A partial panorama of the beach area on Half Moon Cay (formerly Little San Salvador Island). The structure that looks like a ship is Captain Morgan's Bar, sponsored by the makers of Captain Morgan Rum. Best viewed large or original size.
I took this photo from the tender as it went through the channel on the island. The cannon is just a decoration. There had never been anything to defend on the island, which has no harbor. (Note: the location named above the geotag map, Cat Island, is more than 12 miles / 20 km to the east.)
Tried to compose an unusual composition.
The weather was so clear to show the half moon clearly , also i used a polarizer to emphasize the sky and moon contrast.

The Half Moon has been a Lockport, Manitoba attraction since opening in 1938. They moved to their current digs (shown above) in 1983. This is the view from the west side - most people only see the Henderson Hwy side.
Half Moon Cay is one of our favorite stops. It was nice to get this stop in addition to Princess Cays.

( I see the half-moon, Salwa. It is as if this woman is holding it on her lap, and her arms are placed over it. Her body, beneath it, echoes the arc it makes.
Perhaps she is prepared to hold the moon until it becomes whole, through all its phases.
Perhaps she is searching for her own wholeness. Our phases towards wholeness are not always so clear, so mathematically precise. It is more like a stumbling before the actual embrace. The moon may offer some strategies.) Carol Wiebe

Our very first full day was at one of our favorite cruise stops: Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas (or, Full Moon Cay for this particular day).
A walk around a rainy Sherborne in Dorset.
This was the Sunday that had heavy rain at the end of April 2012.
A few days after my visit The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the town as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee visits to towns and cities around the country.
Sherborne was the nearest town to our holiday cottage in Dorset.
Sherborne is an abbey town.
On Half Moon Street near the abbey.

Little San Salvador Island, also known as Half Moon Cay, is one of about 700 islands that make up the archipelago of The Bahamas. It is located roughly halfway between Eleuthera and Cat Island. From the 22nd November to the 22nd December marks the U.K disability history month, TowerProject in collaboration with CREATE, & CODA dance company have produced a dance performance piece in which young disabled people took part to give a beautiful performance that took place on the 17th December at the Half Moon theatre (www.halfmoon.org.uk/).

.....or sinkng? I took some shots last night as the moon appeared to be rising ,then came back an hour later and took these as it was sinking below the trees ,though further to the left on the horizon.can't figure it out.

It's named Half Moon cause this fish can make his tail half circle and because it looks so beautiful those types are named Half Moon. In this shot his tail is not completely open just half way.
