"I Fold Under Pressure", or, how an origamist does her taxes. The message only becomes visible in certain lighting, reflecting the inconsistency of my annual tax rate.
This was folded from a standard, 8.5" x 11" size sheet of printer paper. It's based on an 80 x 80 grid. The final work measures 6.5" x 5.4". No cutting, gluing, or the like was involved in the folding process.

This old vase/planter has been laying out in the yard for about 5 yrs now....it had a pecan tree in it that was brought from the old house, but by the time I got around to transplanting it, the roots had grown so much that I couldn't get it out of the vase without breaking it!!
The tree is now dead, and I'm waiting for it to decompose enough to free the vase!!!!

Here it is another night shot, long exposure, portraying the righteously world famous Swiss side of the Matterhorn mirroring in the calm waters of lake Stellisee (2.537 m).
I have already posted a few shots taken during the very same night.
Although these may look similar, each shot is a new scenario in itself, thanks to the movement of the clouds, which are stretched due to their movements during the exposure.
In this case I liked how they formed a sort of eye, within which lies the Matterhorn.
Actually, you can never exactly predict how the clouds will look like at the end of a long exposure, and this is certainly one of the most fascinating aspects of this photographic technique.

i) E’ stato utilizzato il Faretto Manfrotto ML240 regolato ad 1/3 della potenza (luce 1900°Kelvin) posizionato sopra la scena (leggermente a sinistra) ed all’altezza delle ali della farfalla in modo da correggere le lievi ombre azzurre e abbassare la temperatura cromatica della scena per vivacizzare i colori rosso/arancio dei fiori e delle striature giallo ocra delle ali delle farfalle. Tutto il lavoro è stato effettuato verso le ore 9,30 del mattino (luce laterale proveniente da destra diretta del sole);
l) Impostazione Asa 100/Asa;
m) Conversione del File Raw in Tiff con Nikon Capture NX 2;
n) Prima Post-Produzione Corel Photo-Paint X5 e Nikon Capture NX 2;

Scotrail Inter7City set formed of 43143 & 43179 slow for the crossing into the bi-directional Up & Down platform at Kingussie on 4th July 2025 with 1T88 1450 Inverness to Glasgow Queen Street. When I was here last time I didn't get a shot of what, from a distance appears to be a bracketed gantry on the north side of the station - only when close did I see it was two separate signals!
Not sure how long the 25 short HST sets have to go in Scotland - rumour is they'll be phased out over the next year or two, no doubt replaced by some inferior riding Japanese or Spanish tat!
Rainbows form when the sun shines through raindrops, reflecting off the back of each drop like a lens and splitting the light into its different coloured wavelengths. Double rainbows form when this happens twice in each drop. Notice how the colours are reversed in order in the second rainbow. Also notice the kayakers looking for the pot of gold? Botany Bay
Boli Khela or Bali Khela is a traditional form of wrestling in Bangladesh, particularly popular in the Chittagong area considered as a national game of the district. It is a form of combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. It is one of the oldest traditions of the Chittagong. The sporting event, held in the first month of the Bengali year date of 7th, always takes place at Madarsha Union as Mokkaro boli khela & same month date of 12th, always takes place at Laldighi Maidan as Jabbarer Boli khela.
Boli Khela was introduced in the last 19th century by Kader Boxo. He was a landlord of Satkania Upazila under Madarsha Union in Chittagong district. He lived there. Every year Bengali first month, he collected dues from his renter. Then he arranged a boli khela (wrestling) to give interest there. It was started in 1879. After his death, it is start 7th boishakh, first month of Bengali year & nowadays it is called "Mokkaro Boli Khela". On other hand, 20th century merchant, Abdul Jabbar Saodagor from Chittagong, arrange a boli khela. His desire was to cultivate a sport that would prepare the youth to fight against British rule which is a self-defense without weapons. It was started in 1907. Broad appeal for the sport began at the end of the First World War but subsided at the end of the Second World War.

জব্বারের বলীখেলা এক বিশেষ ধরনের কুস্তি খেলা, যা চট্টগ্রামের লালদিঘী ময়দানে প্রতিবছরের ১২ই বৈশাখে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এই খেলায় অংশগ্রহণকারীদেরকে বলা হয় বলী। চট্টগ্রামের আঞ্চলিক ভাষায় কুস্তি বলীখেলা নামে পরিচিত। ১৯০৯ সালে চট্টগ্রামের বদরপাতি এলাকার ধনাঢ্য ব্যবসায়ী আবদুল জব্বার সওদাগর এই প্রতিযোগিতার সূচনা করেন। তার মৃত্যুর পর এই প্রতিযোগিতা জব্বারের বলী খেলা নামে পরিচিতি লাভ করে।

Morella es un municipio español situado en el norte de la provincia de Castellón.
Desde enero de 2013 Morella forma parte de la red Los pueblos más bonitos de España.
El término municipal es limítrofe con la provincia de Teruel, con accesos a través de los puertos de montaña de Torre Miró (1259 m) y Querol (1020 m).
Morella, caracterizada por la industria textil, ha sido y es centro comercial de su comarca, por lo que cabe decir que predomina en su economía el sector servicios, impulsado en la actualidad por el turismo, tanto interior como exterior. Mientras que la agricultura y la ganadería (porcina y avícola) y la recolección y comercialización de la trufa negra complementan su actividad económica.
Es tradicional la existencia de un sector de curado de embutidos, jamones y de quesos, tanto de cabra como de oveja, típicos de la comarca.
Sus murallas aún conservan la majestuosidad de antaño, cuando por aquella fortaleza pasaron íberos, romanos, cristianos y árabes.
El acceso al corazón de Morella lo haremos por una de sus siete puertas más emblemáticas: la custodiada por las torres de Sant Miquel. Dos enormes pilares octogonales del siglo XV desde donde se puede subir hasta la parte superior y recorrer la muralla por el conocido como paseo de Ronda.
El casco antiguo, donde está el barrio de la judería, las casas solariegas y los palacios, se ha ido creando a los pies del imponente castillo, visible desde cualquier parte de Morella. Esta enorme fortaleza está considerada como una de las más importantes del Mediterráneo. Para acceder a ella podemos cruzar el convento de Sant Francesc y continuar la subida hasta el punto más alto: la plaza de Armas.
