So this is the falcon who thought it would be a great idea to breed in my flower-box infront of the window of my sleeping room.

In fact there are two birds, male and female, who care about my flowers now.

She laid four eggs within the last ten days. Wonder if there are more to come :D

Will keep you updated!

Dwarf geum coccineum 'Koi' now growing in a flowerbox on our lower deck.

The name 'Koi' really says it all! The many bright orange flowers of 'Koi' stand out over a compact mound of glossy green foliage. 'Koi's long blooming period is eye-catching at retail, promoting impulse sales and has high consumer satisfaction year-after-year in perennial flower beds, borders and mixed containers.

I took this image of the jumping spider on my balcony.

For the lightning I used a self-made flash diffusor on top of my camera and the 100mm macro lens with a 68mm extension tube.

Picturesque chalet window with red flowers in flower box in Zermatt, Switzerland, during summertime

The beautifully preserved medieval city of Bacharach lies in the heart of the Middle Rhine region. Full of cobblestoned streets and historic timber-framed houses, there is no shortage of good and atmospheric restaurants serving up regional fare and wine from the steep vineyards surrounding the town. Tip: Stop at the timber-framed restaurant Altes Haus built in 1368, a local landmark of Bacharach and one of its oldest buildings.

A photo from a garden store...I wound up bringing the peach-colored one home with me. I planted it in the flowerbox along the railing outside my front door, and it is thriving...not one squirrel has messed with it (so far)... :-)

Flowers from gardens close to home all the way to Okuma Beach

Jim Is always trying to come up with ways to keep the critters out of the flowers, vegetables, and young trees planted. This flower box is a favorite of the chipmunks, and typically have everything dug up or eaten before anything ever flowers.

i just wonder what it is like to sit inside that window

to tend to those flowers

to see the famous sights of parliament and big ben from inside your flat or office

to get so used to that that it loses its luster

is that even possible?

time to slow down and look around and enjoy all that has become familiar...
