These are some polished rocks I got from a rock shop in Montana last September. I had macrophotography in mind when I got them. It's 'fill the bag' for the same price so I picked the smaller ones for more variety.

Macro photo of a dandelion blowball, taken with an Olympus Tough TG-6 compact camera. This camera offers superb macro capabilities. For this shot I used the microscopic mode, hand held.
The common dandelion is well known for its yellow flower heads that turn into round balls of many silver-tufted fruits that disperse in the wind. These balls are usually called "clocks" in both British and American English. The name "blowball" is also used.
The common dandelion grows in temperate regions of the world in lawns, and on roadsides, disturbed banks, shores of waterways, and other areas with moist soils. The common dandelion is most often considered a weed, especially in lawns and along roadsides, but the leaves, flowers, and roots are sometimes used in herbal medicine or as food.

I prefer red bell peppers in my salad because... they are sweeter and have 11 times more beta-carotene, twice as much vitamin C and 10 times more vitamin A than green peppers.

Couldn't resist this title. As a peahen strolled by Mr. Peacock had to strut his stuff for her by shaking his feathers. This courtship dance is called "train-rattling" and the feathers shake about 25 times per second. Very entertaining to watch indeed. For a peek at the "flip side" check out: flic.kr/p/2mifJJe

I love the color of this beautiful carnation and as it expanded to white further from the center. HMM, everyone ! !
Finishing this four-image pelican series with this aerial shot of these two tandem flyers.
On the ground, these huge American White Pelicans waddle around somewhat awkwardly. But when in the air, few birds soar as gracefully and beautifully as they do. Smooth and seemingly effortless, they use the air currents for soaring, minimizing a lot of wing flapping.
Also, when descending to land from high altitudes, they make multiple, circular descents, banking in tandem and maintaining their positions next to each other... If you've ever experience this, it is a wonder to behold, and it leaves you full of joy and with your jaw open with amazement. Truly one of the wonders of nature...
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.

(7DWF Crazy Tuesday Theme: Fill The Frame)
It was last winter, not much to take photos of outside. I decided to buy some flowers i found at the supermarket. It was quite challenging getting the nikkor 50mm to focus very close to the subject so i had to crop the photo a lot to get in this close.
Thanks for 10.k views
Taking various angles of the peony that’s nearly opened and found this ant in the middle of the frame, don’t blame it trying to hide from the heat of the day of honest !
