congratulating themselves on a brilliant business move after they were able to quickly end the long life of a historic local Aviation facility that had taken decades to build and establish ? And so all that remains of this once thriving aviation Aeropark is a barren field where unsupervised Michelin kids ride bikes and dodge the dandelions that poke heads thru the deteriorating asphalt runway that once served as the landing platform for private and commercial aircraft to fly in and out on a daily basis ? And to add salt to this wound, this senseless eviction and massive loss to the local economy revenue was to be hailed by the prestigious Ivany Report Committee as being a bold and brilliant business decision that will greatly improve and benefit the local area ?
After months of facing homelessness and an uncertain future, some evicted tenants found sites elsewhere and relocated at their own expense to start all over again, while others just quit, and others were finally redirected to a new location in Greenwood (which just happened by chance to be Kings Council County Warden's home riding) ? And so, in the end a devastating loss for Kentville and the entire local area became a windfall for the Kingston Greenwood area, and, Kentville was left to carry on without either a Railway or an Airport ?
When the original Kentville KCA town School closed down, Kentville lost its high school and all high school students were left without a home town school ? They were now to be bused to the nearby town of Canning ? This left only the Grade 1 to 8 age groups now able to identify with Kentville as a home school, a situation that still exists today ? There is no longer a movie theater in Kentville as the downtown movie theater has been closed forever ? The very popular Edge sports bar, eatery and pool hall has also closed down and never replaced ? Kentville's Harvey's Hamburgers drive thru closed down and it also wasn't replaced ? The longtime bowling alley in New Minas was sold to developers, then torn down, and replaced with a business office complex ? We lost our local salvage, reclamation and disposal site in South Alton when the Provincial Government ordered it to be shut down, but the same folks who shut it down never offered to replace it with anything and they left our community without this crucial service ? One day a portion of roof blew off the town funeral home and it has never re-opened since leaving the town with only one such establishment ? And, just as the citizens of Kentville were being shocked to learn that both the historic Apple Blossom Princess and the Queen Annapolisa pageants were to be terminated after 87 consecutive years, there was at the same time an all age Drag Queen show in preparation to appear at the Kings Arms Pub in a total flip flop scenario from the popular Irish Rovers or Scottish pipers that most Kentville citizens identify with at this time of year when they play at the pub ? Numerous local restaurants and many small businesses have come and gone - mostly gone ? After ridiculous Government rules and regulations, Maders is now barely able to hang on after 50 years of serving downtown shoppers ? Kentville main town supermarket Jasons IGA had a fire forcing him to close down for over a year leaving no supermarket to provide groceries for local citizens ? The ever popular multi venue Wandlyn Inn burned down and all of its venues were lost to the community ? The Inn was never replaced after the fire and now there's just a fast food MacDonald's on the old property as a replacement for the lost hotel rooms, the indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna, the nightclub, dual convention centers and dual restaurants offered for years by the Wandlyn Inn ?
The traditional town sponsored July 1st Canada Day ceremonies featuring fun, food, speeches and local entertainment that was always held each year at the wading Pool was curtailed by the Town due to budget considerations, and so if you wanted to enjoy July 1st entertainment or fireworks you must go elsewhere to New Minas, Hantsport or Berwick ? Access to water supply is always one of the most identifiable utility service entitlements provided by a town ? Billions are currently being spent by the Canadian taxpayer to provide First Nations people with free safe water ? Yet Kentville water commission charges the customer 10,000 dollars just to turn town owned water on at the roadside and then leave ? After this 10 G surcharge is forced on the new customer he will still have to pay for yard trenching, pipe laying and household plumbing work ? And then the KWC's valued new customer will be rewarded with a regular water bill delivered to his residence ???
They have even managed to take away Kentville's most famous of all and instantly identifiable town landmark in the hotel name of Cornwallis Inn ? Cornwallis Inn is a well known trademark hotel name that has become synonymous World wide with the name of Kentville and name that represents a multitude of fond memories for many residents ? It was hard to understand why the Town would allow such an important heritage site name to ever be changed, and it was also hard to understand why a previous Town of Kentville planning dept would ever allow numerous subsidized low rental apartment units to be built onto the side of such a famous Town centerpiece and that also blocked the access lane to get to the rear parking lot ? The Cornwallis Inn will always be one of the Valleys greatest treasured landmarks and deserving of protected Canadian heritage site status ?
