For Flickr Group Roulette & Celebrity Look-Alikes & threesixtyfive

To be honest with you, I don't give a F*kng flying Rat's arse if you don't think this shot resembles a celebrity look-alikes, to me it's all about the attitude and how I carry it in my shot, and if you happen to like the shot then awesome :) anyway, I should get bonus point for smoking (yes, I don't smoke), passion for food, culture and travel and have similar tattoo as the celebrity. That is all.

For FGR and Towel Day

www.flickr.com/groups/gameon/discuss/72157605204482249/

(Thank God I took this pic today or I would be purty close to missing a 365 shot,LOL)

I had such big FGR plans, none of which planned out...basically because I fell asleep...only to wake up to hosting a BBQ with friends:)).

So, here is my Towel Day shot, my ode to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I did actually carry this towel around with me all day:)). Here I am at Miss H's cheerleading ( otherwise known as a football game) , in the stands, taking a shot of my towel. And yes, I had to explain myself to the people around me:). It also came to an open house, I fell asleep on it by the lake, reading Pico Iyer, another traveller, and it weeded and watered my backyard with me. It sat on the counter with me while I made guacamole and I am sitting on it right now. I do feel so much more prepared with it:). Which is basically an illusion. Me being prepared that is.

Tried to come up with one favourite Douglas Adams quote...but there are so many:).

The one that made me giggle tonight is this one though...

"Why do you need to think? Can't we just sit and go budumbudumbudum with our lips for a bit?" - Mostly Harmless

Which is what I think I am going to go do:))

#WeAreOlympiacos

This is the moment the game turns — a split-second where instinct takes over and the body does what the mind barely has time to process.

In the foreground, a young player surges forward, his face smeared with grit, eyes steeled by the weight of pressure and pride. The ball is clenched tightly, not just in his hands but in his purpose. Behind him, an opponent lunges — determination in his stride, frustration starting to surface in his expression, knowing that letting go isn't an option.

The image is sharp, — every smudge of mud, every wrinkle in the jerseys, every strand of hair caught mid-sprint tells a story of intensity. The colors explode — the saturated greens of the pitch, the deep contrast of the uniforms, and the piercing sun casting angular shadows across the players’ skin.

The frame is tilted just enough to add tension, drawing your eye along the diagonal of motion. The lead player's bent knee creates a dynamic triangle, while the pursuing arm cuts across with cinematic clarity. Depth of field softens the background — subtly separating the drama from the rest of the world, as if nothing else matters but this very instant.

Penalty: Excessive and unnecessary use of man-crotch on the field.

...and with that, Flickr, I leave for a week's vacation to San Jose, Mexico. I have moderately confirmed reports that I'll have an internet connection, but photoshop is a no-go, so get ready for some for-serious SOOC's up in this bitch. Probably some Kyle-nudity as well.

Day 318 of 365

Another submission for Flickr Group Roulette. Today's group was Tee Shirts. I have so many, most of which have been seen at some point during the past 318 days. This shirt is a favorite of me because of the circumstances surrounding it.

I've been a Maiden fan from way back in my High School days. I've seen them in concert a dozen or so times, but I hadn't been to anything recently. Kathy knew how much I liked Iron Maiden despite my country music fandom. As a gift she got me tickets to go see their most recent tour with a friend of mine from back in the day. It was a total surprise for me. I didn't think I was going to be able to go when my friend called me about it. Kathy had made up something for us to do that day and then conspired behind my back with my friend to get the tickets and keep me in the dark.

She is such a wonderful lady. I'm a lucky man.

Alternate 1

Alternate 2

Snowball Fight To End All Snowball Fights: We came outside to find to our delight there was loads of snow everywhere. Pitched street battles ensued, culminating in us driving some semi-naked Aussies down the street and around the corner. Back to your own hemisphere with ye! As I was checking out the next morning there was a snowball on the counter at reception, just sitting there. I just had to mention this to your one. All the staff were Aussie including her and she had apparently never seen snow before! Jaysus. We all got the "hot hands" syndrome from not wearing gloves - your body pumps heat into your hands to keep them warm. In case the other pictures here didn't give the impression, it was bloody cold in Erdingerburgerking - minus numbers most days. Great end to the whole episode (Monday was boring.) Until the snowball fight I had reckoned Bletchley this time last year was better, but this totally made up for it, so I was one happy camper (although Colm still has my tent. Arthur "Two Tents" Jackson, or so he says.) I woke up during Tuesday night at home with some kind of wave of fear passing over me, and the DTs are still giving me trouble, but other than that it was a pretty typical hollyer. Oh, and I quit smoking! Yay, thanks Claire.

