Handheld long exposure and cloud blur :)

Qatar National Day Celebrations, Dec 18th 2009. I wish i had time to setup a tripod.

This is taken from fireworks finnish championship 2008 contests.

 

Against popular fireworks photography wisdom, I shot this handheld using "fast" 1/10s shutter time.

 

Chenyu was right...this was a cool shot :)

Rookery at Ocean City - Black-crowned Night Heron

 

The Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), commonly abbreviated to just night heron in Eurasia, is a medium-sized heron found throughout a large part of the world, except in the coldest regions and Australasia (where it is replaced by the closely related rufous night heron, with which it has hybridized in the area of contact).

You can clearly see the larger pipe and the smaller one and the water in between, draining from the grow bed.

low angle, zoom, handheld, two CFL "daylight" bulbs provide extra lighting

Best in a quick experimental set of photos, took about 10 over a 5 minute period when I noticed the sky was clear for once whilst in Moruya, NSW, Australia.

 

Will bring tripod next time and get some better shots.

Tmax 100, Hasselblad 500c, Zeiss Planar 80mm, f/2.8, 1/15th, handheld. I was surprised that this one semi turned out. Lack of light, slow film and handheld in a dark bedroom, lit by a blacklight.
