FedEx 757 N926FD has quite the history in US Aviaition. This Boeing narrow-body was originally delivered to Republic Airlines in December 1985. It also flew for Northwest Airlines, America West Airlines and US Airways. Here the jet has arrived to Memphis after a flight from Phoenix.

The 75th 757 for FedEx is N970FD. The ex-Flying Colours/Thoms Cook jet, registered G-FCLC, is seen on the Memphis ramp in 2013.

FedEx MD10 N360FE (ex-United DC10 N1843U) taxis east on Victor at Memphis International. Taxiing on the FedEx ramp is A300 N730FD (originally delivered to Garuda Indonesia in 1992. Aircraft 360 was retired and stored at Victorville, California (VCV) in July 2020. N730FD is still active in the FedEx fleet in 2024.

Five FedEx 727's on the company ramp in Memphis in May 2013. N481FE (ex-Braniff) is the first in line. Their days are numbered here and all will soon be retired. Also in the photo - N203FE, N495FE, N211FE and N287FE.
N481FE (ex-Braniff N457BN) is seen on the South Cargo ramp at Memphis International in August 2013. The Boeing tri-jet would be later sent to Lasham Airfield (QLA) in England. It was eventually scrapped.

N806FD was stored in April 2014, with Fedex certainly being the last airline in the aircraft’s list of operators.
Originally delivered to Pan Am (N821PA) in ’88, then with Delta (N821PA) in ’91, Aeroflot (F-OGYN) in ’95, Sakha Airlines (F-OGYN) in ’98, Khalifa Airways (F-OGYN) in ’99, after which she was stored in 2003. In 2005 she was converted to a freighter and started flying for Fedex up until being stored.
Originally delivered to American Airlines, this converted tri-jet has been in service with Fedex since 2001.

One of the older aircraft in the FedEx fleet at 42.5 years old, N321FE's days of service have come to an end. The MD10-30F was originally delivered to Sabena in August 1980 as DC10-30 OO-SLE. It came to FedEx in July 1992. The last revenue flight for this trijet was Toluca International Airport Mexico to Memphis on December 29, 2022. Its final flight will be to storage in Victorville, California.
FedEx 767 N177FE lines up for a departure on Runway 18L as it is heading to The Big Apple. Company 767 N276FE holds short with its flight from Memphis to Miami. UPS MD-11F (ex-Varig PP-VPM) is parked on their ramp across the way.

Can't say that I have ever heard an airplane touch down with a "thud" before, but this guy did. Prolific tire smoke as well....Phoenix, AZ on March 5, 2014.
"S/N" is the aircraft's serial number. "L/N" is a Boeing code denoting what order the airframe came off the production line. "F/N" refers to an individual airline's fleet numbering system. Not all airlines use a fleet number; not all manufacturers use a line number.
