The sidewalk in Vernon was adorned with beautiful flowers.

newburyport, ma. my sister nikki just opened her very own ice cream shop ("the off center cafe")here in this incredibly charming town about 45 miles north of boston. if you're in town, stop and say hi...

The beach this weekend was awesome...this shot was taken in the little town of Gulfport Beach. This restaurant located in this old building was such a head turner for me. Old cement building, old wooden shutters, quaint flower box and that awesome old distorted window showcasing the reflected beauty of the day. Such an enjoyable sight. Enjoy!

A colourful flower box decorates the bridge leading to the Begijnhof, next to the Sashuis in Brugge.

This pedestrian-only street is somewhere in Fuengirola on the southern coast of Spain. A colourful sun trap by the looks of it.

I took this and several images of similar streets during a holiday there in the early 2000s but didn't take any notes!

Fuengirola was known in ancient times as Suel and then Suhayl. It is a large town and municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain.

It is a major tourist resort, with more than 8 km of beaches and a mediaeval Moorish fortress. In common with much of this coast, it has been the subject of considerable urban development. (Sadly drowned in timeshare complexes, hotels, and villas, with all the tat that low-budget northern European holidaymakers seem to want is how I would describe much of it).

The area has a sub-tropical Mediterranean climate, with annual average temperatures of 18°C and average summer temperatures of over 30°C. It was exactly the sort of holiday I don't like, hence the lack of memory of any details. I hardly partook of the available alcohol - honest!

As a result of the above, the map location is entirely arbitrary. Scanned from a negative.

In a dismal little flower box these two nearly identical beauties are blooming. - Cotyledon orbiculata, commonly known as pig's ear or round-leafed navel-wort, is a South African succulent plant belonging to the genus Cotyledon.

Balancing act?

Yes - I am very much looking forward to turning the page on my calendar. It has been a very long cold winter.

Although the box is not directly above the musician, I find the juxtaposition fun.

As I get on in life I realise that this is the size of garden I'd be happy to tend.....

Loves to sleep in flower boxes

I have two flower boxes on my window sill, where I planted some bulbs the other day. So far, the flowers haven't come out, but these two tiny mushrooms did - they are only about an inch tall :-)
