Macro Mondays theme Fill the Frame
I don't know why but I found this theme really difficult. The framing and getting close enough was tough, luckily I didn't have to crop anything out (and I forgot to measure but I'm pretty sure this fits well within the group’s restrictions).
Happy Macro Monday! 😊
Working on seeing things in a different way. Sometimes we have to change the angle at which we view things. Other times, adding light will work. This time I did both. I got down low then I bounced light behind the leaves using a gold reflector and I just love the way it changed it from being flat and boring. What are your favorite ways to change your view?
All this hot weather is making me hungry for an ice cream!
My photo for the theme this week of 'fill the frame'.
Happy Macro Monday! :-)
Very busy bees today - collecting nectar here.
You can see cells full but not capped, so they're not ready yet. Adjacent cells have their wax lid, so full of honey. HMM so it was this or the spinny thing flic.kr/p/TWEap4

Susan bought this baby Rex Begonia whose colorful leaves pop with gusto. We've been having a heat wave so we'll see if we can keep this little guy alive. Submittal for the Jun 1, 2020 Macro Monday's theme of "Fill the Frame."

Believe - such a loaded word for me. I like the positivity of it but I prefer to question than just believe.
How does this word resonate with you? What do you think of when you see it?
It's been a while since I played around with a photo in Topaz Studio 2. This patch of Argentina anserina or "Silverweed" does its best to invade our garden, we do our best to keep it in the field. Original photo slid quite a lot for Slider Sunday (best viewed large) HSS!
Thanks again for your support, prayers & get well messages for Martin. He's just finished a 5 day intense course of radiotherapy which has hopefully shrunk the larger of 2 lung tumours & the secondary spinal tumour. Next is an appointment with the Medical Oncologsist to get recent CT scan/genone sequencing results & figure out a schedule of chemotherapy. A long road of treatment ahead I'm sure but we are feeling positive & he is well in himself.
Photo 26/10, my 100 x photos this year will be of foliage: so woodland scenes, individual trees, wild/garden plants and fallen leaves 🍁🌿🍀🌳
Macro photo of a dandelion blowball, taken with an Olympus Tough TG-6 compact camera. This camera offers superb macro capabilities. For this shot I used the microscopic mode, hand held.
The common dandelion is well known for its yellow flower heads that turn into round balls of many silver-tufted fruits that disperse in the wind. These balls are usually called "clocks" in both British and American English. The name "blowball" is also used.
The common dandelion grows in temperate regions of the world in lawns, and on roadsides, disturbed banks, shores of waterways, and other areas with moist soils. The common dandelion is most often considered a weed, especially in lawns and along roadsides, but the leaves, flowers, and roots are sometimes used in herbal medicine or as food.
I prefer red bell peppers in my salad because... they are sweeter and have 11 times more beta-carotene, twice as much vitamin C and 10 times more vitamin A than green peppers.
