Another -wider- view of Metsovo, the traditional village in Epirus, northern Greece.

This dusk panorama was merged from 3 single shots taken from the tripod with the 75mm f1.25 Noctilux at the Leica M11. Merging, post processing, masking of the sky and editing it separately was done in Lightroom.

In comparison to the first panorama taken from this summit, view goes more to the southwestern direction with the entire mountain chains of Wetterstein and Karwendel. Zugspitze is well visible about two thirds from the left border. In the foreground we can see the mountains of the Tegernsee region.

Siwa Desert

A juvenile Bald Eagle plays with a Ring-billed Gull. The stakes are high, but the Ring-bill out-maneuvered the Eagle.

The shutter speed was a little low for this action, but, I thought, "Content trumps Quality". (Thanks, Jerry AMende, for this phrase!).

Eigentlich ging es an diesem Tag zu allererst um den GC49411 Baalberge - Brzeg Dolny, also der samstägliche Präferenzzug schlechthin. Aber die Eisenbahn war mal wieder verspätet und zusammen mit der Information, dass 232 005 den Zug befördert, sorgte das schon für einige Aufregung in der Runde. Man konnte lediglich weiter warten oder nach Niesky fahren, wo WFL 231 012 mit Kippwagen eintreffen sollte. Gesagt, getan! Danach ging es ohne schuldhaftes Zögern zurück nach Mückenhain, denn ein Zusatzzug mit 232 567 von Ruhland nach Wegliniec war im Radar.

Natürlich wurde 232 005 durch den "Tröster" 231 012 verpasst, aber das war völlig in Ordnung. Am frühen Nachmittag kam sie mit 45428 in der Ausfahrt Wegliniec auf den Film.

When I went walking along the river to this location I could tell the flow was very shallow after all the dry weather we have had. I was curious to find out what the effect would be on this little fall. When I saw these strands of silk I couldn't wait to get the camera out.
