Mitch & Marguerite's wedding

Outstanding bacon-wrapped filet at Pittypat's Porch.

I had read about the "Stone Beef" at Copenhagen's Det Lille Apotek - one of its oldest restaurants. On my last night, I had some krones left and decided I just had to try this delicacy. You're served this slab of gorgeous filet mignon RAW, on this scalding, and I do mean really scalding, cast iron slab. You cut it up and essentially cook it yourself. It was truly wonderful and a really fantastic and unique food experience that I will probably never be lucky enough to have again.

Filet and mixed grilled veggies. Yum. Plus, garlic toast on the side.

Carnevino Italian Steakhouse by Mario Batali & Joe Bastianich, at the Palazzo.

Tender beef grilled to perfection, served on a bed of fresh spinach and topped with mushroom ragout, caramelized shallots, accented with a red wine reduction and Mascarpone cheese beignets.

Savory Steak and Mushrooms

Received as a gift, I normally wouldn't cook this.

Double Blue Filet, filet mignon served on a blue cheese potato puree and topped with a fresh blueberry sauce and served with fresh asparagus and fresh watercress garnish.

Enjoy this at Blake's Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Another great recipe from Steven Raichlen. This one was just awesome..... Do think it can belong in the better restaurant. We really liked the marinade of the Filet Mignon and the marmalade! Hmmm,.. definitely one for my book. ;-)

Went to the Hibachi with a few friends for dinner on a friday night, Wanted to capture the onion volcano that they make but they didn't come out good.

Ordered from Grand Western Steaks. This is Australian raised Wagyu, so some snobs might not consider it to be "real" Wagyu. In any event...

The next day we tried some of the Filet Mignon. First, a period of dry-brining. This is the "before" shot and the "after" will be next.