They have also changed the well known and immediately identifiable names of Kentville Streets and also the name of the local traffic bridge traversing the Cornwallis River ? And so now many citizens and delivery drivers do not know what they're talking about when they use these new names and this can be especially hard on Seniors who can become confused by unnecessary name changes made to long time used accustomed names ? It can create a safety hazard ?
In 2017 ABF Directors attempted to extract Kentville's Grand Street Parade away from its home in Kentville and give it to a different town ? The outraged citizens were then forced to claw and battle just to get their own local parade returned back to them after hosting it for the last 87 years ? And, in yet another huge loss and giant step backwards that same year, ABF decided to cease and desist with all Wednesday, Thursday and weekend games, food, music, displays, amusements, local student displays and performances, etc. etc. always held at Memorial Park during the Apple Blossom festival week ? No explanation was given, no replacement or any apology was ever offered by the Town for such a major loss to Kentville public outdoor entertainment ? Kentville has now lost their most identifiable of all citizens that being their beloved Apple Blossom Princess Kentville, when a newcomer generation of Town and ABF Officials had showed uncommon disrespect and disregard for tradition when presuming themselves to be the generation entitled to end the iconic Queen Annapolisa and Apple Blossom Princess competition after 88 years ? This meant that all public Royal party appearances normally made by Queen Annapolisa and the Royal Party including the Princess Teas, the appearance at Kentville Children's Parade, Friday night concert, Wolfville Coronation ceremonies, starting the fireworks, leading the Parade, all Royal visitations to schools, shut-ins, Seniors, and all of their hospital attendances will no longer be taking place ?
In 2022 the Kentville Grand Street Parade was understandably very limited after the 2 previous cancellations due to Covi but unfortunately this year's 2023 effort wasn't much better ? The contribution and wonderful diversity of many nearby Valley communities from Windsor to Digby was excluded this year and was no longer included in this Parade ? Apple Blossom royalty and all Princess floats were also no longer included ? Many residents expressed extreme disappointment when their beloved Apple Blossom Princess Kentville and her child attendant were no longer included in their own home Town Parade ? It seemed that Kentville had lost its most identifiable citizen and a wonderful Town Ambassador who always carried out important official Town duties by representing the town with beauty, charm, grace, dignity and talent whenever and wherever she visited ?
The long running Friday night rock concert held at Memorial park has been downgraded into a cheap affair only offering some of the regular local entertainment, a few kindergarten bouncy castles and food wagons selling twenty dollar hamburgers, (gone are the days of the dollar dawg ) ? And there is a strange vacancy felt down there now ever since the highlight of the evening Royal Party visitation and great music supplied by Eddy's Basement are no longer included ? And there was even a noted decrease in the quality of the fireworks which btw are no longer started by Queen Annapolisa during Royal Party visitation to the Park following Coronation ceremonies in Wolfville ? Inflation stressed locals were also charged out of pocket to attend the downtown Saturday evening outdoor ABF street dance ?
And so, citizens of Kentville are frustrated with so many cutbacks, cancellations and closures never to be replaced once they are taken away ? Both of the Provincial Railway and the municipal Airport are now permanently closed and even Acadia Van lines inter provincial no longer stops ? The Wandlyn Inn complex and all of its popular hotel and restaurant services were never replaced ? Devastating cut backs to Apple Blossom Festival week and cancellations made to the all week long public entertainment held at Memorial Park reduced to a boring one night Friday night event followed Saturday by a Royal-less Grand Street parade that lasted less than an hour ? The loss of a home High School for Teenage students, the loss of a key funeral home, the loss of the Pool Hall, the ongoing absence of a movie theater, the loss of Harveys drive thru, the loss of one of 2 Tim Hortons and their foreign hiring policy, the loss of the dt pizza parlor, the loss of the local fruit and vegetable market, the absence of a 7/11 convenience store, the closure of the bakery, and also the loss of the local disposal site when there was no replacement ever offered by the same Province that had shut it down ? And there was the shocking elimination of the Apple Blossom Princess event and an end to the prestigious Acadia U Coronation ceremonies in Wolfville ? The sacrilegious change of name to the internationally known name Cornwallis Inn symbolically married to the Town name Kentville and cherished by local residents ? And the serious shortage of tourist facilities after the Wandlyn hotel complex burned down and the Town lost many hospitality, business, tourist, restaurant, hotel, night club, convention and recreational venues have all taken a toll ?
