Vienese hot chocolate, incredibly rich, chocolatey and topped with chantilly cream. So thick you could eat it with a spoon. Healthy it was NOT but sooooo delicious.
mmmm, a lovely strong creamy hot chocolate made (mostly) to a Nigella Lawson recipie. This mug has a very cute picture of a fairy on it & I call it the love fairy because there are love hearts everywhere :-)
An early night for me tonight ...
I have had 3 good nights of sleep due to the new medication I got from the doctor. It works a treat, although I feel a little drowsy the next day, a small sacrifice for getting back a regular sleep pattern.
Joined a great new group called Get Pushed!! where you are paired with someone who gives you a photographic challenge ouside your comfort zone. This is the one the delightful and talented yrrgeirs sent me: "SPLASH! I´m challenging you to do a "SPLASH" shot. Coffee splash, milk splash, water..........or whatever comes to mind! Try it, might be fun! :-D"
It was messy fun, but I'm afraid I only had five minutes to spare from my exam marking, so the two shots are rushed and sooc. Coward that I am, I tried it first with water, and only then with hot chocolate. I think the water one is slightly better, though neither of them is brilliant. I shall try this again when I have time. BTW, I dropped a golf-ball sized tomato into the cups to get the splashes! Now you should all go join Jordy's group and Get Pushed!!
A teaspoon of Hershey's Dutch chocolate powder (the baking variety, so there's only chocolate, and nothing else) mixed with a 3/4th cup of hot water, and two tablespoons of half and half (I use Land O Lakes Mini Moo's). A pinch of dried smoked chipotle powder gives that spicy punch with a subtle smoky flavor, and a sachet of your preferred sweetening agent. Topped off with some light whipped cream and chocolate flakes. It's not winter yet; I'm just getting ready.

We enjoyed our Sunday Brunch @ The IFI, The Irish Film Institute located in Temple Bar, the heart of Cultural Dublin, near the Gallery of Photography and the River Liffey || Our Brunch Choices included: Eggs Royal, Eggs Benedict, French Toast with Bacon and Maple Syrup, Hot Chocolates and Orange Juice x2. Recommended before or after seeing a movie, but the food was memorable even on a stand alone basis when visiting the IFI as a destination. Enjoy, we would consider to eat here again in the future.
It has been soooo cold here, so hot chocolate is all I have been drinking lately. Seriously though, it was like, -5 degrees yesterday. It was terrible.
So far, I've spent my snowed in afternoon this way....making ornaments with old recycled light blubs, bundled in jammies and fuzzy socks with hot cocoa and wrapping gifts.
There is little I find more engaging and rewarding than quiet reading. I have always loved reading, and have amassed an enormous number of books. When Aled & I first moved in together, moving my books was by far the thing that took the most time (his was moving electricals). He said to me - exhausted and exasperated on moving day, "Catherine, do you really need all these books?!" Heh, do I need them... the ridiculous things he comes out with sometimes!
Darling little marshmallow snowmen to top a steaming mug of hot chocolate.
So cute that they will delight children, as well as the young at heart.

Pack them in a cello bag, along with a mason jar of hot cocoa mix, for a great hostess gift.
