When photographing the moon, I start with a shutter speed of 1/1000th and continue with faster speeds. The moon at this phase is very bright...so I continue shooting until I move up to 1/8000th of a second. All of my moon photos are handheld using a Nikkor 80-400mm VR lens.

i love my new little camera - though its portability does increase the chance of me taking slightly drunken shots :)
we're just back from a short break in brussels - it's a fantastic place, and i have about a squillion photos to sort through (mostly of the v shiny atomium and, erm, beer - somethings never change, eh!) but i've been feeling v out of sorts this week so haven't had chance to do this yet.
well, off to orlando on sunday for a conference, so will hopefully be able to take advantage of jet lag and travel time to catch up on some flickring :)