Today for Flickr Group Roulette the theme was Nightmares. As you can tell by the last two days in my 365, I have been worn out and non-motived to take any "real" pictures. So today, I figured I could spen a few minutes to put a picture together.

This is another clone shot, I'm having a little more fun with these each time I do one. Playing with my camera makes the clone shots way easier, I don't have to mask lines or anything.

As for nightmares, who would want zombies in there yard? After they eventually die from not figuring out how to use my front door to get in, surely they will starve, and then the process begins. I will have to get my lawn tractor out, pick up all the dead zombies, somehow bribe the garbage guy to take them, then finally find some way to get rid of the smell... what a nightmare. ; p

December 30, 2007: For Flickr Group Roulette. Today's group is 13 Things, so here are 13 random things about me:

1. I started baking about 10 years ago. Back then it was chocolate chip cookies and little else, but over the years I've slowly added new things.

2. I've played golf forever, but about 4 years ago I fell back in love with the game. The strange thing about my game is even though I play right handed, I putt left handed.

3. When I was young I wanted to be an artist. Or a cartoonist.

4. I am a huge Peanuts fan, especially Snoopy. Anybody who has seen my stream probably knows that already.

5. I love old movies from the 30s, 40s and 50s. My favorites are Humphrey Bogart movies.

6. I love music. All kinds of music.

7. I love dogs. My family always had Shetland Sheepdogs and they are my favorite breed.

8. I have smoked exactly 6 cigarettes in my entire lifetime.

9. When I was in 7th grade I read Watership Down by Richard Adams and it remains one of my favorite books. I usually re-read it every two or three years.

10. Every summer for the last 10 years my dad has rented a beach house and everybody comes and spends the week. I really enjoy spending the time with my nieces and nephews.

11. My first computer was a Commodore 64.

12. I attended the first game at Comerica Park in Detroit in 2000. It was about 32 degrees and we lasted about 4 innings before we left.

13. I'm really bummed that the Browns missed the playoffs this year after an incredible 10-6 season (I love the Seahawks but I also consider myself a Browns fan too).

Collect memories not things. Just a documentation of my life.

Thanks for all your likes and comments, I appreciate them all.

For 365 Days, FGR and TRP.

March 1st - I bought this for Flickr and Face the Fear.

I bought this eyeliner for Flickr because I used up a bunch of my good eyeliner drawing on my face in past 365 shots (too lazy to link to them) and I thought it would be better to keep a cheapy eyeliner around for future such moments when drawing on my face will be required... I know it will happen. I picked up this brown/black eyeliner at Ulta on clearance for $2!

My greatest fear is dying; I'm afraid to die, I'm afraid of my family and friends dying, I'm afraid of losing my cat Jerry like I just recently lost Abby. Death is not something I'm prepared for, and I don't know if I ever will be.

TRF: Busy day today meeting with a parent about tutoring a new student and then going to a study group for school. I took my picture before leaving the house but couldn't edit and upload until getting home 8 hours later. I am so blah right now.

26 September 2008: 'Attention whores'

Don't we just love the all-seeing, all-knowing CCTV and those beefy boucers approaching as soon as we produce a camera bigger than a pack of fags? Hope the guys wathing this had a good laugh. Taken on the terrace of the Hoover Building, Perivale, West London.

I don't give a hoot about looking crap, I really don't! Happy scary weekend, everyone!

For 365 Days, FGR and TOTW.

June 29th - June is for Jumping + Let's Drink on Flickr Monday! and Accessorize.

One of the trails I bike goes off-road and winds down underneath this cool bridge. I've been waiting all month to jump in this spot because I wanted to save it for something special. I ended up using it today because I slept in way late today and didn't get out on my bike until after noon, and it was already blistering hot and I wanted to jump in the shade. This wasn't even the halfway point on my route but I guzzled down a bunch of water when I stopped to shoot this.

Accessory: I always have to match, whether I'm going out or exercising or getting ready for bed. I specifically chose my green water bottle to match my green shorts for this shot.

TRF: I was so sweaty and hot and exhausted from the heat during my ride that I almost barfed when I got home. It was lovely.

For 365 Days, FGR, TOTW, and June is for Jumping.

June 18th - Twinkle Lights Aren't Just for the Holidays + ::: tiny words::: and Lighting.

