Hand Carved Stamp, carved to be a "cancellation" stamp for my avain faux postage

Maybe I should wear gloves next time I decide to spend the whole day gardening...

Blueberries! Not yet ripe enough really, kinda tart. They were still a welcome find.

An example of the lost art of hand painted truck lettering. As a boy, I sat enthralled with the skill of the local sign painter as I watched him hand letter my Dad's name, our home phone number and town in a cream colour with a black drop shadow on the doors of our red '54 Ford pickup truck.

Happy Valentines day everyone. (A day late, but who cares..)

Metaxourgeio Carnival 23/2/2014

As I walked across the Millennium Bridge from Tate Modern to St Pauls Cathedral, I looked down and was attracted to the people and their shadows. This particular couple appeared to be enjoying their day out as the walked hand in hand up the slope to access the bridge from the embankment.

Took this today on the bus. It's just my boyfriend and I holding hands.

I used to jog past a giant hand when I lived and worked in Washington, D.C. and this one was snapped by Marcelo Hernandez on Brava beach in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

By Christian Ristow, Taos, New Mexico

The Hand of Man is a large hydraulically-actuated human hand and forearm, capable of movement in all the same axes as a human hand and forearm, and fabricated from steel and stainless steel. This enormous Hand is controllable by way of an ergonomically accurate "glove". Anyone who wishes to operate this gigantic and powerful Hand need only insert their hand into the glove controller, and any motion they produce from the elbow forward will be accurately and quickly reproduced by the large machine Hand. Participants experience the tremendous thrill of power and control as they lift, twirl and crush objects of their choice, such as cars and pianos.

Yashica Electro 35 GS | Cinestill BW XX (ISO250)

On my last trip to Santa Barbara, I decided to check out the beach area to see what was new. Well I found a Skater's Point with a bunch of skaters dressed up in Halloween costumes.. What better then to grab some shots of these guys doing there thing! It's not Dogtown U.S.A. but it was still fun!

Gave me a chance to shoot some 5222 from Cinestill... Shot this at ISO 250. Next time I am going to up the ISO to give me faster shutter speeds but I think I did alright!

Here are my 30 yards of hand spun yarn (about worsted weight) from roving dyed in Kool-aid. I like the effect dying the roving gives the yarn, compared to dying it with Kool-aid after spinning in this case. The colors are a bit softer, more muted. it was spun on my light little Louet spindle.

They're getting old and wrinkly.... Aaack!

From the Milton Bradley game of "Happiness." Love the little bead popper in the shape of a hand!

-*-

I bought Happiness for $2.50, plus shipping. Go figure

I saw this game on Raining Rita's photostream and decided I couldn't be truly happy until I had a copy of my own. A quick tour of eBay turned up a dozen offers. I chose a complete set and popped for the shipping. It was a buy-it-now auction.

I have no regrets--the groovy graphics are so 1970s. I can't wait to put it together and play it soon!
