There is a nice story to this: I shot it the night we were hanging my last years exhibition of flowers in a dedicated teahouse here in Bonn. There was a pause and I saw the wonderful light on this flower that was planted in a flowerbox outside the window. The original is a series of diving into her.
Now this flowershot will serve as a greetingcard for a doctor specialized in "natural healing methods" whatever that may mean.
Frankly, I do not know anything about flowers or biology I just love them as little colorfol worlds of theit own and I love to watch them and phoptograph them.
This was shot from the main entrance to the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium in St.Johnsbury VT. One can see that the fourth flowerbox support from the left is missing! Maybe it's on display inside the museum.

This is the last photo from our trip to the Charleston area, at least for now.
We saw this window, with its windowbox, while walking in the old part of Charleston, near the Battery and Rainbow Row. There are a lot of splendid details, of all sorts, in the buildings and plants in this area.

First shot of 2011 of a flower in my garden. Seems unbelievable that a little while ago the plant was covered in snow,the whole thing looks so fresh now.
While watering the flowers today we found this bunny hiding under some leaves. It's about 4" long. Got six shots on it and then it ran away. Not many things cuter than a baby rabbit.

Not sure if this is a Cosmos or a Zinnia...growing in a flowerbox on the lower deck. OK, the vote's in - it's a Cosmos. Oh, and Happy July!
Babenhausen went all out for their Old City Festival: we loved everything and had a great time

Album – Babenhausen, Hesse, Germany – 2018SEP07-08:
Mother went this time last year to Babenhausen to visit the Blachniks, whom our family has known 58 years, and we were planning for her to go over again stand-by on the flight I was working this weekend. It began to fill and I was unable to swap trips: if my scheduled flight had no empty passenger seats, I could not carry my mother over the ocean on that day, so Joe agreed to accompany her the day before and I would work the next day to Frankfurt, then ride the crew bus to Mainz, take the train to Babenhausen, visit Mother and the Blachniks, and pick Joe up. He and I would take the train to Mainz, and he would ride back with me while I worked the flight to Charlotte.
And we did! So Mother is in Babenhausen, Joe & I in Charlotte. Next we need her return trip back to the States.
As my vacation is starting, I plan to fly back stand-by, see the Blachniks, Mother, and maybe her host family in Babenhausen a few days while I stay at a hotel, then take Mother by train to Mainz she wants to see, and fly stand-by again; after landing in Charlotte she will overnight with her sister Marie Robinson in Gastonia, to break up the drive back to her home in Brevard.
Hope you enjoy this 37% of our 184 Babenhausen captures!

Had been watching the weather forecast about week ago (due the potential Weather event). In the last couple days, the snow totals they were forecasting kept going up an inch each day.
It was Sunday and I had checked the forecast and they were expecting 6 inches of snow (That kind of snowfall in one weather event is an absolute rarity here). It started flurrying just before 8pm. And accumulated overnight.
This morning it started to pick up in intensity right around 8am. Around 10am I went outside and swept our sidewalk and driveway with a broom. And also cleared off the car.
Sometime around 2pm my wife took the tape measure outside and measured almost 6 inches of snow. We still have several hours left of snowfall before it ends. We could easily end up with 8 or more inches!

Rusty [ taken last summer]. ...he was taking a break from patroling the yard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may or may not have noticed that I haven't been on Flickr as much as usual.......and I apologize for that but have GREAT news~ I caught the LAST kitten [#5] this morning.
Why are the last ones the hardest to catch? It didn't help that:
1. It was pouring rain non-stop while trapping.......cat's HATE rain.
2. The park maintenance people showed up two days in a row to work on the grounds right next to the caretaker's house. Loud equipment and strangers kept the kitten out of sight.
3. The caretaker's boys played in the backyard today when I was trying to trap.
4. The caretaker put their two chihuahua's out in the backyard while I was trapping....
5. Despite feeding the three adults while there [ I spayed/ neutered them last October] they kept going in my traps. I must have gone thru thirty cans of fancy feast & six large cans of tuna keeping them fed ...[ no kidding].
I also saw an orange TOM this morning in the same yard. I should trap him....but am totally exhausted....so he will have to wait as I'm taking a BREAK--no more TNR for awhile..
** Today's kitten is a little tuxedo boy. He has an injured eye.....my vet assures me he will be ok.
** Father cat was released this morning.
** Mother cat will be spayed next week.
** All the kittens are going to private homes/ foster and will eventually be adopted ~ woo hoo.
I am disappointed to learn that "picnik" is shutting down. I used their site a lot .....mostly for making collages. sigh.
