Bad air in the Bay Area from the smoke of the fires burning around us. This air is actually clearer down low than it was earlier in the day, but the air up high was still brown.

The shipwreck of the cargo ship the Plassey on the Aran Island of Inis Oirr. It was shipwrecked in a storm in 1960 (all the crew were rescued) and has lain here every since (I think it’s been moved around by storms). For anyone who’s seen the comedy series Father Ted - this is the shipwreck in the credits at the start! For more about the Plassey and Inis Oirr:
During my visit in Rotterdam, I absolutely wanted go through the markthall, which is a giant building full of local markets, bars and restaurants. It's a very crowded place, I had to wait a while till I had nobody in my frame to grab this shot. Patience is a vertue.
Red Crested Turaco
From Fun Facts
Turacos are the only birds to possess actual red and green pigments in their feathers. The red pigment (turacin) and green pigment (turacoverdin) both contain copper. When you look at most birds, the color you perceive is a reflection produced by their feather structure.
These birds have highly mobile outer toes that can rotate forward or backward.
They use their long tails for balance and their feet are very good at gripping.
These birds produce a call that sounds like "go way" which is why they are often referred to as Go-Away Birds.
These birds have a beautiful red crest, which stands about 5 cm (2 in.) high when excited.
