My coworker Brent has a NEC MobilePro 900 that he uses on a regular basis even though he owns a 17" Macbook Pro. It runs Windows CE and connects to WiFi with a compact flash card. (He could plug the CF card in the front slot, but prefers to use a PCMCIA adapter to put it in the side.)
A few weeks ago he brought it to a tech conference in Green Bay. During the presentations he used it to VPN into his home computer, stream music, and do a host of other things.
The Y2K Family Survival Guide is a recent acquisition for him too. The book is a riot to read ten years after the fact. It even promotes teaching your children about the Bible in light of a Y2K disaster.
Our wii broke, and Nintendo is close by, so I took it directly to their customer service center. It's just a small lobby with a bit of swag for sale, but there's some cool Nintendo history there. See the notes for details.
This photo was taken handheld, with my Canon 5DSR and Canon 14mm lens. In order to get good light, I had to bump up the ISO. It was interesting to see the differences between the high ISO shots versus the low ISO (100) shots when I used the same preset in Lightroom to initiate the photo edit. Of course, noise was an issue but was taken care of with a noise-reduction application.
I like the perspective that a mere 2mm difference between 14mm and 16-35mm can give me.

Among the three most important cistercian monasteries in the so-called New Catalonia, the Abbey of Santa Maria in Vallbona de les Monges was the only one housing a feminin religious community. Still nowadays there's a part of the monastery closed to the tourists as it's inhabited by enclosed nuns. Around 1175 a group of nuns established here and decided to dedicate their lives to the observance of the Rule of St. Benedict. Many ladies of the Catalan nobility were attracted by the good reputation of the Abbey, and even kings as Alfonso II or Jaime I visited it several times. The wealth of the Abbey grew, as it received donations and inheritances, which alllowed the abbess Saurena of Anglesola to buy the civil and legal authority over their possessions to Pedro III.

Historic building, second shot of the day, also handheld. Looks like I can almost get it with practice. Pinholes shot on instax wide with speed graphic and lomograflok.
Instax wide is approx ISO 800. At f/225 these were 1/3 to 1/4 second exposures neither of which exists on the speed graphic.
These should be handheld snapshots but the shutter release is too robust and pulling or flinching is inevitable off hand.
1950 Air Force issue Graflex Speed Graphic given up for dead but mostly rehabilitated. 0.4mm pinhole which Mr Pinhole states should be f/225 at 90mm. 90mm is about the optimum focal length for that aperture. 90mm is 3.54 inches and the speed graphic because of its focal plane shutter has a minimum flange focal distance of 2 3/8 inches. However, the lomograflok requires 19mm (3/4 inch) pushback due to its design. Therefore 71mm is 2 13/16 leaving us with a mere 7/16th inch of clearance, but it works fine.

Osprey of Sandy Hook at Voodoo Bunker
The Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus), sometimes known as the Sea Hawk, Fish Eagle or Fish Hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey. It is a large Raptor, reaching more than 24 inches (60 cm) in length and a 71 inches (180 cm) wingspan. It is brown on the upper parts and predominantly greyish on the head and under parts, with a black eye patch and wings. In 1994, the osprey was declared the provincial bird of Nova Scotia, Canada.

Sandy Hook is a barrier spit in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The barrier spit, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) in length and varying from 0.1 to 1.0 mile (0.16 to 1.61 km) wide, is located at the north end of the Jersey Shore. It encloses the southern entrance of Lower New York Bay south of New York City, protecting it from the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The Dutch called the area "Sant Hoek", with the English "Hook" deriving from the Dutch "Hoek" (corner, angle), meaning "spit of land". Most of Sandy Hook is currently owned and managed by the National Park Service as the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.
Fort Hancock is a former United States Army fort at Sandy Hook, located in Middletown Township in Monmouth County, along the Atlantic coast of eastern New Jersey in the United States. This coastal artillery base played an important part in the defense of New York Harbor and played a role in the history of New Jersey. Between 1874 and 1919, Fort Hancock was operated in conjunction with the Army's Sandy Hook Proving Ground.
In 1893, Fort Hancock installed Battery Potter, the nation's first disappearing gun battery. It also was important for the defense of the vital New York Harbor throughout World War II, preventing the entrance of German submarines into the harbor. In the late 1950s Project Nike antiaircraft missiles were based there. Fort Hancock was decommissioned in 1974.
The fort and its small museum are managed as part of the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, and is part of National Parks of New York Harbor unit of the National Park System.

...I was too lazy to mount my tripod, but energized enough to circle the block for this shot. Handheld HDR's work well in 'large' size, but in 'original' size the compromises that went into making this are painfully obvious. Think about it like a handheld night shot. If you hike the ISO to 1600 or 3200 you may get a nicely composed and sharp shot, but it will be grainy. Same here - and it is better to get the shot than not get it at all...
One cost is the blurry left side of the picture. I was using my wide angle, but at lower f-stop than f/8 - and that typically blurs stuff outside the main focus. Why use it at lower f-stop? f/8 requires longer shutter speed increasing the probability of camera movement. I do increase ISO to 320-500 to minimize camera movement anyway. Also I always try to take these with my 40D (faster shooting speed) than my XTi.
