The Sun Between the Clouds of Smoke
Tragedy in Brasilia, since yesterday the Brasilia National Park has been on fire.
A place where I always go to take pictures.
The situation is critical, the FIRES are CRIMINAL.

20190506_5691_7D2-100 Earth and Fire (and a little air)
With three hours before this week's Macro Mondays opens, I thought I had better work out a photo to take. The theme this week is the four elements and this has three - earth, fire and air (a little air is pushing the flame to the left and making it a little blurred). I tried to thoroughly wet the soil to add the "water" content but the soil became a mess and I had to start again.
From top to bottom this is about 55-60mm so well within the Macro Monday limit.
Earth, Water, Air, and Fire are all represented here.
If you comment or like my picture, thank you from the bottom of my heart. They mean a lot to me.

Theme 52 is a project started by me and 3 friends. Every sunday at 9pm we post a picture to represent the theme of the week, which is randomly picked from Isabell's hat.
You find the other girls here Annika and Isabell & Johanna. and to check out picures from previous weeks visit our flickr group.
Four Elements
Winds take me with you
to the heights of heavenly ether
Therein I taste drops
a primordial ground
of reasons
Transcendental love for
knowledge
On paths that flow through
worlds
Twinkle little wings,
to unlock the brazen locks
Earth take me in
Culture begins with you
In the deep root kingdom
the earth mother whispers:
"To find is to lose."
Fire burn me
a little fist of earth
still so wet
Glowing in the magma core
and again to ether
vaporised

Water droplet shot with a moving 'point' light source against a CD background. Aside from the CD, light source was a phone torch, tripod mounted with remote shutter and 48mm extension ring on lens.
Shot for the Macro Monday challenge, 'Four Elements' (ie earth, air, fire and water). Had to be at least one so I chose water. Depending on whether you believe that in antiquity they saw air as different to light, you could argue that the light is also a second element in the shot.

The #MacroMondays #FourElements theme
Two, arguably three, elements are depicted here. Water, air and fire. Oh, OK, temperature.
This is a photo of the upper part of a Galilean thermometer. Five vessels like those shown are contained in a sealed tube of water, rising and falling as the density of the water varies with temperature. The link describes the physics.

The photo was taken backlit by a white light source and focus stacked. A 12mm extension tube was used.
HMM all
We've had lots of rain but yesterday was nice. This little droplet was nestled in the Bleeding Heart (Lamprocapnos) that has pushed his way up this spring.
HMM.
I am a Gemini and my element is Air, so that is what I wanted to use. The problem is, of course, you can't see air, but you can see its effect with wind. So, this is air moving a small flower.
Like all four elements, water is essential to life but sometimes there can be a little too much and here the flower is protecting the vital parts from the rain...
Thank you for looking and for your encouragement.
Macro Mondays Week 18: The Four Elements
Water... One of the four elements that give life. Water, Earth, Air, and Fire.
A good friend commented, "This actually has all four. Earth is the leaf. Air is there. Water in the droplets. Fire in the reflection of light."
I'll buy that!
The six-point brewers star you can see on the bottleneck is a medieval alchemist representation of the union of the four elements, the upper triangle meaning fire and air, the lower water and earth.
You can find this old symbol often on south German brewhouses, because the elements, in an alchemical way of thinking, are brought together here (brewing water, fire for cooking, air = yeast, earth = barley) in order to create the most wonderful beverage that exists in the universe: beer.
