This bench was decorated by the 6th grade class at EverGreen Academy, a local private school. I like the sentiment painted on it. It's sitting in front of a toy store.
The 2019 public art project entries were unveiled last Saturday. They are benches with attached flower boxes built by the Veterans Outreach group and decorated by local artists. The theme is "Racine's Past, Present and Future".
I was nowhere near my own yard/garden this week. This view of a flower box on a bridge over a canal in Strasbourg, France, will have to suffice!

Bruges has to be the quaintest little town out there :)
The inner city is a wanderer's dream... with every street... every public space "just like what I thought Europe would be like." (Pug, 2006). Funny thing... it seemed I couldn't capture just how pretty things were... but Pug sure did here.
If you go a little out of the city... things are still just as quaint... though a little more run down. This to me sums up Bruges... a city with quaint/colour-washed houses, window boxes full of flowers, and lots of bicycles.
This restaurant overlooks the
Sylvan Glen Golf Course...
Lunch and dinner are also served outside.

Red tulips taken yesterday, the last of april.
I have now my computer up and running again after the diskcrash (three-four weeks
ago) and hopefully I will get more time to make comments on your photos from now on.
Still remains a lot of important programs to download to the puter but I will take it step by step.
Wish you all a great holiday (well at least in Sweden we have holidays the first of may) and be carefull out there!

Every time we travel to Rome, I try to visit my favorite window in the ancient Trastevere section of the city. I love the simplicity of the decor and the wonderfully textured wall!
In Porto’s old town, this deep red corner building embodies the charm of everyday Portuguese architecture. With its bold façade accented by granite trim, slim vertical windows, and small flower boxes, it captures the warmth and intimacy of a lived-in city. The ground floor is home to a traditional restaurant, its signage and menus welcoming both locals and travelers to pause for a meal. The corner location, framed by cobblestone streets and mosaic sidewalks, makes it a natural gathering point within the bustling urban fabric.
What stands out is the contrast between tradition and modernity. Above the tiled roofs and granite framing, contemporary metal cladding rises in the background, reminding us of Porto’s evolving skyline and its willingness to weave past and present together. Pedestrians, strolling casually in summer attire, bring life and scale to the scene, reflecting Porto’s identity as both a UNESCO World Heritage city and a vibrant modern hub.

I took this image of the fly on my balcony.
For the lightning I used a self-made flash diffusor on top of my camera and the 100mm macro lens with a 68mm extension tube.