But now, in more recent issues, we are seeing more and more small businesses from all over the Valley that not only provide local employment but serve as popular meet and greet gathering spots for friends and neighbors, now completely changing hands when taken over by outsiders that have not come from Halifax or from N.S. nor even Canada but from another Continent ? This includes replacing management as well as workers and apparently controlling the hiring policy in many long time Valley fast food, gas, and coffee businesses ? And it seems that whenever shopping at the Milne Court Petro-Can, or New Minas Ultramar, KVille Ultramar, KFC, or Mary Browns, the DQ, or the Burger King, or Subway, or any of the 3 Timmies , or Walmart, Needs, or when receiving a parcel from amazon, or paying the bill at many other stores it feels like you're suddenly in a foreign country ? Many newcomer hired employees are new to Canada so don't bother asking for directions, and they are not familiar with the local currency and so it is advisable to count your change if paying by cash ? There are also some worries about the temporary foreign workers program being unfair and even racist, and there is worry about nepotism in the hiring of foreign employees when many of our local residents can't find a local job any more ? "zey puttin ze shitzen in ze pipzen ! ",
A major local employer, Eassons Trucking, has been affected by the current influx of foreign workers with some reports of untrained, unlicensed, unqualified, unsafe (and Government subsidized) drivers behind the wheel, and there are rumors of certain units with multiple drivers that have had a hole drilled in the floor of the sleeper cabin to accommodate a long piece of ABS plumbing pipe used to transfer raw shidzen sewage on a one way trip from the truck cabin interior directly down to the open highway below thus avoiding pit stops at the Big Stop ?
Major concerns were also shown over the recently held Kentville municipal election, when it appeared that many of the candidates didn't know much about Kentville and seemed to ignore the Town's important long time traditions, customs, character and past history ? Some candidates had even naively described Kentville as a kind of idealistic, carefree, blissful, happy Who-ville storybook fairy tale village where jolly munchkins frolic up and down the colorful cobblestone streets bordered by quaint shops, boutiques and fancy eateries ?
Kentville did elect a new Mayor who is also a new local business owner, who must now tackle the current town crisis ? However, it appears that he has befriended and could even be being advised by the ex County Warden Brothers who resides in the Kingston/Greenwood area and doesn't give a squat about Kentville and previously sold out Kentville when leading the charge to expropriate the municipal Airport, popular skydiving academy, international flight training academy and many other successful aviation businesses at Waterville ?
The new Mayors' New Year's message seemed to focus on congratulating himself on the enlargement of the size of his downtown retail store that is located on the recently totally renovated Webster Street, and he expressed personal happiness over the new (taxpayer funded) installation of a brand new double wide sidewalk in front of his store ? However he seemed to leave out a few nagging town issues like current Town youth unemployment, the racial profile hiring that is going on at Hortons, a fentanyl and opioid crisis, current downtown vandalism and suspicious fires, arrival of street people and homelessness, the ending of the Princess Kentville competition, lost revenue due to cancellation of the Apple Blossom and Queen Annapolisa pageant, and the deterioration of the now Royal-less Grand street Parade ? He didn't seem concerned about the loss of all the entertainment at Memorial Park during Apple Blossom week ? There was no mention of the long running need for a indoor town recreation facility (no one wants to get their daily exercise by hiking down crude outdoor trails while attacked by mosquitos and witnessing homeless users shoot up in the privacy of the forest) ? He also failed to mention the current housing crisis and the sudden increases in cost of renting ? Nothing was heard about the alarming increase in downtown business foreclosures and bankruptcieshere and also no mention of the problem of no place to stay or eat for tourists who visit Kentville ? There was nothing said about a need to honor Kentville's glorious past railroading heritage and history with a museum and outdoor train and locomotive display of some sort ? And many were alarmed at the recent mistreatment of Senior citizens in the Grand Street Parade when seen perched precariously aboard an unstable, stop and go, unsheltered, jerking motion, no sided open vehicle without restraining devices, water or protection from the sun in a float designed to hold only the Apple Blossom Princess Kentville and her child attendant ? Nothing said about the pressing need to build a Town high school for Kentville teens ? There was also some controversy over the hanging up of the biggest pride flag money can buy above the main entrance of honorary heritage site Cornwallis Inn ? And of course, many residents are concerned over the serious Town drainage problem discovered after recent town flooding ? There was also shock when the Provincial Government forced the local reclamation and disposal site to permanently close down but never offer to replace it and just left shocked citizens without this vital service ? And, there remains a demand for an inquiry into the exploitation of many vulnerable customers when, unlike the Indians, they are charged a five figure fee by Kentville water commission just to turn their water on at the road and offered no further help ? And there are new concerns over the formation of an exclusive kind of Ontarioville newcomer type club that is gradually establishing itself to be its own independent town within a town ? There were also concerns put forth by many local drivers over this years Spring pothole epidemic making some streets unfit to drive on (at a time when a brand new double lane sidewalk in front of Phinneys was smooth as a baby's bum), and a Town refusal to help drivers with their expensive auto repairs caused by unmarked dangerous potholes ? And there were many complaints about the inconvenience felt by local area residents when ultra slow motion repairs on Canaan Ave moved at three legged turtle race speed causing a vital access route to remain closed to traffic, incl emergency vehicles, for many many Months, (unlike the speedy workmanship and high priority given to a street beautification program in front of Phinneys) ?
