This map is at the entrance to Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, near the tender landing. Half Moon Cay has no population, except for employees who live somewhere on the island.
There was a Bahamas post office near the entrance, where you could buy postcards and Bahamas stamps to mail them. The "tram" shown on the map from the entrance to the Tropics Restaurant is actually a truck with benches in the body.
The map had not been updated to show Captain Morgan's Bar. It is in the form of an old saling ship, and is the most visible feature on the island. The bar had been opened almost 15 months before, in January 2011. I have shown the location in a note.
Half Moon Bay, CA. I really enjoyed this sunset but believe it or not the light actually got better than this later in the evening. I chose this shot though because it had the best balance of light and water motion in the foreground.

Our very first full day was at one of our favorite cruise stops: Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas (or, Full Moon Cay for this particular day).
Just one shot before I hit the sack from tonight's Half Moon Run gig.
Montréal-based indie rock four-piece Half Moon Run played a short in-store set at East London's Rough Trade in support of their debut studio album Dark Eyes.
The crowd, soaked from another torrential January downpour, were engaged throughout their energetic set which had frontman Devon Portielje to the left of the stage while Conner Molander took the right.
This was also the first outing for my shiny new Nikon D5300 for my first gig of 2014 ... hells yeah!
Night folks!

( I see the half-moon, Salwa. It is as if this woman is holding it on her lap, and her arms are placed over it. Her body, beneath it, echoes the arc it makes.
Perhaps she is prepared to hold the moon until it becomes whole, through all its phases.
Perhaps she is searching for her own wholeness. Our phases towards wholeness are not always so clear, so mathematically precise. It is more like a stumbling before the actual embrace. The moon may offer some strategies.) Carol Wiebe
