c/n 46.992 - built in 1978 as a convertible Pax/Cargo-aircraft this DC-10 had an interesting number of operators in the first few years (ONA/Seaboard World/Loftleidir/Garuda/Air Florida/Spantax) before joining FedEx in 1984 - now serving quietly the express package industry

 

Flying by a pair of FedEx jets (N137FE and N585FE), a CH-47F Chinook helicopter 07-08735, from the US Army National Guard Pennsylvania - 2nd Battalion - 104th Aviation Regiment out of Indiantown Gap, PA, is seen arriving at Memphis International Airport.

Inbound from Newark, this well traveled FedEX MD10 is on final for 18C at Memphis. I worked this jet several times in B-Check at JFK in the early 90's.