Adding to this, many citizens of Kentville and all veterans were extremely disappointed and did not appreciate the disrespect shown when ( due to a drop of rain ) Town and newly elected organizers cancelled this year's Military march-on and (the best in area) honorary Remembrance Day ceremonies that are always held outdoors at the Memorial Cenotaph on Park Street and moved it indoors ?
And so, can it be time to stop come from away newcomer mentality, and to make it mandatory that all candidates bidding on these important Town governing positions must be born, raised and reside in the town of Kentville in an effort to preserve, protect, retain and respect the unique character, history, diversity, identity and many longtime community traditions that make Kentville ?

2025 Kentville Grand Street Parade - Is this some kind of a cruel joke ? Very few entrees and shortened Kentville Grand Street Parade this year ? Zero in large marching street bands and majorettes other than the regular RCMP (mini version) marching unit, no Sottish pipers or pipe bands, zero in Apple Blossom Royalty and no famous royal floats, Most of the regular nearby Valley village participants not there, no horse and wagons, no armaments, soldiers, marching bands or displays from Aldershot or Greenwood, etc etc, ? May 29th, 2026, Kentville Memorial Park, the ABF Friday night concert, ( Can the good ole days of dollar dogs and bargain Big 8 soda pops be over) ? High level security protocol established and enforced for an evening of pricey food trucks and kids bouncy castles ? ( security must have used up most of the Town budget while sacrificing the provision of some quality outside live entertainment) ? Town brings in outside police to reinforce local Kentville police force, cordons off the entire ground zero event perimeter area with road blocks, street barricades and manned check point charlie guard posts to insure maximum traffic control but unfortunately has forced patrons, including seniors, the disabled, toddlers, and Mothers carrying babies to park and then walk a fair distance in order to reach the park gates ? Also, in past years concert organizers always brought in special outside guest rock bands, and this event had always featured interesting games, demonstrations and displays, and there was always a visit from the Queen Annapolisa Royal party following the prestigious coronation ceremony in Wolfville, However, unfortunately, this years event seems to have deteriorated into some kind of a Children's outdoor romper room type family show featuring food trucks, inflatable air bouncy castles and a local band featured as the star main stage performer ? There's not much to do or see for those exceeding the elementary school level other than maybe purchase some food from a food truck that charges upscale restaurant prices and then dine on a paper plate using plastic utensils while standing in a crowd of unruly kids and being lustfully observed by some nearby saliva drooling pet dogs leashed to their owners ? A cheap and weak effort shown this year in a harvest festival that didn't include many long time traditions like the family horse-drawn hay wagon ride or the pumpkin people scarecrow making class, contest and the live group demo ? Didn't see much of a showing from the Valley harvest, Valley livestock or the local farmer ? Many usual Harvest Festival standards always featured in past festivals are no longer here but are instead replaced by business kiosks selling commercial merchandise that is unrelated to the harvest theme ? This year's newcomer harvest festival featured some kids bouncy castles, business kiosks and some high-priced food trucks ?
Upgrade 2025 ? A photo taken from in front of Phinney's dept store on Webster Street downtown Kentville after major renovations to double its size gave Phinneys the second largest downtown store front display window area next only to the liquor Store ? There's been a massive Town expenditure budgeted this year for major upgrades to the Mayor's downtown business backyard as Webster Street gets a complete 100 % beautification makeover to bring it up to pristine shape with new installations of street paving, paint and signage etc, new double sidewalks both sides, driveway entrances, and new curb and gutter both sides ? All surrounding streets in this business block area were also upgraded including Aberdeen Street (twice), Cornwallis Street and Main Street ?

