This is a holy water container (stoup) at the entrance of a church in Italy and it was protected by plexiglass. The lighting was terrific, I think the blueish lighting was halogen which lit the figures from beneath adding mystery to the photograph, but made white balance a difficult compromise. The angle of the pedestal balances against the bright lights to give an interesting dynamic composition. I'm just loving my photographs, this was a hidden gem that hundreds of people were walking buy every hour.

The most common factors to check are the size of the appliance and the cost. If you want to prepare large meals, get the halogen oven and an air fryer for small meals. If you are cash strapped, an air fryer is cheaper. Choosing between the Halogen oven and an air fryer depends on your needs.

A couple of weeks ago our electrician son completed the changeover from halogen down-lights to state of the art LED down-lights in our house. The new type can be seen on the right in the above photo. They consume 8 watts per lamp compared to a maximum of 50 watts with the older halogen lamp and its external transformer on the left. Besides using much less energy and running cooler, the new LEDs also produce brighter more pleasing 'warm white' light. We've also changed over all the old fleuro style lamps which replaced the hundred watt tungsten lamps ten or twelve years ago to self-contained state of the art 14 watt LED bulbs. The daily power consumption for lighting in our house is now dramatically much less than it was a few months ago. Overall we are very pleased with the change. 10w Halogen overvolted (powered by 13 nimh AA batteris). Last a little over an hour, but you can notice it getting dimmer by 1/2 hour.

12V(50W) halogen lightbulb inside a nest of insulated copper cable.
The idea is that I will build up more coils untill it represents a entity that can be picked up and placed around the home. It will be protected and shaded by its own coiled wires. The coils will eventually end at a single long cord that when placed back at its 'home' will switch the light off through the use of a micro switch. I hope this to personify the object and to raise the issue of responible power use.
