went out strolling with nick and cate yesterday, after our ritual burgers and beers... SUCH a lovely afternoon
We started building our home in 2002. It took us four years to finish it. While the house was being built, I was anxious to get my garden started. I decided to go ahead and trust my instincts. I followed the natural layout of the land and instinctively felt and saw some patterns. I picked up all these brick stumps from my parents' garden. They were broken brick pillars that were destroyed when Mt. Pinatubo erupted. I used them as a flowerbox and planted yellowbells. The metal trellis is a new addition. I had them installed in April of this year so that the yellowbells would have something to cling to.

Dissonance: A tension or clash resulting from the combination of two disharmonious or unsuitable elements.
I was struck by the disharmony between the beautiful flower boxes, the shutters, the old-style lamp post and the graffiti on the roof.
I should clarify that while I admire and appreciate a good wall mural / urban art (and, recognizing that “good” is a subjective term) - this isn’t that! 😊
Taken in Montmartre, Paris.
A simple view of a window with green shutters set against a red wall, with flowers adding a small touch of life. A quiet moment from an ordinary street.
Got these tulips from some nice people today and they are still wraped in plastic.
Yellow and purple, just a perfect colour-combo for Easter so say !
This porch overlooks Lake Michigan in Bay View, Michigan. I enjoy strolling Bay View during the summer months.
The Flowers were everywhere and the colorful houses are all different