A cultural genocide is going on in Kentville ? Why is it always Kentville ? Now it's the library ? First came the loss of the Railway and Day-liner service back in 1989, then Kings council expropriated the local Airport and evicted the many other established aviation schools and businesses, they had tried to take Grand street parade away from Kentville in 2017, and then we lost the famous Cornwallis Inn logo and the 88 yrs old statue in Halifax was torn down, they then terminated Apple Blossom Princess Kentville and ended the 87 consecutive years of the Queen Annapolisa pageant. Kentville lost a huge amount of diversity provided by the many nearby villages that always participated in the Festival, as well as a termination of the Princess teas, the Coronation, and all of the popular mid-week public outdoor entertainment always held at Memorial Park during ABF week ? And now they appear to be after the popular long time Kentville Library ?
After the Town had terminated many of the traditional sources of public enjoyment and then never offered anything similar or even a close replacement, and, as Kentville gradually approaches cultural ghost town status, it has become noticable that the downtown business core, (in which the Mayor has a major private business interest ) has been totally renovated and restored to a never before seen pristine condition by way of a new beautification program complete with new installations of street paving, street paint, new double sidewalks on both sides, new driveway entrances, new curb and gutter both sides, signage and flower pots ? On the recent 2023 edition of the Grand Street Parade :
"it looked as if some spectators along the route just joined in and began to walk along to make themselves a part of the parade ? "
May 27th, 2023 - Dismay, disillusion and disappointment prevail in Kentville over the shocking changes and the missing regular entrees in this years 2023 Grand Street Parade ? Where is our famous Queen Annapolisa and where are Apple Blossom Princesses and child attendants riding in their beautiful hand crafted decorated floats ? Where's the town criers ? And what about majorette groups, Scottish pipers and large multi marching bands that always attend ? And where is Hantsport and Windsor and their large delegations ? And where are Digby, Aylesford, Annapolis Royal, Canning, Middleton, Wolfville, and more ? Why are so many of the Valley towns and villages that normally participate not included in the parade this year ? It was also disappointing for many when for the first time ever, Kentville Apple Blossom Princess (aka Miss Kentville) was no longer included ? Many local residents young and old identify with the Apple Blossom Princess at this time of year ? The sacred royal float was used this year to transport a group of everyday town residents that sat together in a social scene meant to identity Kentville with diversity and inclusion ? The New Minas float also did not include their usual Apple Blossom Princess this year, however it was transformed into a mobile advertising commercial for the famous New Minas UFO incident which all New Minions can identify with. Berwick's float didn't include a Princess Berwick this year but had been altered to proudly identify with their town's upcoming Centennial celebrations. And the Kingston float was also missing its Apple Blossom Princess this year but was instead promoting their long running Kingston Steer Barbecue that all Kingstonians can identify with. It was good to see an RCMP contingent again although they only sent a far smaller mini version this year ? And we noticed only one other large marching band in the parade when there is usually 4 or more of these street march bands, many with pipers, that always attend after traveling from places like Cape Breton, Bridgewater, Dartmouth etc ? And where were the pets and farm animals ? There wasn't horse teams, no wooden wagons, riders or livestock this year and even the usual greyhound dogs didn't show ? Also noticed that some spectators must have taken it upon themselves to just walk along to themselves become a part of the parade ? Others must have come over from the Children's parade with strollers to join in ? There was a variety of advertisers, most from out of town but some local ? There were various Political parties represented, with the largest delegation coming from the Kody Blois Liberals as they were emphasizing inclusion and diversity ?
All in all, this Year's parade seemed to be a minimum weak effort that really missed the inclusion and diversity of Apple Blossom royal pageantry and the 7 to 10 spectacular Princess floats ? It also missed all the large marching bands, majorette groups and popular Scottish pipers that always attend ? It also lacked the usual agriculture horticulture and livestock component, and also the many out of town contingents that normally participate ? This was not the famous grand street parade that patrons are used to seeing and did not represent the high standards and degree of professionalism set by all previous Grand Street Parades ? It became obvious that what they had advertised as a newer, bolder, more inclusive and more diverse parade was instead just the opposite because sadly it was instead missing the diversity and inclusion provided by the many excluded local Valley communities and all of their Apple Blossom Princess contestants that always come to Kentville to participate in the Queen Annapolisa competition before taking a Royal ride down Main street Kentville on their beautiful hand crafted Town floats ?
