This ‘Mejiro’ (Zosterops japonicus) with some of its friends was visiting the Sakura tree (Cerasus itosakura) to enjoy ‘Ohanami’.

Zosterops japonicus (Warbling white-eye, ‘Mejiro’ in Japanese) is a passerine bird in the white-eye family, native to Japan and eastern Asia. Cerasus itosakura (‘Edo-higan’) is a wild species Sakura native to Japan.

The " Zaanse Schans " is an area which reflects the Dutch entrepreneurship in the 18th and 19th centuries. Nowadays it is a touristic attraction ( that also brings in a lot of money).

And yes the horse is looking right at me; I'm out in the deeper water, the horse is daring me to stay in their path - luckily the riders are in complete control and no photographer injuries occurred over our 4 days of shooting.

It's just 10 years this evening since this was snapped up there in the Outer Hebrides. So apologies for the re-post but this one has done so well since I posted it on here in 2012 so thought I'd give it another airing.
