The main course from my birthday dinner for one I made last week. I reverse seared the Filet Mignon and it came out perfect. It was also my first attempt at Potato Pave and that was a treat as well (not to mention looking cool for the picture).
Right next to the Museum Folkwang is a retirement home that houses a highly recommended restaurant that also welcomes "outside guests."
Filet Mignon with croquettes
Filet mignon en croûte et fromage à raclette
- 1 pâte feuilletée
- 8 tranches de bacon
- 1 filet mignon de porc
- 8 tranches de fromage à raclette
- sel, poivre
Préparation :
1 - Préchauffez le four th.7 (210°C).
2 - Déroulez la pâte feuilletée sur une tourtière, déposez-y 4 tranches de bacon les unes à coté des autres.
3 - Déposez dessus le filet mignon, salez et poivrez.
4 - Recouvrez-le des 4 autres tranches de bacon, entourez le filet des 8 tranches de raclette, recouvrez le tout avec la pâte en formant une bûche.
5 - Faites une cheminée et enfournez pendant 45 min.

Filet Mignon with a Side of Three Sauces: Green Peppercorn, Curry and Truffle. Served with Sauteed Green Beans and Bleu Boheme French Fries at Bleu Boheme in San Diego.
Oh my stars... this was a knockout dish! The recipe called for madeira wine, but I prefer marsala, and had it on hand already. Next time, I would slice the mushrooms thicker -- but that's the only thing I'd change. This recipe was a steak lover's dream come true.

Filet mignon - Sauce forestière et sa garniture
Visiting my friends. Meat was delicious, so I wanted to pay tribute to this spontaneous party and our drawing session afterwards. I used Winsor and Newton small watercolor only(drawn in). Was a little too weird not to have regular red, here is Alizarin crimson, but I mixed it a little with yellow and it gave me red. This kit has less colors than my Bijoi box.
A tender 9 oz Filet Mignon, grilled and topped with Shrimp Louisina - Juicy Gulf Shrimp Sautéed in a zesty Creole Butter Sauce.
To Celebrate our 30th Anniversary we opted for the Romance Package which included this delicious entree ...part of a three course dinner ….Needless to say I came home about 7 lbs heavier :-)
