This might be my favorite photo in the large, Genesee County Parks system. This looks south across the Arboretum Pond at the For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum. When the sky and approaching sunset light line up like this, it makes for quite the reflection. This was taken in May, 2022.
Letztes Jahr fuhren am Wochenende noch zahlreiche 1144 im REX-Verkehr zwischen Innsbruck und Landeck-Zams (heute leider wohl nur noch die Verstärker unter der Woche).

„... Seltsam. Bisher hatte ich an menschenleeren Orten wie diesem nie ein Gefühl, das ich als eigenartig bezeichnet hätte. Aber heute war es anderes als sonst. Diese Worte beziehe ich nicht auf dieses Foto und die Nacht, an dem es entstanden ist. Ich meine tatsächlich den heutigen Morgen. Aktuell ist ein Teilstück der Autobahn 42 in Bottrop gesperrt. Und in den letzten Nächten habe ich die Sperrung für mich genutzt. Und irgendwann vor wenigen Stunden stand ich da alleine in der Nacht und hatte tatsächlich das Gefühl, vollkommen den Kontakt zur Welt verloren zu haben. Dabei war alles wie immer. Ich in meinen gewohnten Sujets. Eingehüllt in Stille und Dunkelheit und eigenartige Lichtstimmungen... Aber da war kein Geräusch, sondern nur eine laute Stille. Und einzig das Ausatmen der Kokerei in der Ferne hat mir das Gefühl gegeben, dass irgendwie in dieser Nacht noch andere Menschen wach sein müssen... Die Befindlichkeit meines Herzens war wie immer. Innig verbundenen mit meinem ganz eigenen Blick auf meine Heimat. Aber zum ersten Mal war ein Gedanke in meinem Kopf tatsächlich lauter als mein Bauchgefühl...“
