There's not much left of the ghost town of Friend, Oregon. Just a schoolhouse, cemetery, a mysterious concrete building, and this old general store and post office. Named after George J. Friend, the town with a brief history is just another casualty of a railroad line being abandoned and, per usual, the town followed suit. It was the final stop of the Great Southern Railroad that ceased operation in 1936.
The Cape Cod Central / Mass Coastal Railroad welcomed a big crowd to their second annual Railfans Day on Saturday August 17, 2024. The big draw for photographers this year was the operation of their two serviceable (they also own a third) classic original New Haven FL9s coupled back to back just as they would have operated leading the Neptune or Day Cape Codder up from New York City back in the early 1960s.
New Haven 2011 and 2026 (blt. Sep. 1960 and Sep. 1957 as NH 2038 and 2007 respectively) are leading the second of three trips back to the festivities seen here at MP 76.4 on the MassDOT owned and Mass Coastal Railroad operated Cape Mainline just after passing under US Route 6 only a bit over two miles from their destination at Hyannis yard.

A very friendly Green Clean burning California machine smokes it way through Bixler, CA. The crew was very aware that their power was smoking through radio chatter. They rushed their way to Richmond, CA.
Jack is the friendliest goat at Belmont Audubon Habitat, and will follow me around for pats and brushing. I have to put the camera down sometimes and use both hands on him.
Friendly Beaches on Tasmania's east coast.
Fortunately the beaches are a part of the stellar Freycinet National Park. Courland Bay on the other side of distant Butlers Point is locked up by rich knobs that get well sh!tty when you walk on THEIR sand (which is a legal right for all Tasmanians). knobs.

It's the ranch winter and I share. At ground level is a ranch and some carnival rides.
Note: You're welcome to come take photos. It's on mainland so if you're shooting, set your visible distance very low because there are a lot of skyboxes in the sky by people who own parcels nearby.
I love how we can transform ourselves into any kind of avatar in SL. So cool.
As Second Life is a collaborative effort much like movies, here is the credit roll.

10 single animations, 7 couple animations (very PG)
The sits are meant for human avatars. Since the Flipsy avatar is a tiny, I had to do some hover corrections to bring myself down into the hands.

Ok... I promise this is the last squirrel photograph. End of my experiment with this squirrel - it is definitely not afraid of getting close. They are actually very fast and seem to communicate in some way with other squirrels. Apparently friendly, they like to be fed seeds, nuts, fruit. Enough of my friendly squirrel!

After the St Paul Union Depot Days, the Duluth Museum’s Soo 2500 appearance, it made a photo trip on the Dresser Sub. Great times were had by all whom attended

This charming gray cat is one of the stray/feral cats living around the Boca del Cufré breakwater in San José, Uruguay. The locals feed them and control the colony by neutering as many as possible.