And so, quickly summing up, can such a strange, incomplete, amateurish, cheap imitation version of our world-famous Kentville Grand Street Parade that is missing her Royal heinous Queen Annapolisa and the 7 to 10 Apple Blossom Princesses with their 7 to 10 beautifully handcrafted Town Princess floats and also missing the unique character and diversity provided by the many now uninvited Valley communities, and that appears to be a new generation cheap re-set version of the original historic Grand Street Parade now signal the end of the once glorious Grand Street Parade era ?

November 18, 2010 - "Roles for Third Parties in Improving Implementation of EPA's and OSHA's Regulations on the Management of Low-Probability, High-Consequence Process Safety Risks" - Penn Program on Regulation, in conjunction with the Wharton Risk Management Center, hosted a conference regarding the usage of third party auditors in the enforcement of regulatory safety measures in high risk industries. Industries which experts call "Low-Probability, High-Consequence," such as nuclear reactors, oil refineries, or chemical processing plants, are specifically hoped to be improved by third party inspections safety. The conference brought together numerous participants from a variety of fields, including from government, industry, insurance, academia, and non-profit sectors. The conference consisted of a day-long discussion spread over three separate panels. Over the course of the conference, participants stressed the importance of implementing a third party system to effectively and thoroughly audit industry despite lack of adequate funds and resources. Other potential scenarios offered for enacting effective third party auditing included making sure that these third party auditors were completely independent from the industries they would be inspecting so as to eliminate bias or a conflict of interest. Another issue to consider is the question of whose authority would the third party auditors be under and what kind of enforcement power would they have to enforce industry change. One of the panel discussions brought up the potential linkage of third party audits with insurance companies so as to provide an incentive for industry to decrease safety risks in order to pay lower insurance premiums. En un verdadero atractivo para los amantes del deporte y del público en general se convertirá durante esta temporada estival la Playa del Deporte 2013, hermoso recinto deportivo al aire libre que por sexto año consecutivo implementó la Municipalidad de Viña del Mar, a través de la Casa del Deporte.
La Playa del Deporte, situada frente al Club de Campo Las Salinas, fue oficialmente inaugurada este lunes por la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, quien en compañía de los concejales Mafalda Reginato, Jaime Varas y del director de la Casa del Deporte, Javier Aravena además de invitados especiales y deportistas procedieron al tradicional corte de cinta.
Durante la ceremonia la primera autoridad comunal junto con mostrarse complacida por entregar a la comunidad esta nueva alternativa veraniega, hizo un llamado a la ciudadanía y a los miles de turistas que visitan Viña del Mar a concurrir a la Playa del Deporte para disfrutar de las diversas canchas que fueron habilitadas para la ocasión.
“La Playa del Deporte, se ha convertido durante sus seis temporadas en una experiencia muy positiva y enriquecedora para los habitantes de Viña del Mar y los turistas, que hacen de la actividad física y la recreación momentos relevantes en sus vacaciones. Al habilitar nuevamente este emblemático espacio de recreación, sana convivencia y espíritu deportivo, reiteramos nuestro compromiso con el deporte para todos los grupos etáreos de la comunidad, mostrando un nuevo rostro, pues ahora se complementada con la Quinta Etapa del Parque Borde Costero, donde existen modernas máquinas para hacer ejercicios, permitiendo una continuidad y mayor presencia de público en las actividades y talleres”, dijo la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato.
Por su parte el vicepresidente de la Federación de Tenis de Chile, José Santelices, a nombre de las diversas entidades que estarán presente durante el verano en la Playa del Deporte, destacó la iniciativa implementada en Viña del Mar, además de su continuidad resaltando el gran trabajo deportivo que se ha realizado en diversos sectores de la comuna.
Terminadas sus palabras el dirigente del tenis chileno, le obsequió a la jefa comunal una paleta de tenis beach.
Finalmente el director de la Casa del Deporte, Javier Aravena indicó que “en la Playa del Deporte se llevaran a cabo una serie de eventos entre los que destacan el Torneo de Rugby 5, el Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol Playa ANFP, el Sudamericano de Voleibol, el Torneo Gol Iluminado, las clínicas de Tenis Beach, Bodyboard y Surf además de los talleres de Tai Chi Kung, Baile Entretenido, Pilates, Taekwondo y gimnasia aeróbica por nombrar algunos.
CARACTERÍSTICAS
La Playa del Deporte habilitada sobre una superficie de 15 mil metros cuadrados, consta de una cancha de fútbol, una de rugby, tres de vóleibol y dos de beach tenis, además de un muro de escalada y un área de slake line.
La Playa del Deporte estará habilitada hasta marzo del presente año, dependiendo de las condiciones del tiempo.
