Lilium auratum (Golden-rayed lily, ‘Yamayuri’ in Japanese) is a wild species of lily native to Japan. This species was brought to Europe in the 19th century and used as a mother plant of modern hybrid lilies.

It was rainy and, for a while, stormy too. Across the Main-Danube Canal in downtown Bamberg. The shot seems to have just a bit more atmosphere or mood in this monochrome version. [DSC04418_lr_3000]

When I went walking along the river to this location I could tell the flow was very shallow after all the dry weather we have had. I was curious to find out what the effect would be on this little fall. When I saw these strands of silk I couldn't wait to get the camera out.