OMG, this was such a fucking bitch to upload! For some reason, I'd upload the damn photo and it wouldn't appear on the edit page nor on my photostream. It didn't say that there was an error uploading specifically, but Flickr kept giving me the link to "try again." So I tried again, like, a million times. Closed my browser and tried again. Nothing. Went to Eric's computer and tried again a few million more times. Finally got the damn photo to show up after uploading public instead of private and clicking "open in Organizr"... but then there were a million uploads of this pic! Then I went through trying to delete them all and they weren't deleting. I was deleting them individually and deleting them through a batch, and I swear I was trying to delete the same files repeatedly. Then I went back to my computer and finally got everything deleted, then found the one version I uploaded as public and saw it was already getting comments before I'd even put a description on it (thanks *M-C1* & B Rosen!) so I started scrambling to get a description typed in. THEN I realized I forgot the damn tiny words for the FGR theme! So I went back in and added some retarded tiny words and replaced the picture since I already got comments and now I'm fuckin' ready for bed.

Flickr, you're ruining my life!

30 Songs in 30 Days - "The Magic Number" by De La Soul

Today is Flickr Group Roulette's 3rd birthday.

The concept, which was basically made out of necessity for 2 Flickr friends (the Trial & Grateful Clem) to get them through their 365 projects, is such a genius concept: each day, someone picks a public Flickr group (either intentionally or a random one), and then the rest of the "Fuggers" takes a picture that would fit in with what that group was about. It's not only a great way to get ideas when you have no clue what type of picture to take for your 365 but it's also such a fun thing to see how other people interpret the group du jour and what sort of picture was made.

I started playing in FGR a year after it started because, just like Trial & Clem, I was running out of ideas for my 1st 365 and I had seen other people's FGR pictures in the 365 groups I was in. Over 200 pictures later, I'm still a proud Fugger. =)

Activity in the group has really dropped off due to a bunch of the people who made FGR such a big hit have fallen off the map or moved on to other things, but FGR still chugs along with a new batch of Fuggers as well as people like me who refuse to go away. :P :)

So happy birthday, FGR! This is for you. :) The very first group that was invaded by FGR was "Fruits & Veggies", so in honor of that, I got a pear, apple and banana to go along with my 3-clones picture. :)

HBM!

Now, a few words about FGR's co-founder, Clem:

It doesn't matter what he thinks about me (and I have a pretty good idea of how he feels about me). I like him. I think he's a cool guy and very modest as well. He's willing to put himself out there in FGR to be roasted by other group members because he knows it's all for fun. He's really the main reason why FGR has lasted for 3 years now, even with fewer Fuggers taking part. Thanks, Clem, for being Clem and for letting us dingbats join in the FGR fun. ;)

For FGR:

1. RaiNBows CAn Be StRAiGHt

2. Dorks United

3. 365 Days

4. and, of course, a Happy Birthday to Maite!

Now, I know that I don't know her, but I'm a firm believer to always wish someone a happy birthday no matter what.

Also, per The Revamp Tramp's request:

1.) Why is sex so sexy?

It just is.

2.) What kind of animal are you?

I think I'm a dog.

3.) What's grosser than gross?

Feet, or boom boom.

4.) How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

"One, two, three..." *crunch*. Three. It takes three licks to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop. ;)

5.) What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Whole bread. :D

6.) Do you poop in the woods?

I have once, but I really, really had to go. :o

7.) What's your favorite sammich?

Turkey, ranch, and bacon. With extra red onions. Mmm.

8.) What's your worst habit?

Being so paranoid, and being obsessive over minor stuff.

9.) If a #2 Pencil is so popular then why is it still #2?

Because the #1 is so holy, there's no comparsion to it!

10.) What is your shoe size?

8 1/2 - 9 in mens, 10 - 10 1/2 in womens.

11.) When cheese gets it's picture taken, what does it say?

Humans! :D

12.) What kind of shape are you? (duh like a square or like a circle)

I am a trapezoid.

13.) What's yer sign baby?

Aries, babeh!

14.) What's yer job?

Phone bitch. (Call Centre)

15.) Big Bewbies or Small Bewbies?

Big Bewbies.

16.) Where are you from?

All over the North American continent.

17.) Do you hang the tp ova or unda?

Ova. My mother drilled that into my head. Plus, it's easier to get off the roll. I'm so obsessive that if it's unda, I fix it so that it's ova.

18.) What's your phobia?

Bees/Wasps, and falling. Not heights, just falling.

19.) What do you wash first in the shower?

My hair.

20.) Have you ever stuck a foreign object up your nose?

Who hasn't! Everyone has picked their nose once in their life.

21.) What do chickens think we taste like?

Cows, or fish.

I may not have pulled off the gayfabulous off, but I think I nailed the dork. :) Now, back to work!

FGR: Uncle Shelby's Kids

June is for Jumping

Step one: Prop camera on tripod on top of table...check

Step two: Position electric fan at head level to simulate wind...check

Step three: Have a mini-heart attack as tripod nearly falls off the table...double check!

