A large house in Half Moon Bay, California.

The Half Moon, den of iniquity frequented by ne'erdowells, rapscallions and scallywags. So, basically your typical English pub.

Taken on my usual Sunday morning stroll to the newsagents...which I found closed due to the twin scourges of high street business rates as well as appalling customer service.

I've been mad for effin' years.

The little half moon was out after we had a good day of rain. I was quite pleased with this considering I used a 35 mm lens. It came out a lot sharper than I had anticipated.

A view of a half moon over Isolillock Mountain at sunrise. Taken from my doorstep near Hope, B.C.

Coming home late one night I noticed this half moon with a distinct reddish-orange glow as it was low in the sky.

Regresando tarde a casa, me fijé en la luna media que tenía un brillo rojo-anaranjado muy notable mientras que estaba bajo en el cielo.

The Bells of Half Moon Bay

The Bells of Half Moon Bay (corner of Main Street and Kelly Avenue)

In the early years of the 20th century, school children responded to the toll of this original bell located at Mac Dutra Park. Firemen responded to another old bell now located at our new Fire Station at the south end of Main Street. (Neither bell is in its original location.)

Antarctica is the fifth continent I’ve visited, and it’s truly a wonderful place. If you zoom in on the image, you can spot penguins perched at the top of Half Moon Dome.

Beautiful clear sky tonight and I've decided to take a half moon shot with my 70-300mm lens. This was zoomed at 270mm.

The Half Moon Motel opened in 1955 and this great neon sign adorned the street side of the motel until 2016 when the place was sold and the classic 50's style done away with and the neon sign scraped ......... now the motel looks like any other crap refurbish with cheap back lit plastic signage, this happens with new owners who don't understand it's better and more profitable to upgrade and restore a place these days and attract customers with a classic mid-century motel than what was done to this motel

My first experience with moon shots.

Half Moon Cay beaches have nice white sand - on a private island in the Caribbean Sea. Aka Little San Salvador Island.

Accessible by cruise ship... the long, crescent-shaped Half Moon Beach there is shown in photo.

Earth's Half Moon 07_01_2025

We finally had a nice day in Melbourne. 17.C . Not bad for the middle of Winter. So off to beach we went in the late afternoon as the sun was starting to fade.

And who said we do not have great beachs in Melbourne, Half Moon Bay has these very fragile cliffs made from sandstone which gives the beach some great added interest.
