We just locked in a weekend camping with friends at Lost Lake next spring, and I can't wait. One of my favorite views of the mountain and an all around gorgeous area.

As Sarah is here, I look forward to soaking in this view of Mt. Hood's NW face, and of course making a few photographs.

I took this photo at the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky. No special filters were used to shoot through the glass. This is posted for a new friend who's name will remain unknown for now. Mysterious! Haha! Sorry I haven't been on Flickr much today. I ended up not doing my priority jobs here at home and went to the zoo. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

My new Flickr friend is Gail www.flickr.com/photos/shotzy/ from Canada and we met up for a photo shoot at the zoo and the aquarium. We had the best time ever!

The White Ducks are my favourites because they go more silly than the other ones. They go silly like Donald Duck.

As a side note - Will's new weapons are awesome! The M4 Tac, M4 SBR and NATO Rifle were used in this photo and all are brilliant! Also obtained the new L85, and it is just as cool! Go pick 'em up!

There are several of these Egyptian geese living in Valentine's Park, Ilford. I counted five on my walk through the park, and there may well be more. This one showed no fear - he was one of a pair which came up to me from a couple of hundred yards away while I was standing watching a woodpecker. They then seemed quite content just to stand next to me, and if I walked away from them they followed. Sadly for them I didn't have any food to give them! D800_35449.NEF. The engineer and conductor of the Iowa Interstate's CRPE coal train of 1-1-15 give friendly waves from the NS Wabash heritage unit as they bring the train under the wooden rainbow bridge of the county line Benton-Iowa road near Walford, IA.

24th November, 1542 Solway Moss, England, the Battle of Solway Moss took place between English and Scottish forces. The battle took place on Solway Moss which is near the River Esk on the English side of the Anglo-Scottish border.

Henry VIII had asked his nephew, James V of Scotland, to join him and brake away from the Church in Rome. Instead James V sided with Rome.

The Scots raised an army of 15,000–18,000 Scots and advanced into England. There had been nobody officially diagnosed commander of the Scots, though Lord Maxwell declared he would lead the attack in person.

Having advanced into England, they met the English force of 3,000 under Lord Wharton. The Scots were uncoordinated and the battle has been described as a rout by some historians. The Scots found themselves penned in, south of the Esk, on English territory between the river and the Moss (a peat bog). Intense fighting took place and the Scots surrendered along with 10 of their field guns to the English cavalry. Included in the English's capture were James V's banner and Oliver Sinclair, one of the Kings favourite courtiers.

Taken during the tour around Walter Peak Farm, on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, South Island, New Zealand

We were taken onboard the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw from Queenstown for a pleasant cruise on Lake Wakatipu, disembarking at Walter Peak Farm for an afternoon tea with scones and coffee and a leisurely tour around the farm.

Every once in a while you come across an individual bird who is so comfortable around humans that you can practically share a drink from your flask with them.... This young cormorant was like that in Poole Park this morning :) Go on, zoom in and count his feathers!!!

I took this image of a young girl feeding the pigeons at Granville Island in Vancouver, BC. I lucked in and managed to capture the image as she and one of the pigeons were looking at each other.