Hate to post and run, but busy bee today...and this took a bit of editing, :D

Be back later to check out your streams! *muah*

alright, i'm back...whoa! what happened while i was away?!?!? :D!!

FGR wanted to see aviators or mustaches. Turns out, I have both.

Strobist info: 430EX @ 1/16 power, situated right and low, but pointed straight up. Fired by my cheap ebay radio remote. Resulting image is straight out of the camera.

For 365 Days, FGR, and TOTW.

March 6th - Pictures With Stories and Technique.

I've mentioned before that I've recently fallen in love with the meadow that lies behind my house and the creek that runs through it. It is my new backyard... my sanctuary. I haven't had a real backyard of my own for years, and even when I did it was nothing to brag about. When I was little I used to dream about having my own magic forest to explore. There would be trees to climb, grass to lay in, flowers to pick. There'd be hills to roll down, trails to run through, and the perfect tree stump to use as a picnic table. That place never existed for me when I was younger, but maybe it can exist for me here, now.

Technique: Picnik. Orton-ish affect. Adjusted bloom back and forth... don't know if I ended up increasing or decreasing it in the end. Crop. Added frame to round corners.

TRF: The trail down to the meadow and the bridge to the creek tends to be quite muddy - especially since we got a lot of rain this week - so I wear my old ratty tennis shoes when I go down there. Today, I brought along a pair of cute slip-ons to wear in my shot!

Happy FUTAB!

FGR wanted us to show our bad habits. Because I live a life devoted to purity and innocence, I had to fake one.

In this case, we went to a place called the Brick House for Jamie's office happy hour. To make my faked bad habit look authentic, I ordered what they call a "beer bong". It is 55oz of draft beer that you can pour from a tap at your table.

Unfortunately, I arrived just as their waitress went off shift and another came on. Can you imagine that I had to wait 30 minutes before I could order? At a bar?! I wanted Saint Arnold's Elissa IPA.

Then, 15 minutes later the waitress came and told me the beer was foamy and they were waiting for the head to settle. Because I like good head, I was OK with that.

15 minutes after that, she brought this. It was at least 50% foam. She promised a second some time later, because they couldn't fill my bong.

Oh yeah, she also brought hot glasses from the dishwasher. So I had warm, flat beer in a hot glass.

THAT's how far I will go for a frickin' FGR photo.

King for a Day!

I'm King for a Day!!! Flickr Group Roulette has deemed us all Kings and Queens for a day as today's group Crowning Glory wants us to put our crowns on and reign supreme.

Today, I pay tribute to the great masters of radio comedy, Fred Allen and Jack Benny. Their on air feud, which began in 1937 - [realplayer file], is one of the best feuds in broadcast history. Strictly an on air feud, the two friends poked fun at one another from one coast to another. One of the greatest events of the Benny-Allen Feud was on May 26, 1946...

...poking fun at quiz shows, namely the "Queen for a Day" program, Fred Allen held his own "King for a Day" - [realplayer file] quiz show. The contestant, Myron Proudfoot (Jack Benny in disguise) was crowned king for a day with a list of ridiculous rewards...one of which had him lose his pants on air in front of the NBC Studio Audience.

It was a great feud, and these shows are great to listen to.

Don't usually clone myself in the same week, but I needed to play both Fred Allen (left) and Jack Benny (right).

I'm king for a day!

For FGR and NERD.

I'm about to start a site redesign for a client. I've been trying to map out the new information architecture for a while and looking for a big whiteboard to do it on. Today I had a breakthrough: I can just use the mirror in my bathroom!

I can only imagine how happy this new proof of my nerdiness/geekery is making my roommate... as if we didn't already have enough trouble sharing a bathroom.

for FGR and t-shirt junkie.

i had a completly different shot planned for today, but after setting it all up, i realized a critical prop was in my car, which shannon was using. so rather than lose my light, and have to completly retool the shot, i decided to do the FGR for today. You'll get what i was gonna do today, tomorrow!

oh. PS. its my pick for FGR on wednesday! first one!

ALSO this goes in for T-Shirt junkie. i have a lot of shirts that featrue music or guitars. i dig that kinda thing. its threadless.

365 - 5.11.09

Nice to see the representation of shoot-'em-ups. Gradius V is for the Playstation 2 by Konami; R-Type II ran on the NES.

Flickr Group Roulette's pick was Don't Do That. I spent the day on an airport at an airshow looking for forbidding signs. They were frustratingly absent. :-(

Finally I found a NO PUSH sign on the back of an aircraft. I reached out and pushed it. Then, I noticed that the aircrewman was scowling at me. Oops. Maybe I shouldn't have pushed?

This is my three hundred thirty fifth self portrait for 365 Days.
