I’m walking to the park

A friendly possum that I met in the flagstaff gardens, Melbourne, Australia. He was amazingly friendly. He came down from the tree to take a vita-wheat cracker from me and then was quite happy so sit down and eat it while I was taking photos of him. If you ever get a chance, go and check out the trees on the latrobe-street side of the flagstaff gardens in Melbourne after dark.

I don't know, kinda looks a little creepy to me. Like someone's sending a messge.

More shots from my visit to my friend Mrs Warren's farm. Here is one of two farm dogs. This is the older one, who is reallty friendly (the younger one isn't to be trusted). I was taking shots of the pigs from a kneeling position when this dog snuggled up alongside me for a fuss, making me jump!

The crew of once a week UPRR local to Ringwood posing before heading out via crew vehicle cab to another job. The engineer (L) gave a 5-6 year old kid watching as they laid up in Crystal Lake, IL a BLAST of the horn before they left the engine for their next assignment. . The child seemed happy!! So did the photographer!! This train job runs from Crystal Lake, to Ringwood to service a few industries still on the line, including Dow Chemical at the end of the line in Ringwood

Some of the people that I remember well, oddly enough, are people I've seen and spoken to only once... or twice. Friendly strangers here and there pop out from anywhere.

The wonders of a computer. I have been in contact with a wonderful lady in Sacramento, California who saw a photo of what was once her mother's home in Friendly, West Virginia that I shot a while ago. In turn, she sent me a photo of the same house taken in 1901. The house was originally built in 1895 for Alfred T. Smith, her grandfather. Her mother is the youngest, shown in the first photo, holding a doll (that she still has). Even looking at the house in ruin, you can tell that it was a magnificent place. I had no 'real' idea until I saw the photo that she sent.

I had posted several photos of the old home since my first visit in 2009. I am extremely grateful to Becky Cole who provided me with the 1901 photo and the background of her family and owned this before the Dr. Eddy family took possession. The photo on the right was taken this past March.

Just processed in Adobe Camera Raw. No editing alterations. This fellow stood next to me through our run up this fjord. He had a Sony full frame camera and a Sony 70-200 lens. I enjoyed a conversation about photography as we both aimed for nice pics. He tended to shoot upward at the scenes while I tried to stay level most of the time (as shown here).

Not really a bokeh test as I was taking this shot more for the overall composition.

My favorite menu item at Friendly's, Crispy Chicken Salad. Great with extra honey mustard dressing.
