This aircraft was originally ordered by American Airlines as a passenger MD-11 with the allocated registration N1759.
However, the order was cancelled before building started and the aircraft was built as a freighter and delivered to FedEx Federal Express as N614FE in Nov-92. It was sold to a lessor on delivery and leased back to FedEx. It was sold back to FedEx in May-17. Current, updated 02-Dec-22.

Moved to Eagle Aviation as F-GTID in January 2007, leased to Ariana Afghan Airlines in February 2007, went back to Eagle Aviation in March 2007 and stored in May 2009. Moved to Federal Express and converted to freight use in November 2011 as N996FD.
Seen arriving Chicago O'Hare...complete with a wingman at FL340. lol.
This airframe is still active after conversion to a freighter for Federal Express...as N628FE.
